Meh, I just don't do Sonic anymore. I last tried Sonic with Lost World, I wasn't expecting much and it was fine but then came the realisation there's so many other legit great games I could be playing instead rather than playing a game just for its name.
Happy that all the Sonic games are coming to Switch. Although some thoughts:
Sonic Colours has long been rumoured so wasn't all too surprising. TBH I'm not a big fan of the game (I found the levels too short, I'm not a fan of side-scrolling boost Sonic, and I find the wisps to be totally counter to Sonic's core gameplay), but I'm tempted to give this one another shot.
Sonic Origins is a win if only to get the mobile ports of Sonic 1 and 2 on console. I'll need more info to determine if this is the definitive way to play 3 and Knuckles (will this be remade in the same engine as 1/2/CD? Will there be issues with rights to the soundtrack, as has been speculated for many years?)
Disappointed in the teaser at the end though. It's been 4 years and Sonic Team are only able to show us a CGI teaser of their next game? I know we'll probably hear something soon, but a new Sonic game was a given - this hasn't really given me anything to get hyped over.
Really excited to finally have Sonic Colours on a modern system. Liked it on Wii though didn't play it much on Wii U via backwards compatibility because Wii Remote controls were awkward (on Wii you could play it with the GC controller).
Still it's one small step closer to Switch completing my "playable on Wii U" library.
@Haruki_NLI To be fair, Sonic Team are in a bit of a bind when it comes to making 3D Sonic games with a lot of content. Sonic's speed means that stages have to be much larger for a relatively short amount of gameplay.
It's likely why pretty much every Sonic game has been massively padded with alternative gameplay styles or other means (e.g. Sonic Heroes with 4 playable teams) for the past 2 decades.
The one exception I can think of is Sonic Lost World...but Sonic wasn't particularly fast in that game and the level design left a lot to be desired.
That said, I don't have much faith in Sonic Team currently.
We've been through many events over the past few days though I'd say the most interesting one so far would be the MH May Digital Event. Still very excited for Stories 2 and I'm sure the MH Rise 3.0 update content will be fun when I get to it (haven't unlocked the 2.0 content yet).
And all of them are playable in normal quests outside Rampage mode. On top of several pages of additional quests, several event quests, and so much more.
You need to be HR20 to fight Chameleos, then HR30 for Kushala Daora, HR40 for Teostra, HR50 for All-Mother Narwa and HR100 for Valstrax. Not sure about Bazelgeuse. It may unlock from the start as long as you’ve beaten Narwa. But advancinv HR goes fast once you unlock your HR cap. A single rampage can jump you 4-5 HR levels at once if it has an Apex monster.
Not sure if you played Valstrax in MHGU, but Crimson Glow Valstrax is so good in Rise. I would contend, the best monster in the game.
Yea, I was never really a Sonic fan to be honest. The Genesis games were cool, and the Adventures games on the Dreamcast were kind of neat, but most other stuff... bleh. It's one of those franchises that I keep trying and I keep regretting my 60 dollars or however much I spend on each new game lol

Lol I wasn't expecting much with Lost World, and still thought it was terrible.
Sonic has just never really been good in 3D. Generations, Colors and Adventure 2 are passable, the rest are mostly awful.
I've always wanted to try Colors, so I'll probably get this remaster at some point.
Not sure I'm going to bother with the Genesis collection, though. People give Nintendo flak about re-selling the same games to people over and over, but Sega really takes the cake with their first couple of Sonic games.
I guess the idea is that people are willing to pay a premium for Sonic 3, since it comes with the other games from that era, too.
If it wasn't for certain really old arcade games and Street Fighter 2, I'm pretty sure Sonic 1 or 2 would be the most re-released game ever. Just off the top of my head, there's Sonic Jam, I think a Dreamcast collection of some sort, Sonic Genesis on GBA, the plug and play of Genesis games I have that has Sonic 2, the arcade version (which I only know from Nick Arcade), the Sega Genesis mini console, the Sega Ages version, the enhanced mobile ports, and different collections on GCN, PS2, DS and Xbox 360. That's not even including VC releases or whatever other standard downloadable ports there were (I also just looked up to see if it was a 3D Classic, it was).
In a way its fine, most of those legendary series have their early classics ported all the time, and a lot of them should because they hold up, but it does feel like other Sonic games have been ignored for too long. I'm not sure any of the handheld Sonics post-Game Gear have ever been re-released.
I will say this change in Nintendo is very interesting, they definitely seem to be a lot more territorial which lines up with Furukawa's "do or die" comments.
Doing the September 2020 Partner Showcase a day after the PS5 September event seemed to send the message that Monster Hunter has a future on Nintendo platforms, you don't need a PS5.
Similarly given the Amazon Mexico listings, it looks like the new Switch revision is going to be revealed today which would be seem to be a direct response to the Horizon Forbidden West State of Play.
@Grumblevolcano Given Sony has stated they want over 50% market share (which with three console manufacturers would be a bad thing as it's a monopoly), they have every right to be aggressive.
We are already paying $100 and up on Sony games here in the UK, let's hope the market doesn't leave it open for them to keep going higher.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@Grumblevolcano Mexican Amazon doesn't mean much imo, it could be a reseller on there who created it or they are just putting a place holder up based on rumours. If they had it's proper name or a pic I'd be more inclined to take it as real but there's been plenty of Amazon listings that have led to nothing in the past.
@Haruki_NLI I'm pretty sure all three are aiming for 50%+ market share. Nintendo already owns Japan kinda. That's just something the investors want to hear.
@Balta666 Memorial Day is monday, my bosses are all based in America and they are working today. It's common for yankees to take today off though so they have a longer weekend.
