Listening to the constant Switch Pro rumors throughout 2020 is going to be exhausting. Even more so than the Switch Mini rumors were from late 2018 through 2019 before the Switch Lite was officially announced.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,561 games (as of April 18th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Nintendo sent me their newsletter in my email and included some stats for me. According to those, I’ve played 91 hours total, Saints Row 3 is my most played game and Action is my most played genre. That’s true, as I’m just finished Wolfenstein and am now playing through LA Noire and Red Faction. I do play Mario Kart online frequently too.
We’ve actually got a pretty reasonable month coming up, even moreso considering there’s no 1st party releases, and it’s a short month.
February
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics (2/4)
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate (2/14)
Darksiders Genesis (2/14)
Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl- Gold (2/14)
Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] (2/20)
Devil May Cry 3 (2/20)
Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection (2/22)
Samurai Showdown (2/25)
Two-Point Hospital (2/25)
Metro Redux (2/28)
Rune Factory 4 (2/28)
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Oh snap rune factory is next month?! There goes my free time.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
Finished up defeating all the Unique Monsters (optional bosses) in XC2: Torna tonight! By far the toughest was a level 48 deer monster that was absolutely kicking my butt even though my entire party was nearly 20 levels higher than it at level 66 (I think it had a bucking attack that would nearly one-shot anyone positioned behind it). It's difficulty really suprised me because none of the other Unique Monsters gave me nearly as much trouble (including a giant level 55 Manta Ray, that I managed to easily defeat even with an incomplete party after someone fell off a cliff early on in the fight).
Anyhow, now that I've done that and have completed all the sidequests as well, I think I'm going to take on the final boss. The only extraneous activity I haven't done is fight the Golden Monsters.
It's been a really strong way to start 2020 for me on Switch.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
There are some of upcoming Switch games i will buy later (Not Day One) due to my focus on building my games library on other gaming devices in this year. Some of other games on different machines are more important for me at this moment and i have get them from Ebay or playasia ASAP.
TBH I'm glad there aren't many games that I know of (until the next Direct) that I want on the Switch too badly in the next 3-4 months. Should allow me to make some headway on my backlog! Though I suspect more releases I want will be crammed into the latter half of the year again.

I agree. I don't mind some speculation, but I do get tired of "N3v3rL13z987 heard a rumor from their uncle's grandpa's third cousin five times removed who works for Nintendo that the Switch 4DS XL Pro Maxx is in the works!" and so on. Would it kill people to at least be surprised once in awhile?
Well, the Kingdom Hearts rumor is already a bust, it's another MTX heavy mobile title that's probably going to be terrible if KHUX is anything to go by.
Ok I'm going to try to explain it seriously once...
Don't mean to offend you, but your expectations and the way you think people would respond to some things (e.g. eShop overhaul, DMC3 release) aren't exactly realistic nor mainline. The world is much more indifferent than you may think, especially when it comes to relatively unimportant stuff. Unimportant for most others that is, obviously these things matter a lot to you.
@gcunit yeah you may be right. I hate reading half threads though, so hardly ever ignore someone. And even if I do, after a few weeks I usually come back from it
@Magician@Tyranexx It'll be like this for Sony and Microsoft stuff too. Push Square is very much "[insert rumour] suggests that PS5 will be announced in February with [insert games] lineup." and the Xbox front is "Look at all these ports on the back of the Series X".
@Magician@Tyranexx@Grumblevolcano What's frustrating is that people are treating it as a given...and it's such a big idea (on the basis of zero evidence) that people are bound to talk about it until it eventually happens. And at a minimum that's going to be until summer, based on usual console reveals.
Xbox ports? People will forget about that in a few months.
The Pro speculation will die down once Nintendo reveals more of its plans for 2020. It’s just a slow time for gaming news so people are grabbing at whatever rumor is flying around.
As far as the “power gap” is concerned, I think Nintendo will be able wrangle more developers into its ecosystem even after the PS5 and XSeX launches.
They seem intent in the Switch era to not have the platform fall into irrelevancy like the Wii and WiiU. Also not having to divide the exclusives between a handheld and a home console will continue help the Switch expand its library faster.
