I am so happy it's hybrid, it just makes sense for me as I don't get the time to just sit in front of the TV playing for hours anymore, so that has hurt my gaming time a lot. But when we have family and kids round to our place they can all play pokemon in the garden or whatever, and when they go I can sit down and play Zelda BOTW on the TV.
Or on the bus.

For example- just read that quote again and pretend it was pre-launch of the Wii U. Arguably it could fit because the Wii U tries to be a little of both as you have a (semi-)portable screen on a handheld controller, but also changes home console gaming by offering two screens.
Of course, i'm not disagreeing with you, I think at this point it feels the only thing the NX could realistically be is a hybrid device- but it doesn't necessarily confirm it. It just further adds to the degree of certainty we have about what the NX is.
I wouldn't call that statement a confirmation, but it's the next best thing we will likely get until Nintendo goes official on the subject.

So here we have a "secret" meeting where Nintendo is most likely showing off the NX. People are expecting the NX offical reveal soon after but Nintendo hasn't announced anything. What would be so bad for Nintendo to just drop a NX reveal Direct announcement for the next day, one of these days? I don't think a surpruse announcement like that would hurt the system

That looks fake (I really hope this whole detachable controllers thing is fake) the Analog stick on the left side looks flat, like it is drawn to be sticking out but the image was turned so it isn't being viewed from the correct angle. It looks wrong lol
