Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

@NintendoByNature While I do think SNES is coming next month, I don't think we've seen the last of the NES games and if Nintendo wants to troll people like they did with Animal Crossing last year I could see them maybe announcing NES games for September before SNES games.

@NintendoByNature, I think a person can dream of Mother 3 happening on Switch, and if Nintendo were to announce it in September, I wouldn't be surprised if it is one of the first SNES games to come out to move more Nintendo Switch Online Sales.

@JaxonH Huh, well that looks really convincing. That's a ton of angles to cover. Or if you took it yourself I'll totally believe it of course. Overwatch would be a nice 3rd party reveal for the September direct, especially as a 'launching today' sort of thing.

@Lucarianzx Mother 3 isn't on the SNES though? That's a GBA title.

I'd say the top 3 titles I want are of course the DKC trilogy, but after that (and ignoring the licensed games and games already on the system), Kirby's Dream World 3, Shadowrun, Actraiser, Sparkster, Ogre Battle, Earthworm Jim, Tetris Attack, Breath of Fire or Lufia could be some fun titles to see come over.

So on one hand, Overwatch is well past its prime, but this could be new life.

On the other, the game itself would fit the audience, but would Activision Blizzard's monetisation? Maybe not so much.

Given this is an officially licensed Power A case, I’d say it’s all but confirmed.

Overwatch seems like a natural fit in the Switch catalogue. Super excited for fans of the game

Just about done with MUA3's main story. Don't think I'll deal with the infinity trials right now though; I'll probably try to play through the DQ demo before Astral Chain drops on Friday.

@Knuckles-Fajita I've never played Overwatch, but I thought it was considered one of the best implemented games for monetization? Cosmetics only, nothing that affects gameplay and the like.

So Overwatch and Fortnite are the big battle royale games right? (I only play fighting games online so I don't know.) So at this point switch should be proven to handle MMO games right? Kinda hoping for TESO (I can't be bothered to play it on Ps4 or PC but I think I'd play it on switch)

I don't like multiplayer shooters and not even Overwatch convinced me when I played it on PC. Even with friends, I wasn't having fun.

I recognize its appeal but a Switch port would do nothing for me. However, it would be yet another nail on the "too weak" coffin if it somehow managed a mostly stable 60fps lol. Although I expect 30fps.

@Ryu_Niiyama Overwatch is not a battle royale. It's a hero-based, team-based shooter in the vein of Team Fortress 2 with multiple different characters, all with extremely unique properties and abilities.

I really enjoyed Overwatch back when it was new on PS4. It's been a while since I played it and would happily pick it back up again on Switch. I doubt I'd get too heavy into it, but I like it. Only thing that scares me is I've heard the OW community has become increasingly toxic in recent years.

Like I said elsewhere though, the game I really want from Blizzard on Switch is Hearthstone.

Hate to break the news, but... they actually just made a statement about that where they said it’s just not going to happen unless it’s streaming. TESO is like 170gb with all the updates so, it doesn’t surprise me. Plus it’s super large, really intensive hardware-wise, and probably wouldn’t sell enough to make enough ROI if I had to guess.

Can’t win em all with the good ol’ hybrid system. But that’s ok. We’re getting more than enough as is 😁

@JaxonH ah well it was more of a hope for more western dev adoption. I still long for the multiplatform parity of the gamecube days. I keep saying I will play TESO but I really just want another standard Elder Scrolls. Although the new one will likely be my last.

Ah well too much stuff on Switch as is. I am never going to finish my assassins’ creed story scenario at this point. Darn you Fire Emblem!

For anyone interested in battery of the v2. I played Dragon quest demo last night. I timed myself for 1 full hour on almost full screen brightness and halfway volume. After that full hour battery was at 80%. So if that's extrapolated down to 0%. It would be appx 5 hours of playtime. Not sure if that's normal or better than the og as i never played the demo on my og. I've yet to try botw but honestly, i don't think ill find the time in the near future with how much im playing.

@NintendoByNature DQXI utilizes boost mode when the system is undocked, so it drains the battery pretty fast. Probably half the time it lasts on the New Nintendo Switch.
