@Giancarlothomaz
In Nintendo’s own words, they said they’ve made the mistake of waiting too long- waiting because a system was “still selling with no sign of slowing down” and then when it inevitably does stop selling, when it does eventually slow down, the momentum is lost. And releasing a new system can’t regain the momentum.
And they said they’re done making that mistake. It’s too hard to regain momentum once it’s lost. So moving forward, instead of waiting until after there are signs of slowing down out of greed, wanting to milk it for all its worth, they’re going to ensure momentum stays high by releasing new hardware at the peak of momentum. That would be.... right about now. This year is peak momentum.

Unless XCX is exclusive to it, I'll probably skip the new revision for awhile. The state of my XB1 is a lot worse than the state of my original Switch so Series X has become a higher priority even if Microsoft has yet another bad E3.
Same, I'm content with my Switch V2, until the Switch V3 or Switch Pro exclusive games start rolling out. Everyone assumes BotW 2 will function regardless of which version of Switch you own. I agree with that assumption, but it makes wonder which game will be the first to insist "Requires Switch version 3.7 or earlier to play."

@Grumblevolcano I understand but it is a different scenario as that was a massive game for 3ds but not the case of Wii U to switch. More likely for some big 3rd parties that missed Switch
I’m all over the new revision. Couple hundred bucks is a drop in the bucket compared to the benefit of Switch games looking/running better.
Nintendo Switch is my favorite console of all time. Being able to play on the tv, or handheld, or in tabletop is something I value so much I struggle to even put a price on it. But that portability aspect means mobile chipset, which means there’s a limit on graphics and performance. And Switch is right at the cusp of so many games running borderline. Even a slight bump would be enough to push those games over the threshold.
So any improved Switch is an automatic day one. And if it does get a notable bump in performance, that’s going to offer so much more bang for buck than a bump in performance for a power console that’s already running games at the higher end of the spectrum. There’s just no way I could live in a world where a better Switch exists and I say nah, I’m good.

Better screen and 4k wouldn’t be as exciting as an improved chip, that’s for sure, but that’s still valuable to me. If screen quality and output resolution didn’t matter we’d still all be playing Wii in 360p and 3DS in 240p. While visual clarity isn’t the be all end all, it’s definitely something I’ll take having versus not having.
Hopefully though, we’ll get a little bump in performance as well. Enough to iron out Pokémon Arceus. I imagine the base version will be the new Hyrule Warriors Legends.
@JaxonH Visual fidelity is important, but you also have to keep the hardware in mind. If I cared about games only looking good on my TV, I'd be playing most or all of my non-exclusive Switch games on PC or PS5.
If the rumored Switch uses DLSS, wouldn't that also improve undocked resolution in supported games, though?
@Ralizah
I'd argue there's a notable difference between caring about something... and only caring about something, or caring about it above all else.
For example, I don't only care about visual quality. Portability at 720p handheld/ 1080p docked is far more appealing than 4k TV only. But that doesn't mean it has no worth at all. Compared to TV only, I'll take the lower quality, but compared to a similar hybrid system with the same hybrid benefits? Don't see any gain from optionally choosing a worse hybrid experience vs a better hybrid experience.
As for DLSS, if it's on the chip (which is the most likely outcome), yes, but that could also just be used to cap out at 720p consistently instead of hitting 540p, and it could cap out at 720p with a better framerate.
That said, I'm not convinced we're gonna see DLSS on this revision. Maybe. But it just seems like quite the jump for a revision, one that would require a substantial deviation in chip architecture. I suspect insiders may have conflated leaks pertaining to the next gen Switch with leaks pertaining to the revision.
But we'll see.

industry Insider Emily Rogers hint that Switch Pro anouncement is very close to be anounced and the rumored 2D Metroid game developed by Mercury Steam might release on fall(septembre/octobre).
Don’t get me wrong @jump and @Magician, I’m not even a Sonic fan. I’ve never even touched a Sonic game! But it’s still interesting to see. And the best part is that there’s little emotional investment and disappointment if something ‘bad’ is announced...

Understandable. Personally, it just gets my hackles up when Sega puts the bulk of their advertisement effort behind the Sonic brand. Yes, it's Sega's mascot and best known IP, but Sonic doesn't hold the same cache it did in the 90's. I imagine most gamers in their late 30s or early 40s roll their eyes at most Sonic announcements, as Sega has done an excellent job running the series into the ground over the years.
Sonic would be cool...for the occasional callback, like The Noid campaign Dominoes Pizza is current running. But now when I see Sonic and I think, "again?"
