@Cobalt Actually no, the Switch sold 5 million in the same six months last year. They need just under 15 million more to hit their target of 20 million for the fiscal year, which is just quite possible.

You're being a negative nancy for the sake of it. Even if they do miss their target, they'll be very close to it, and that's still a successful year. So no, the hype isn't "collapsing"

I'm surprised, I thought they would do two more smash only directs, but just this one seems to be it. That's fine by me, can't wait to see whats the last of the game modes

The wording of the tweet is interesting, it says the final Direct before the game's release. That to me sounds like DLC is happening.

Ugh, please no DLC. Hard to see a game as Ultimate when it ships without the intended final roster. Or at least make any DLC free, up to a point.

Don't really care about the Direct, I know enough about Smash for now. Happy to see some Yoshi footage in the Treehouse though; makes me think the release date could well be early spring (or did we know that already?).

@PikPi you do know the "Everyone is here" referred to all previous fighters right?

It has no bearing over any new characters they might want to add later.

@ReaderRagfish Well we did get our first tease of DLC in Smash 4 during the November 2014 Smash Direct. Mewtwo was announced to be a Club Nintendo reward and people saw that as the start to DLC which turned out to be the case.

@PikPi I mean we don't know what the big holiday game for 2019 will be other than Pokemon. I imagine Poke + something mature like Metroid or Bayo would be logical.

Best part about it being ~40 minutes is that they can spend an entire 10 minutes on Spirits mode and they'd still have 30 minutes for everything else, longer than the entirety of the August Smash Direct.

Strangely enough I feel more hyped for the treehouse...

Good news to wake up to. While I was off on my Xenoblade 2 sales predictions by 200k, new Smash Direct and I undershot my Switch sales predictions.

Still though, this is cool.

The next Direct will talking about Smash Bros (I have no interest whatsoever) by 90%, Pokemon Let's Go (I have interest with that game, but i'm afraid of too much spoilers, so i can wait until the game released) and one rated 18+ game (I will turn off the video completely).

I keep hearing Let's Go, gameay wise is like a Pokemon Go/Pokemon hybrid, I don't know how true that is, but with my hatred for Go, the idea turns me off bigtime, so I'm probaby going to wait a couple months, no doubt my oldest daughter will get it and I'll just borrow it for a week or so to see

@Anti-Matter What spoilers? It's basically a remake of Yellow so if you played that then you know what's going on. Everything new or changed has been shown off already

The anti-18 stance is quite strange as well.
