@Rexenoboy i still think Nintendo will release Switch Pro with Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 in holiday 2021, just like they did with Switch Lite and the release of the remake of Legend of Zelda Links Awakening.
@Giancarlothomaz It's certainly possible. Nintendo will make sure to release a big-name first party game alongside a Switch Pro, but I don't think it necessarily has to be Zelda. Splatoon 3 for instance would make a big impact as well. If they market it right as in "Best on Switch Pro", it would sell like hotcakes.
@Giancarlothomaz
No, I don't think they will. Nintendo has learned to release hardware in spring/summer, as they did for 3DS, New 3DS, Switch and Switch Lite. Zelda will be a holiday title, but the hardware should already be out by then. They may have originally planned to release Zelda sooner to align with the hardware, but clearly it's delay means that's not going to happen.
The leaks say suppliers are starting production in Q4. Which wouldn't happen if it wasnt releasing until Q4 the following year. Q4 production means spring time release.
More than just having a launch title they need good software the year following and Zelda releasing 6 months after will help to ensure momentum stays high.

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/09/animal_crossing_new... Animal Crossing New Horizons fall update might come early that i expected, i trough Nintendo gonna release the Fall update for Animal Crossing New Horizons in octobre 27th, since 5 days is enough for Nintendo to make the best Halloween event of the franchise, and please Nintendo add Bulk Crafting or a shopping options in Able Sisters and Nook Cranny, and don't forget Brewster too.
I saw some rumour/ speculation that the Switch revision might launch with Monster Hunter Rise .... We'll have to see but it sounded quite convincing! Hopefully, no games will actually require any new hardware, though
i love the darker and mature atmophere of Legend of Zelda Majora Mask, i hope and expect Nintendo could replicate the darker and mature atmophere of Zelda Majora Mask on Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 and even surpass it.
@BruceCM and how about the rumored 2D Metroid that is said to be a sequel of Metroid Fusion?that a rumor said that Nintendo is gonna release a Paper Mario on Switch, they also hinted that Nintendo would release a 2D Metroid game that continues the Metroid Fusion history on Switch?are Nintendo gonna release a HD version of Metroid Prime Trilogy and this rumored 2D Metroid game that continues the Metroid Fusion history in 2021/2022?
I mean, it makes sense if they launch the Switch revision with Monster Hunter Rise, Balan Wonderwold, and one other title. I know Zelda has a history of launching with Switch revisions, but that's probably out, but I could see another series with a history launching then instead: Specifically, Xenoblade. Well, that or the other mysterious Monolith IP. Monolith's games always push the system they're on to it's limit, so they'd be perfect for selling a revision.
@jump It's definitely going to be pushing Switch hardware. Not as hard as Monster Hunter Rise, but I'd wager that it's going to be running something like 540p portable / 720p docked since it's built in Unreal Engine 4. Anything that's Unreal based needs all the help it can get on Switch.
Again, not saying it's the flagship title they'll advertise (that's probably Rise unless we get a Monolith game), but I do expect it to be specifically stated as a title that's improved by the new hardware.
@Grumblevolcano I mean, that would surprise no one, (but piss everyone off that the superior 3DS versions weren't brought over with all their QoL improvements and graphical upgrades).
Though I don't think it's much of a showcase for a more powerful revision.
@link3710 I'm not expecting exclusive like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D but just Zelda being a launch window title like Majora's Mask 3D launching same day as New 3DS. The real hardware showcase would be Monster Hunter Rise like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was for the New 3DS.
@Northwind
Fair enough, I just don’t see why that matters. Planned pre-orders are the worst because people get their bots lined up and, you’re competing with literally everyone at the same time.
Unexpectedly releasing pre-orders always works out better for me because I stay in the know. I managed to snag a preorder and I wasn’t even planning on it. But I did because I always order first, think later. Might gift it to my brother for Christmas or something, if I don’t cancel it. I’m not going to keep it for myself, that’s for sure. But the fact I was able to get one when I don’t even want one, that’s thanks to them going live randomly. Every time preorders go live at a certain time for “fairness”, I seem to miss out because you’ve got the entire planet hitting the website at the exact same time with everybody in existence competing simultaneously.
So I can appreciate the argument on principle but practically speaking, I think they did people a favor. Some people will miss out but they probably would’ve missed out anyways. Pretty sure you’ve got an even lower chance when competing against everyone at once. That’s my take anyways.

@Northwind Throw on top of that them simultaneously going back on their word that "Miles Morales wouldn't be possible on PS4" at the same time and it left quite the bitter taste.
@link3710
Now THAT is something I agree is bogus. They sure capitalized on rubbing Xbox in the dirt over cross gen support, and the fans ate it up. I can’t even count how many comments I read from people bashing Xbox for Halo being cross gen, and how PS games were “built ground up for PS5” and “wouldn’t be possible on PS4”.
Come to find out oh, Miles Moralis is just a $50 DLC pack for a PS4 game, also releasing on PS4, and oh by the way, your save files won’t work from PS4, and that Dark Souls PS3 remake, that’s $70 and also coming to PC, and Horizon 2? Ya that’s not releasing soon but, when it does, it’s also going to be a PS4 game.
That I completely understand. I’m not really upset about it because very few things upset me. Habitual money hatting upsets me, but aside from that I’m not gonna waste time getting angry. But it certainly affects my decision to buy. I had already decided against it but since I did manage to get a pre-order and there’s always the chance I decide to keep it. But I just don’t see a reason to when everything is on PS4 or PC, and for less than those new $50 DLC, $70 full game prices locked behind a $600 purchase paywall that’s going to run into space issues after 7 games thanks to 100+ GB file sizes and like 750 GB usable space in the OS, and that’s going to become outdated in 2 years anyways when they release a Pro model with a 2TB SSD. So while I’m not angry, it definitely puts a damper any chance I might have been persuaded to jump in at launch.

Pretty sure I made my thoughts clear. In principle, yes, in practice, no.
And I don’t see there being any sort of impasse because I was never trying to convince you of adopting my opinion in the first place. I was simply sharing my views.

Having a discussion is about exchanging ideas, no matter how different they are. If our ideas were identical there wouldn’t be a discussion to be had in the first place. I’m simply sharing my views, and if that’s too much for you to handle, to feel that discussion has to be “shut down“ because my views differ than yours, you’re not worth having a discussion with in the first place.
If you think it’s just a battle of locking horns to convince the other person each is right, or two people backpatting in mutual agreement, then it’s not a discussion. I’m sharing my views to give my perspective and you can share yours in return- that’s how discussions work. It doesn’t mean a worthwhile discussion can’t be had. To say that I must have your opinion, or a viewpoint sufficiently similar to your opinion, in order to have a worthwhile discussion is asinine, and then to say that I’m selfish on top of that is beyond narrow minded. If you’re just going to attack anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint nobody’s going to want to have a discussion with you anyways.
All you need say is “interesting, but I disagree and here’s why“, and leave it at that. No need for all the “your opinion is too radical to even deserve further discussion” which is ultimately just an attempt to marginalize an opposing viewpoint.

@Northwind The biggest issue with Sony's preordering debacle is the fact that everything seems to be in limited supply these days, and scalpers utilize AI bots to instant-order scores of copies, only to flip them around for exorbitant prices sometimes minutes afterward, causing the storefronts to sell out in the process.
This is why it felt so scummy for retailers to compete with each other to break street date in the middle of the night. Only scalpers with auto-bots that can operate at any ungodly hour will order up all of the limited quantities before the normal customers even wake up in the morning.
Scalpers have ruined entire industries in the past (scalpers ruined live theatre by turning middle-manning into entire businesses), so the gaming industry had better be careful how they handle online shopping moving forward, especially since the average layman could never compete with an AI bot auto-ordering lightning fast.
