What makes the lack of NX news all the more excruciating, is that Nintendo has been very active in the social media in the last few days... x)

Nintendo must be really pleased to see the intense demand for NX on their comment sections. Hmm.. Maybe we could use reverse psychology and stop all commenting so maybe we'll lure the NX to come out of hiding?

Ugh.. okay everyone. I'm going to bed. I hope I'll wake up to some NX news tomorrow!

I sure hope so, the lack of reveal is killing me.

To be fair most of that has just been reddit chatter. The only source that said September was the original Eurogamer leak and that was more than a month ago now. Nintendo could have easily shifted the reveal a little bit. Alternatively they could have been told something a bit more vague and have interpreted it as a September reveal. Like if they had been told Nintendo will start revealing stuff about their future strategy in September. Which they have. Or that they will reveal the NX before early October.

The other fairly legit sounding sources after that? Well the WSJ has said sometime before early October. Which again lines up with what Eurogamer has said. It lines up to the point where they could have almost been different interpretations of the same thing. Then there's Emily Rogers who people love to hate for some reason. Frankly a far better source of rumours than people like SMD if you ask me. But again, she's converging on the same date.

If the calendar ticks over to November and we still don't know what the NX is? That's when you can start getting cynical. As it is we're still in the first half of September. Nobody other than Reddit has predicted it would be revealed by now. Outside of the assumption that it'd be at E3 by some.

It's not being pushed back. Nintendo has always said that they'd reveal the NX this year. Which implies that it will be revealed before December 31st. There are plenty of days and months between then and now.

Well given that they've confirmed it's being announced this year and it's September already. Narrowing it down to September, October or November doesn't really narrow it down much. Unless it's a December announcement it's going to be announced in one of those months.

What kind of a rep? If it was a in store rep, those guys don't know much more than the general public. I remember a Nintendo Canada Rep was caught on camera saying Rayman, or some other character that didn't make it, was going to be in Smash Bros.

NeoGAF and Reddit are going to go wild today with all their rumours of the NX reveal that won't be happening. Though I hold out hope for a reveal date being announced.

Uh.. the only things we know:

You know what, I'm gonna stop following the rumor/reveal discussions for now. It's starting to doing nothing but harm to my sanity. :-----D

@Moshugan But you know you can't be a Nintendo fan unless you have no sanity. How else do you think we manage to get through the crazy, illogical decisions they make

One thing to note is that Nintendo always gives their EGX info around a week before the actual event, so if NX is at that event the reveal will be this week or very early next week.

Of course Nintendo's focus there could be the usual Wii U and 3DS approach of past events this year where most games are already released ones with the odd new one like Color Splash and Sun/Moon as well as a very limited access to BotW (e.g. having to win a Smash/MK8/Splatoon tourney to play)

So this gamestop conference today? Are we expecting anything? And what time is it for us English?

@Grumblevolcano Why would they reveal it at EGX, that's probably the least relevant conference they visit. if they're not doing E3, Gamescom or TGS, then I expect they'll do their own event (or a Direct).

@DjLewe78 I believe it was 11:00 in CA, that's 19:00 in the UK. Don't expect anything though.

@Octane I'm not saying about them revealing it there but rather if it was to be playable there. The actual event doesn't start until 22nd September so they could for example reveal in a Direct or TGS this week and then Eurogamer announce that it'll be playable at EGX.

@Grumblevolcano Maybe, but why didn't they show it two weeks earlier so it could at TGS for example? Assuming there are some third party games in development for it. It doesn't make any sense to skip a big event only to reveal it a week or so later.

@DjLewe78 There's always an excuse to stock up on pizza. Pizza solves all problems when alcohol isn't handy. When you're watching an event, crying in despair at Nintendo or merely just eating for the sake of eating.

A pizzeria would be ideal but there alternatives. Make your own dough and throw a bunch of tomatoes, bacon and cheese on it. Throw it in a high oven. Browse the the lack of NX information while you wait for 15mins or so. Then season with the tears of the now insane redditors
