Wreckfest seems to be getting zero coverage from anyone, but that seems like a plus in my book, if it has a physical release.
Bayo 3 trailer was a lot of fun. Kirby is an essential. I had a good time.
But I think Nintendo might get a bit of an awakening by adding N64 as an extra tier. I can't see that many people bothering with it, particularly as the number of games initially available seems fairly limited, and the new controller is expensive.
And what is going on with the way they're promoting Splatoon 3? It seems to 'speak' to the hardcore splatter, but I find it a bit of a turn-off.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Not only can it play games on the tv, handheld, and in tabletop, but it’s the only console I know of where they have so many controller options. You wanna play NES games? Sure. And here’s an authentic NES controller that’s wireless. Wanna play SNES? Go ahead. And here’s an authentic SNES controller that’s wireless with USB-C. Wanna play N64? We got you. And here’s an authentic N64 controller. Wanna play Genesis? No problem. And here’s an authentic Sega controller.
That’s really awesome. Not to mention the split joycon, joycon in a grip, sideways joycon, pro controller, and gyro for nearly every game that can use it.
Btw, tried Diablo 2. It’s a top tier Switch port. Looks excellent. Plays super smooth. They killed it with this one.
About to jump into the card game demo, Castlevania collection and Mario Golf update.

Glad you're enjoying it! Unfortunately, I'll be skipping this and every other Activision Blizzard game I wanted (at least for now). The lawsuit and accusations put a serious bad taste in my mouth.
Quick question about Splatoon 2, it is a game I have been eyeing up since I picked up my Switch, but can any PC player give me an idea as to how it controls? I have a really, really, hard time aiming on a controller after using a mouse for so long. Even with aim assist, I just find it feels so awkward trying to aim on an analogue stick. I turn the sensitivity all the way up in the settings and it still feels like I am trying to use a mouse with a concrete block stuck on it. Is this an issue with Splatoon as well or no as it doesn't look like it is as precision based?
Splatoon 2 does have gyro controls so that's...one of the main things to consider for controlling it. I like gyro, if not as much as a lot of big Splatoon players seem to.
Voice of Cards is really good guys. The narrator’s voice actor is excellent, the production values are top notch for a game of this genre, and it feels good to move around and navigate.
Should really check out the demo.
@Pizzamorg
Splatoon uses an analog-gyro hybrid control scheme for aiming.
Most PC players praise this control scheme as being nearly as good as a mouse (and many times more comfortable at that).
Any PC gamer should love games which use gyro as it makes aiming on a controller viable. Which is even more important in handheld mode with smaller analog travel.
As with anything, you must develop the skill to utilize it properly, and it’s not going to happen immediately. Think back to the first time you ever used a controller with a right analog stick. Your right thumb was not yet trained, and we all went through this when we first played a game where we had to aim with the right analog. But over time and with practice, it became more natural. The same is true for using gyro. Your immediate response might be, “this feels unnatural and I’m not good at it“. And that’s normal. But what you do next defines whether you will adapt and become a gyro lover, or fail to adapt and be forever limited by the restrictions of a clumsy dual analog only aiming system. Some people will say “I’m not good at it, ergo, this control scheme sucks and I’m never using it again”. Others will say, “I’m not good at it, ergo, I need to practice to get good at it”. The latter will go on to be far more effective when playing than the former. There are always exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking those who use gyro absolutely smoke players who stick with analog only.
The key is getting the sensitivity correct. You don’t want it set so low it takes wide movements just to move the cursor a tiny bit on the screen. That won’t work out and it will become cumbersome rather than natural. At the same time, you don’t want the sensitivity set so high that you can’t effectively dial your aim in, and small movements while simply holding the controller cause jitter. You want to find the sweet spot where small, reflexive movements give a proper 1:1 response on the screen within the middle 50% of the screen. You don’t need gyro to be able to move the cursor all the way to the edge of the screen. That’s not what it’s for. It’s for dialing in your aim that last 10-20%. You still use the right analog for wide turns and general aiming in the vicinity, but when it comes time that you would normally nudge the analog a tiny amount, instead, you reflexively use small movements in your wrist to aim the cursor at your target the rest of the way. When you get good at this you will be able to do both at the same time- moving the analog while making slight adjustments with gyro.
Observe. This is with a Switch Pro Controller
Once you learn gyro properly, you may find you never want to go back to mouse and keyboard again. I refuse to play PC games any other way. Heck, I refuse to play any game that involves aiming any other way regardless of console (which is why I don’t really play on PlayStation much because the games there simply do not offer gyro).
This is fascinating, so you use the regular twin stick style of movement and aim, but then what, make micro corrections with gestures on the controller to try and get closer to the precision of a mouse?

Japan is getting physical releases of BotW and Splatoon 2 with the DLC included. Seems a bit late in the day for Splatoon 2 particularly, but it would be nice to have them both...

Is that true ?
Any official cover of them ?
I really hope ARMS will get rerelease again too with All contents and updates inside cartridge.
@Anti-Matter Nintendo normally does it so that when they manufacture the disk they will include the latest updates on the disk so find a copy of Arms that was made after they released all of the updates and it should be on there. BOTW and Splatoon 2 coming with the DLC is different as those games needed additional purchases which are now included.
@Pizzamorg
Basically. And while it may not ever truly close the gap between controller and mouse, it shortens it enough.
How I do it is, camera turning is with right analog, or aim in a general vicinity. Then I let Gyro take over, since aiming at off-axis diagonals sucks with an analog stick, plus it's liable to overshoot or understood the target. Gyro makes it so fast and easy to snap to the target.

@gcunit
Well, the cover art maybe looks not appealing due to terrible layout design but the cartridge with all contents inside is what we need.
We can swap with old cover from vanilla version to make it looks better.

Just gave a couple of missions a go, culminating in that toaster boss. There's definitely some growing pains to be had, but this is some of the best aiming I've ever experienced on a controller. I'm sure when I play regular humans it'll seem a lot worse, but that's what the campaign is about I assume, practicing for that moment. Much harder in my eyes is how little range the gun you start with has. That's almost more impactful on my rhythms because you constantly need to be in basically melee range.
@Pizzamorg
Glad you're seeing it's potential already. Once you've got it down to muscle memory you're gonna be a machine.
Splatoon is different than most other competitive shooters. The shorter range is part of the gameplay and forces you to get up close and personal- risk vs reward. Just keep in mind, it's not about kill ratios. It's about painting the ground. Taking out opponents only matters inasmuch that it gives you more time to paint unchallenged and less time for the opposing team to paint.
There are a ton of different weapons though. Sniper rifles give you much more range. Secondary weapons like bombs can also help, and your specials can hit anyone on the map, depending on the ability.
Try to find a weapon with a good balance of average paint coverage per second, and offensive ability.
Also, the Salmon Run horde mode is tons of fun and focuses less on painting and more on defending against waves of AI enemies.

Yeah, I saw the potentially basically straight away when you explained how it worked. Weirdly it felt more natural using the pro controller with Gyro with my Switch flat in handheld, than it did on the TV but I want to get used to having it on the TV. If more console shooters offered this option, I would probably play way more of them.
Looking forward to unlocking more stuff and getting to grips with the game. I mean even during that opening set of campaign missions, some of the specials you get along the way are very cool.
