@DarthNocturnal Nah, those don’t pique my interest either. I think on PS3 the main thing I enjoyed was Little Big Planet and Folklore. Multiplats I played on my 360. I didn’t keep the PS3 long, and haven’t had a reason for PS4.
@ReaderRagfish We don’t have a 3D Mother game, so your argument is now invalidated

Lol most of the good PS4 games are third-parties. Which means they're handicapped for being ""powerful consoles"" compared to PC. Sekiro is going to be vastly superior on PC just like Dark Souls, etc. And other games like Crash Bandicoot have no reason not to run at 60fps on PS4/Xbox.
On a personal level, the PS4 literally only has Bloodborne that is an absolute must-play. Everything else either doesn't appeal to me, are a lower priority (KH and God of War 2018) or are on PC which makes PC by far the better option any day.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
Nintendo and Microsoft are at it again, didn't take long for them to confirm they're at E3 2019 after the Sony announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft's E3 2019 is as bad as X018 if they're not announcing Scarlett though.
There's a few PS4 games I'm interested in, but probably won't play just because there'll be games I'm more interested in on Switch, and more interested playing on Switch. Nioh 2 and The Last of Us 2, maybe Death Stranding but I haven't seen any gameplay and Kojima games are hit and miss (MGSV was immaculate with gameplay yet unsatisfyingly unfinished storywise, Zone of Enders and Castlevania Lords of Shadows not as impressive, though by no means bad)
No way in heck would I touch Anthem with a 10 foot pole though. Same for Division. Online only microtransaction ridden garbage. I leave those games for the casual "buy whatever's popular like Candy Crush on my phone crowd". I despise Metro, there are very few games I actually hate and stop playing because I'm just not enjoying them, but Metro was one of those few games I actively regretted buying. Ace Combat might be cool in VR, but I wouldn't buy it just to play on the TV. Not sure on DMC 5. I may just skip that one entirely since I hear its like $5,000 for the game with all paywalled microtransactions, which you already know are going to affect the balance of the game. Rather just play Bayonetta 3, free of all that nonsense. Won't be spending $5000 on Bayo3, that's for sure. Sekiro looks good- that'll be an Xbox One X purchase. Res Evil Remake 2, never understood the hype for that. I mean ya, it's cool and all- it's a RE game, but it's just another RE Remake/remaster. It'll get hyped up to no end until it releases and people realize it's no different than the half dozen other Resident Evil remakes/remasters. I'd honestly rather just play the remasters coming to Switch with motion. Besides, word is it's coming to Switch down the line anyways. So I'll just wait and see. Same for Kingdom Hearts. Already canceled my pre-order the day a dozen Final Fantasy games were announced for Switch. I'll be waiting for the inevitable Switch version.
What does Nintendo have next year though?
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe love that game. Daemon X Machina now this one looks pretty fun, like Xenoblade X spinoff. Fire Emblem Three Houses strong GotY contender for me Luigi's Mansion 3 probably end up among the best games released all year Animal Crossing finally a proper HD Animal Crossing game, on a hybrid system too. Bayonetta 3 one of my fave series ever, this one is gonna be some proper hype Metroid Prime 4 I take it back. Even Fire Emblem can't touch this one Pokemon 2019 Full stop Pokemom on console and HD handheld, that's historic and it's hype No More Heroes Eh, not sure how I feel about this one, but it looks ok, I'll give it a whirl Shin Megami Tensei V If it manages to come in 2019, it could be GotY material
Not to mention all the multiplats like Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII (finally breaking the chains of Sony exclusivity and debuting on handheld and hybrid), all those Resident Evil remasters like Resident Evil 4 with motion and HD handheld play, which is more exciting to me than half the stuff dropping next year (amazing how what system a game releases on makes all the difference in how much entertainment it brings), Tales of Vesperia breaking the chains of 360 exclusivity, a game I've waited years to play, and now not only get the game but a hybrid version? I don't deserve to be treated so well. Dragon Quest XI which, I wisely held off on knowing it'd be better on Switch, Dragon Quest Builders 2...
Ya. 2019 is gonna be a banger. We might even get some unexpected surprises like a Xenoblade X port, Pikmin 4, Wonderful 101-102 and who knows what else. 3rd parties drastically increased their output on Switch in 2018 vs 2017, and Reggie is talking up support to be increasing even more next year. With every single video game releasing on Switch being actually exciting, just by virtue of the system's features, I'm expecting to be giving a lot of Jaxonian dispositions in this thread next year.
Thanks for the heads up! Got a save started in Pokémon, and checked out the intro scene of Civ VI, but... I gotta go to bed. Like, right now. Getting up in 4 hours for work to train some newer employees. Night Nintendo dudes and dudettes, enjoy Pokémon and Civ!

Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
My hype is melting down like an ice cream in the sun.
The screenshots are at the edge of being ugly.
At this point, I'm going to wait to have more informations.
Aww I might buy Civ tomorrow. Geez gonna have to work thanksgiving to pay for this.

At this point in time, the 5 2019 games I'm most excited for would be:
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Gears Tactics
Gears 5
NSMBU Deluxe
Ori 2
Lots of big unknowns on key Switch 2019 titles put the XB1 titles ahead. As for NSMBU Deluxe, I'm just glad that another game is being freed from the Wii U.
I got a PS3 secondhand and cheap because at the time I wanted to play the Uncharted series and I needed a cheap streaming device. Played the Uncharted series, which I did really like, but the PS3 has just been a streaming device on a secondary TV ever since. Uncharted is all I would have interest for on PS4...but not nearly enough interest to buy a PS4. Maybe in a few years when I can get a PS4 cheap secondhand
I was kinda the same for a long time, although my PS3 has been collecting dust in a drawer since I've owned a PS4. Uncharted 4 wasn't as compelling to me as the first 3 games though and I've read on the interwebs that I'm not the only one. I wasn't even able to finish it. So don't worry that you're missing out on something too much. Can't you borrow a PS4 for a few weeks if it's just for this one game? I did enjoy the hell out of some of the other exclusives (Dragon Age Inquisition, Horizon) and I have a few on my backlog (Witches 3 for example).
Same for Kingdom Hearts. Already canceled my pre-order the day a dozen Final Fantasy games were announced for Switch. I'll be waiting for the inevitable Switch version.
How inevitable is that actually? I was considering putting one of the games for PS4 on my Xmas wishlist, but I didn't because I'd rather get them on Switch eventually.
@toiletduck I'd say the remasters are still in unlikely territory, if KH comes to Switch it'll likely be the XB1 approach of 3 and nothing else. If the remasters were coming to other platforms you'd have likely seen an announcement for XB1 already.
@JaxonH SMT V is a 2020 game. Take it to the bank. No way that's releasing next year. I also have my doubts about Metroid Prime 4, although I have less of a sense of the development cycle for those games.
EDIT: Regarding likely 2019 exclusives...
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe - No interest. Barely played it on Wii U. SM3DW would have been a better port. Yoshi's Crafted World - Looks cute. Not hugely excited for this, but if it's as good as Wooly World was, I'll definitely be picking it up. Daemon X Machina - The gameplay looks repetitive, but I won't write this off immediately. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Looks amazing, from the little we've seen of it. Really excited for this. Luigi's Mansion 3 - Not one of my favorite franchises, but it's good to see it return to home console-level hardware. Animal Crossing - Assuming it's a proper Animal Crossing game? Really excited. I LOVED New Leaf. Bayonetta 3 - I'll probably pass on this. Didn't care for the first two. Pokemon 2019 - Cautiously optimistic, but it doesn't feel like GF has had enough dedicated development time to make this a proper evolution of the franchise unless this has been on the burner secretly for years. Given their negative comments about the Switch, I feel like they must be scrambling to cobble something together for 2019. No More Heroes - Pass. Looks terrible.
@Cobalt Oh I know they have good releases next year, I meant in terms of further announcements.
@GrumbleVolcano Nomura did say the remasters on Switch would be under consideration after KH3 released. Whether or not they'll happen is anyone's guess.
