Ok, wow. I'm actually astonished at how many games were revealed I care about.

Axiom Verge 2 launching today was a smart move. Get it in leading up to Metroid Dread.

Metal Slug Tactics looks slick. I love the artstyle. Switch truly is the best platform ever released for strategy titles.

Tetris Effect Connected Ya. It's about time. No idea what took them so long to release this game on Switch. But it's coming now, and that's what matters.

Eastward looked genuinely interesting. I have to be careful here though. A LOT of indie games release in this "looks good but is it really good?" category. Like Baldo, I'll wait for reviews and go from there.

Slime rancher, tetris and a few others caught my eye, But man, I was really hoping fir spelunky.

Of course I watch the crappy Indie Worlds with random games nobody cares about, but the one I skip drops bombs. lol

I've literally wanted Tetris Effect on Switch for years now. It's SUCH a good version of that game. But I just don't really care about playing Tetris on a TV. It has always been a handheld property for me.

@JaxonH I know it was a typo, but Metal Gear Tactics would be a huge announcement for me, lol.

Metal Slug Tactics is cool too, though. I really liked the look of it at E3.

It's non-canon and the stories are batsh*t insane but they kind of went the TRPG route even with all the convoluted card stuff

Does Tetris Effect have a smaller window as shown in the trailer, similar to Tetris 99, or does it let you fill the entire screen top to bottom? Asking because handheld mode might seem pretty small if it's just a tiny window

@JaxonH There's a camera zoom option for single-player modes where you can make the board fill the screen, which I had to use because I'm near-sighted and struggled to see the board at the default size. The obvious trade-off is that you don't see a lot of the visual effects on the periphery of the screen, but... eh.

Zoom isn't an option in multiplayer, though, to my knowledge. Ironically, despite the vastly smaller screen, being able to hold it close to my face means it'll probably still be easier for me to play mp in handheld mode, like with Tetris 99.

Just saw the Indie World video. I'm actually pretty excited for Tetris Effect! Eastward looks pretty good too, and I'd like to give Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon a shot as well. I never got the first Axiom Verge though...I should change that sometime before I get the second one.

If you do, I will warn you there's a boss in the first Axiom Verge that's brutal. I could not beat it to save my life. Great boss music, though.

That's true. Tetris 99 does play fine in handheld. This just seemed really small in the trailer. I'm sure it'll be fine.

@JaxonH mp gameplay might be an issue in handheld for some people, since it doesn't have the zoom feature. If the devs are smart, they'll patch in something for handheld players that increases the size of the boards when the system is undocked.

Hopefully the developers have toned down some of the visual effects on Switch to maintain a solid framerate and resolution.

Not sure how much time I'll spend in mp, though. Tetris Effect will be THE single-player Tetris game on Switch when it launches. Nothing else compares.

I have no intention of playing multi-player. Only reason I do in 99 is for the themes. They strongarmed me into it.

Gosh dang it. Speaking of which, I forgot to get the Skyward Sword theme last weekend.

Just bought Islanders Console Edition for £5 which is a bargain! That will keep me going through work... err I mean... not during work because I am totally doing my job

2021 is stealth ****ing killing me. I feel like all I do in my spare time is buy games, and yet there's a metric ****-tonne of Switch games I haven't got or put money aside for yet.

Tetris Effect though... it needs VR mode or I'm out.

@gcunit Considering how quickly Nintendo ditched Labo and its associated features I'm not counting on it. I don't even think it has VR on Xbox either.

I'm honestly so glad God of War and Horizon got delayed to next year

If I had to buy those in conjunction with all the stuff coming to Switch I need to play like Metroid, SMT V, WarioWare and now double dipping on Tetris Effect, I would've gone completely broke lol

Next year even has those two games + Metal Slug Tactics, Hogwarts Legacy, Breath of the Wild's sequel, LotR Gollum, Forspoken, GhostWire, Splatoon 3, and potentially Final Fantasy XVI and the sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man if Insomniac want to come out in time for the character's 60th anniversary

@MsJubilee which boss was it? I remember the game being tough at some points myself.

@JaxonH Yeah, if you're not doing multiplayer, it won't an issue at all. You can make the board pretty much fill the screen on PS4, so I doubt this version will be missing that feature.

I got the Skyward Sword theme, but I seem to be missing 4 or so themes before it. I missed several of the events, it seems. Kinda annoying.

@TheFrenchiestFry Trying to keep up with 2+ modern devices is overwhelming, to be honest. I totally get why some people just refuse to buy more than one console each gen. I might be headed that way myself, honestly, unless PS5 starts getting exclusive Atlus games.

Ok. My 4KTV seems to be on its death bed, or at least, it’s reached a point it’s time to replace. There’s this dark splotch that covers the entire middle of the screen on the right side. Not enough to be too noticeable but every time I load the eshop I see it. I keet thinking I’m imagining things, but it’s gotten more and more noticeable any time the screen is all white or a solid color.

So I decided screw it. It’s TIME TO UPGRADE.

And so, with Switch OLED releasing soon, I thought it only appropriate I make the jump to an OLED 4KTV. And what other model to buy than the newest LG model, the successor to the LG CX… the “LG C1”. For some reason I still haven’t figured out, I had $450 on an Amazon gift card, and another $60 in rewards on my Amazon VISA, alongside the fact the purchase earned 5% in rewards back as well. And it was on sale for $100 off. So I barely paid over $1000 for it, all things considered. Not bad for a $1600 TV.

And here’s my question. Is there anyone here who games on an OLED TV? And if so, what are your thoughts? I still have time to cancel and order a different model, so I just thought I’d ask in case there’s some crazy good TV I haven’t heard about or some cutting edge model about to release, etc.

@Ralizah Honestly I'd be lying if I said I only bought PlayStation consoles for Persona lol

I have an affinity for a lot of Sony's first party franchises, in some cases even more than Nintendo's, and now that they're even securing deals on stuff like the Final Fantasy series and have the exclusive rights to publish Spider-Man games with Insomniac, I'm probably always going to stick by PlayStation. They've never really let me down with their consoles, which is something I can't even say for Nintendo at times (e.g. Wii U. Didn't even get one and not at all sad that I missed out)
