Nintendo's April - June 2021 results is on August 5th. It'll be interesting to see the results like how well Miitopia did and whether MK8 Deluxe extended its lead over Animal Crossing.

And here's another one. Sounds like the OLED is a very nice upgrade from the current model

Do third party games not published by Nintendo ever unlock at midnight of launch day if you pre-load them from the eshop?

@Ralizah
Some, but how many I’m not sure.

Sometimes my games unlock around 10am central time the next morning, while other times they unlock at 11pm central time the night prior.

Usually if it’s a smaller game or indie it’ll be the next morning, if it’s in that weekly Thursday batch.

@JaxonH My special edition of SMT V likely won't be here on release day (at least, the one I have ordered from Amazon won't; unsure about the one I have ordered from Video Games Plus), so I'm trying to figure out whether I want to buy it digitally or not. If I snag a digital copy and it unlocks at midnight, I'll have the benefit of not having to wait until afternoon to play it, like I would if I preordered a physical copy.

Ah.

Well, obviously I don’t know if SMTV will release at midnight, but I suspect it will, being a bigger game and all. Worst case scenario you play when you wake up. Still sooner than physical. For me, that’s part of wanting it digital. But the rest is wanting games I really love on my system at all times without relying on a cart. From what I can tell, SMTV seems like one of those games for you. But, my considerations usually don’t involve financial repercussions. I’m a little too cavalier with my gaming purchases and, if not for the fact I can afford it, some might even say reckless. You may be more frugally inclined.

@JaxonH I don't have a large budget for gaming (relative to big spenders, anyway; I still get pretty much everything I really want, so I'm satisfied), but I'm not concerned about being frugal when it comes to this game. I've never been more excited for a video game in my life.

I really wish digital Switch games unlocked at midnight like digital PS4 games apparently do. I don't see the value in arbitrarily making some people wait until halfway through the next day to access their digital content.

@Ralizah
Check the release date on the calendar and see if it's on a Tue, Thur or Fri.

Friday is almost certainly midnight. Thursday is almost certainly the next morning with the weekly batch of releases. Tuesday is a toss up.

@JaxonH lol What a bizarre system. What's the logic behind having games on certain days unlock at different times?

It's releasing on a Friday, btw, so that's good to hear.

That’s 41-95 deg Fahrenheit btw.

Sounds like a fairly obvious statement. We don’t recommend using your device in below freezing temps, and oh btw, we also don’t recommend using it in Death Valley heat either. Try to keep it somewhere between the two

I for one like to live dangerously and therefore, play my switch in 96 deg F weather only.

I wonder what's going on regarding Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and Legends Arceus, it's really odd for Pokemon to go 6 months with no info outside of a release date. Also the New Pokemon Snap which came out today is the kind of thing that would usually be revealed in a Pokemon Presents/Direct.
