@Grumblevolcano I doubt Ratchet and God of War are going to come to PS4. Ratchet especially given the entire gimmick of that game seems to be purposely made around the PS5's fast loading capabilities. Cross gen games at least for launch window make sense because they're not going to straight up abandon PS4's massive install base for the forseeable future when there's still potential to make money there. Plus Miles and Sackboy are very much a BotW situation where the game releases on last and current gen systems just for those who aren't sure about jumping into next gen that quickly. Horizon Forbidden West is probably the last instance that this will happen.

don't worry about that 1/2 years after the release of Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom is gonna release Monster Hunter Rise in all plataforms or develop a exclusive Mostre Hunter game for all plataforms, is quite obvious that Monster Hunter Rise is gonna be a timed exclusive to Switch, after all Capcom don't want to waste they money in a console that his best selling games are dominated by Nintendo games, if i was Capcom i would cancel Monster Hunter Rise and release istead in all consoles.
this is all the special Character that is garantee to return in Animal Crossing New Horizons, but sadly still no sign of Brewster(is he coming to Animal Crossing New Horizons?or Nintendo will reserve him for the next mainline Animal Crossing game on Switch sucessor?)
@Magician it seens that the you forgeted the RE4 situation, that was developed exclusively for Gamecube and PS2 owner complained about this and PS2 got his RE4 that he wanted so much, they same situation can apply now to Monster Hunter Rise, when Monster Hunter Rise was anounced as a exclusive game for Switch, a lot of people was not happy with this, and is not a simple amount of people complaining about this, but a subtantial that is very angry, they can't play Monster Hunter Rise in they PlayStation or Xbox.
MH Tri on Wii was never ported despite many people wanting it.
MH3U on 3DS was never ported.
MH4U on 3DS was never ported.
MH Generations on 3DS was never ported.
MHGU on Switch was never ported.
MH World on PS4/X1/PC was never ported to Switch despite tons of people unhappy who wanted it.
MH Rise will never be ported. They dont care if people are unhappy. They dont care if people want it. The game will do 7 million copies and just like MH World, they're not even going to think about porting it. It's a game designed for Switch that will always be on Switch. 100% guaranteed. This isnt the GameCube era, and Resident Evil isnt Monster Hunter. Resident Evil ALWAYS gets ported. Monster Hunter NEVER gets ported cross-brand.
Eventually we'll get Resident Evil Revelations 3 on Switch, and that game will probably eventually be ported, but not Monster Hunter.

@Giancarlothomaz I have literally never seen a single negative reaction to Rise being Switch exclusive. People are used to this now considering the last 6 or 7 games outside world have appeared exclusively on Nintendo platforms. World was more multiplayer focused which is probably why it was developed for other systems but that was the absolute rare exception.
Also you lowkey forgot the Capcom Five crashed and burned almost immediately after RE4 and P.N.03 remained the only game that was a permanent GameCube exclusive under that deal due to the console's meddling installbase next to the PS2. The Switch does not have that problem at all.
@Magician i mentioned RE4 because it was more emblematic, i am aware of the others games of Capcom 5, but the release of RE4 have more impact the others games.
@Grumblevolcano I doubt Sony actually moneyhatted MH World. If that was the case it likely would've been exclusive worldwide instead of just in specific regions. It's probably because Xbox One has a terrible market share in Asian markets, especially Japan. Atlus did a similar thing with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and how that was a PS3 console exclusive in Japan even though other regions got the 360 version

@Giancarlothomaz RE4 being ported to PS2 wasn't just a user response thing though. Shareholders and investors in the company were adamantly pressuring Capcom to make it a multiplatform title and Shinji Mikami tried everything to stop that from happening. He was even quoted in an interview saying he would "cut his own head off" if it were ported to platforms outside GameCube. The PS2 version was literally announced 2 months before the game even launched on GameCube and that's why it sold poorly on that platform compared to the PS2 version.
@TheFrenchiestFry when Monster Hunter Rise was anounced, the oficial Twitter of the Monster Hunter franchise was filled of people complaining and angry about the game exclusivity to Switch, maybe they complaining have settle down.
The person who originally leaked World and MH Rise said Sony had worked out a deal for exclusivity, so I do think they paid for MH World in Japan. Especially because it didn’t release on PC in Japan either (that I’m aware of).The reason I think it was only in Japan is because it would’ve been too expensive to pay for exclusivity everywhere, given how much more popular Xbox and PC are outside of Japan (they would have had to compensate for millions of units sold, that would be like a $100 million deal, whereas Japan alone could be bought for just a few million). It just doesn’t make sense otherwise, given other less popular games still release on Xbox in Japan, and certainly PC. Especially since there was already an Xbox and PC version that released day and date in every single other country/region on earth except Japan. And MH World was a megaton release, unlike a niche JRPG spinoff like Persona 4 Arena.
But I don’t think MH Rise existing has anything to do with that. It might, but I doubt it. I think they just can’t get World running on Switch and therefore made a separate game. We see Rise pushing the limits of what Switch can handle. In hindsight, I don’t think MH World on Switch would have been possible without serious compromise. Heck, they couldn’t even get RE7 on Switch with satisfactory results, and MH World is far more demanding than RE7. And given MH Rise, I think that was the right choice. I’d rather have a game built for the system than a seriously downgraded port of World, even if it’s a magnificent game. World is just one of those games best played on PC or a console capable of doing it justice.

@JaxonH I'm not sure the two things are connected at all. It seems like both teams picked the hardware they're most used to (console and handheld), and developed for that. So long as Capcom maintains dedicated portable and console MH teams, I don't think we'll stop seeing games that either come to everything but Ninyendo, or only to Nintendo.
And that's not a bad thing. I wish we got more games that were designed around the Switch's unique hardware. There only other third party title like that I can think of is Starlink, which feels like the Switch was the target system and the others were just ports.
@link3710
No, I totally agree. Basically what I was trying to say. I don’t think MH Rise has anything to do with World, aside from the fact the hardware is portable and thus needs its own game since the other can’t run properly.
And that’s the best possible outcome we could hope for. Not only does it mean getting two different games instead of one, it also means getting the best of both worlds. A huge, sprawling, crazy awesome graphics entry for PC with full voice chat and the works, but also a high budget, more gameplay focused entry with all the same QoL features but designed for hybrid portable play, local wireless hunting parties, etc.
What more could a Hunter ask for!

There is now a demo for the Switch Kingdom Hearts game everyone wanted on the eShop right now. The title screen has a pretty sweet remix of Dearly Beloved from KHIII

@TheFrenchiestFry Well if it's a remix, how is it from III? Im genuinely confused considering every game has its own version of Dearly Beloved, even stuff like Coded.
