Aaaanyways, yeah, I was curious about Youngblood too, but isn't that not out until tomorrow? Not that it matters to me yet, not getting that until I finally finish Doom.

In fairness...I can see that option quite useful. Use of Cortana currently requires Kinect or a headset, whereas a phone will always have a microphone.

That said, I don't see why they need to replace the original option =/

I just pre-purchased Youngblood. Figured..itll tide me over for a bit in the action genre til A.C. used 10.00 gold coins on it so i only spent $20 😊 got some left over credit for August eshop purchases as well aside from AC

Raiden V just released. Really good schmup. There are so many lame schmups it’s hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. But this one is up there with Sine Mora as one of the best on Switch. And the physical edition came with a little mini soundtrack and art book. Oddly expensive though.

m-cable also arrived today
Verdict? Its legit. It really does work! God Eater 3 looks smooth as a baby's bottom. There's still a little shimmer here and there, but I'd say it's been reduced by like 90% or more. I'm really, really pleased with the results.

If this cable was $25-35 I'd recommend it to everyone without hesitation. Unfortunately, it's 3-4x that. So it really comes down to how much spendy spendy you have to blow. But if you can swing it, I definitely give this cable the thumbs up. Free CXAA anti-aliasing equivalent if not better than FXAA, and 1080p/4k upscaling on every Switch game (better quality than the Switch upscaling), on a system where the majority of games dont use AA and render in the range of 480p-1080p, which is where the cable's strength lies.

Hmm, Pillars of Eternity Complete Edition is open to preorder on the Europe eShop. Less than 16GB. It makes me wonder if an announcement of a physical release is on the horizon? Pillars of Eternity II was announced for Switch over a year ago and the publisher Versus Evil has been quiet ever since about a possible release date.

@JaxonH only thing is, with a potential Switch Pro coming next year or the following year that could probably output native 1080p on games that currently output at 720p or 900p, do you think the M cable is that great of an investment? For a lot of people I feel they may be better off saving the money and instead using it as an investment towards that potential Switch Pro. Granted for a 4K TV I doubt even a Switch Pro would do little more than upscale to 4K at most, so the M cable would still have that advantage (assuming it still upscales better than the Switch itself).

EDIT: The M cable would definitely be huge for retro consoles like the PS3, 360, and Wii U — there it’ll make a big improvement.

My special edition Fire Emblem Three Houses just got delivered by Royal Mail! Woah, this box is bigger than I anticipated, not sure why. Also nice to see that even though I ordered from Game and not Nintendo UK, I still got the coin in the coin bag as a bonus.

Ya, just because Wii U, especially a modded one. Or as Lucario said, 7th gen consoles.

Of course, I don’t think a switch pro is coming at all, be it next year or any year. And even if it did it’s not going to get rid of every jaggy. So I definitely see the value either way.

What I did is I hooked it up from my 1080p splitter rather than my 4K splitter, so that everything running into it gets to use the cable (Switch, Wii U)

Wait, why do you have to change the Switch output down to 720 for the mCable to scale it up? Maybe I’m not understanding the process.

You dont have to, but if a game renders at 720p, and you have your Switch set to automatic so it upscales to 1080p, it wont look quite as good as if you set it to 720p and let the cable do the upscaling.

That said, every game I've tried so far looked vastly superior using automatic. But I try 720p for every game just in case. If I find a game where it looks better I'll just make a mental note.

Probably because all the games I've played have rendered higher than 720p. But a game like Xenoblade 2 that's 720p might fare better, Idk. That's according to others though, not me.

It really is a magic cable and Wii games on Wii u look incredible

@JaxonH Okay, I gotchya now. Thanks! I’m gonna have to keep an eye on it. I’ve got Switch hooked up to a 65” 4K, so it sounds like I may notice a difference.

Fire Emblem is just excellent. It’s every bit as good as I had hoped and then some. I’m so in love 😍

I think the best improvements are on Switch games, imo. Older games do get an improvement but they are so low resolution that it’s not enough to completely clean the image up. But with a lot of Switch games the stair casing effect is so granular and fine that the CXAA smooths it out beautifully.

Just tried Marvel Ultimate Alliance and it looks noticeably better than what it looked like the other day when I was playing without the cable. Now I am playing Fire Emblem, and while I have nothing to compare to since I started the game after I got the cable, I’m not seeing any aliasing. Whether that’s due to the cable or the game already having AA, I cannot say. But either way it’s not a problem, because the bottom line is everything looks smooth. And that’s the big takeaway I have after getting this cable. Every single game I play looks smoother and with way less jaggies.

You get a lot of bang for your buck on Switch because the games have a resolution right in the sweet spot of what the cable was designed for, on top of the fact so many games don’t use AA, especially 1st party titles.

@1UP_MARIO I watched the video, but the differences look incredibly minor to me. What am I supposed to be looking for? There's a tiny increase in sharpness, but that's all I'm seeing.

@Ralizah maybe the YouTube video wasn’t the best representation but it does clean up the image a lot and you can notice when playing on the big screen
