@sixrings I'm sorry, but that's honestly just silly in my opinion. If you want the most powerful home console experience, then the Switch isn't the choice for you and honestly you should have been able to know that going in if you bought it yourself. The Switch is not a current gen home console. It's the first ever successful hybrid console designed to function as either a console or a portable and it does very well at both. But being able to do both does limit it from being the best in the market at either function individually - though the Switch does benefit from a lack of competition in dedicated portable gaming hardware from real companies at the moment.
Comparing the Switch to PS4 or Xbone is like comparing an AR-15 to a sniper rifle and a handgun and complaining that it lacks the range of the sniper rifle or the small size of the handgun.

@sixrings If you're unhappy with your current level of disposable income, perhaps it'd be more constructive to actually do something about it IRL than getting jealous at people online.
Power consoles aren't expensive unless you need the strongest thing on the market. PS4 regularly goes on sale for $200 or less in the States — often with a game.
As Jax pointed out, every other platform on the market is catering to your preference. Switch, on the other hand, caters to people who don't like being tethered to a TV. Go save up some money and play on a platform you'll actually enjoy if you're so hung up on specs.

The “top 1%”??? You’re telling us you’re a multi billionaire and are sitting here complaining about buying a $200 console?
Come on man.
And so what if others have that problem? Others aren’t the ones complaining.

@JaxonH You highly overestimate the top 1%. At least in the US, you can be there with about 330k a year so... even if you look in net worth, top 1% is actually still just barely below 1 million in net worth for younger people. You look at the overall population and it's around 10M. Multibillionaire is like, the top 0.01% (which is ridiculous that such a thing exists, just saying.)
@link3710 damn. I'm only hovering the 200k Mark. So I'm the 99%. [removed] just got real. Oh wait. My networth puts me over the top with my houses. I can sleep at night again.
My NSO SNES controllers just arrived. D-pad feels good! It feels much more responsive and natural than my other controllers. This may finally be the controller I've been waiting for to be able to properly play retro platformers.
Irony here is for all the people having issues with their Joy Con, mine are working fine yet my XB1X is having the dreaded Disconnecting Controller Issue. To the extent I’m thinking of getting rid.
@sixrings
Well dang, if we're throwing around bucks, I make a cool 40k a year. Not even joking.
Anyway, I'd wager my scraggly neck tie that most "Nintendo gamers" (don't even know what that means) are NOT primarily home console only. I'd bet most people who own a Switch do a little bit of both modes, perhaps why we're not seeing amazing Switch Lite sales until the Holidays when parents and grandparents really start buying the things.
What's my point? Great question. Uhm. Oh, yea. I think your opinions are too extreme. You just keep going to one end or the other without acknowledging the middle ground that most likely captures most people. So I don't think a lot of "Nintendo gamers" (again, what?) are feeling "pain" when it comes to any kind of generation/performance gap. Casual gamers are probably just fine with what the Switch can do and maybe even blissfully unaware of what else is out there. Most gamers who treat the hobby more seriously likely own more than one console or also a PC.
What dilemma? If you can only afford one System buy the one that suits you best. But it isn’t going to play everything and be the most powerful and be portable. In fact it isn’t going to be two of them things. No System ever is. That’s just how it is and is something that needs to be accepted.
If you’ve got a Home system and a Switch, what’s the complaining for? You’re sorted.
@toiletduck@link3710
Ya, little bit 😁 Got carried away with hyperbole highlighting the ridiculousness of what was being said. I don’t keep up with such stats, since it’s rather meaningless to me how much someone else makes. I just checked it, and you need to make about 720,000 a year, though it seems to vary wildly. Top 1% of actual net worth is like $10 million though, which is more along the lines of what I was thinking (worth, not annual salary).
But the points stands. It’s utterly ridiculous to claim to such an income while complaining about something a $200 purchase solves. It’s even more ludicrous to then claim oh, I have one of those after all.
Well then why is this Switch sub being constantly bombarded with the same goof complaints over and over like a broken record. I don’t need to hear “well that doesn’t help us people who like playing docked” every single time someone says they’re excited for a AAA Switch game. Then go play the freaking thing somewhere else

But why not, @electrolite77 ... ? I want a Switch Lite sized PS XBox that plays all the games at 60 fps in glorious 4k on my TV! Oh, & it should cost about £100, too
