is hilarious that most Zeldatubers and YouTuber, is worried that Nintendo is not giving enough information for the game, i will reirate, that Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom dont need a huge marketing campaing to suceed, just Breath of the Wild in the franchise, will be enough to make the game sales explode, if Nintendo anounced the game at E3 2019 or E32021, and shadow dropped the game, the game would still sell like water in the desert, i simply cant stand all this ludicrous drama, does all this Zeldatuber/YouTuber really doubt that Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom be Breath of the Wild 2.0? i prefer Nintendo go blind on us until the the release of the game, i want to be suprised by the game
Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is coming to Switch.
Very cool. I'll take all the Falcom games I can get.
Well that works. My original is still in shrinkwrap…somewhere in here.

I didn’t think I could tolerate a dude saying metroid prime is the greatest video game of all time for 17 minutes.
And I was correct, it’s incredibly annoying. We get it. You don’t have to stretch a simple “Metroid Prime could be game of the year” into a 17 minute video. It’s a pretty simple topic.
Everyone is open to an opinion. This game being the greatest of all time is an opinion, and it’s even more so up for debate as a fact.
@TheBigBlue that a problem when you professional side as a YouTuber clash with your fan side, i love Metroid Prime, is one of my favorite games of all time, but even me that is a super Metroid fan, can like rational and realize no way, a remaster no matter how good it is, is never gonna win GOTY
I was just making my final 3DS/Wii U purchases given the eshop shutdowns on March 27th and seeing the Pikmin Wii ports on the Wii U eshop brought me back to the days of "Pikmin 4 is very close to completion". It's still rather surreal that it's a real thing releasing in just over 4 months.
All those years we'd talk about Pikmin 4, arguing with rjejr whether it was Hey! Pikmin or not lol. I never gave up hope, though I will admit Nintendo had me on the ropes there with that near-decade long gap.
Pikmin is soooo much fun. But like so many other Nintendo exclusives, feels like it never truly gets the attention or success it deserves.

@Grumblevolcano I still remember the reports back in 2015 of the game nearing completion. I believe if the Wii U didn’t bomb hard, it would have been a cross Gen release, like BOTW, it would start life on Wii U and be ported to switch as a launch title later on. I must have that game! I’ve got pikmin 1 and 2 for the Wii (both were very rare and very expensive) and pikmin 3 on switch. I’ve played the Hey! Pikmin demo, and I didn’t think it was worth it at the time or even now. Pikmin 4 comes out in July I believe, so I think I’ll have enough money to nab a physical copy.
Wait, why do we need a Sigurd? I mean signature, jeez.
@JaxonH If that series wasn’t Miyamoto’s child, it would probably lay abandoned. Thankfully, Miyamoto still cares about Pikmin, evident by his snazzy new merch line and mobile app.

@JaxonH@Grumblevolcano I never really thought that HeyPikmin! was Pikmin 4, I always thought it was a side game...
and I am SO glad that I was right...
@old-dad
It can be considered for your personal pick. But for the "official" GOTY, ports, remakes and remasters do not qualify. And... rightfully so. Otherwise the same games would be perpetually re-nominated year after year every time they get a new release, which wouldn't really be fair toward new games. Not that the official title holds much merit anymore, as the Keighly Awards are all AAA sponsored marketing and propaganda for PS and Xbox.
Metroid Prime has long stood as one of my favorite video games of all time (though Metroid Prime 2 is better), and Metroid Prime Remastered is easily the best game I've played this year, and not just this year, but one of the best games I've ever played period. That hasn't changed. The game was an all time fave before, and it remains an all time fave now. In fact, it's cemented as an all time fave even more now being remastered with flawless, modernized controls and graphics.
Fire Emblem Engage is really good, as is Octopath Traveler II, Trails To Azure is, I presume, just as amazing as Trails From Zero (haven't played it yet because I want to import a completed save from Trails From Zero before starting), and I've had fun with Kirby Return to Dreamland and Bayonetta Origins. But none of those are playing in the same league as Metroid Prime Remastered- not even Fire Emblem or Octopath. The only game I've played this year that remotely competes with Prime Remastered is... Metroid Fusion on NSO+
@JaxonH Oh i can agree with everything you said and reasons have merit. I just understand for millions of gamers these will be brand new games, Metroid Prime and Baten Kaitos have been stuck without a re-release since gamecube.
Probably should have a another category for those games but like you said it really doesn't matter except for fan boys and maybe developers.
@old-dad
A new category would be a good move, but there's so much wrong with how awards work that would only be scratching the surface. I'll spare you and everyone else from another one of my long winded rants against the current video game awards paradigm. Suffice it to say it's best to ignore them entirely and trust word of mouth among like minded gamers.

On this week's episode of Battle with the Backlog. I discovered that Mato Anomalies is a bust. I like the art, the soundtrack, the characters, and the rpg mechanics. Unfortunately, the hacking mechanic feels more like guesswork and a chore. It's also a gatekeeper to story progression. So...no thank you.
Also, this past weekend reconfirms that I do not like the original release of RE4. I'm too accustomed to being able to move while looking down iron sights. Having a control scheme that locks you in place while looking down iron sights does not add tension. It adds frustration.
