That's cool. Hopefully we get physical editions of Yooka-Laylee and Layers of Fear. Limited Run published physical copies of Layers for PS4, so Switch versions should be inevitable.

I once thought a physical release for Yooka-Laylee was all but certain, but I'm actually not sure how well the game did. I never really heard people shouting from the rooftops about any amazing sales figures or anything. Anybody know? (The game is good, but controls can be frustrating sometimes. Overall I liked it, but the games it aims to emulate are better, in my opinion.)
I think Yooka Laylee just didn't really wow people as much as we hoped it would. Which is disappointing, but I think the general consensus is that it was alright at best. Definitely think a sequel and more time in the oven will do the developers some good, because it certainly felt like a good jumping off point.
@MisterPi If it had released in the first 5 or 6 months of the Switch it would've performed better. Releasing in December was probably the worst month possible. They should've just pushed it to February but the lack of info from Playtonic about how the Switch version was coming along also didn't help. Too many other game to choose from at that point and the price also hurt when you had many games half price or less just as good if not better.

Hopefully Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night doesn't suck. I need some actual Metroidvanias like Symphony of the Night and the GBA/DS Metroidvanias. Hollow Knight is excellent, but it doesn't have the same backdash/general combat of Metroidvania.

So my friend who is picking up a Switch in the next handful of months asked if every Capcom game on the system has some sort of "It's a good game...but..." caveat to it. Turns out, YES!
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers - $40 port of SF2, put all future support on this game selling well
Resident Evil Revelations 1 + 2 - Could have released separately like on the eShop but only at retail as a double pack, forcing a full download of the latter game. Digital only the EU (This will be a trend), but got a physical release on other platforms in the region.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 - Smaller game on cart, download the bigger one. Both come under 8GB total. Again, Digital only in the EU.
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 - See the above.
Okami HD - Digital only everywhere (Despite physical on other platforms) except Japan
Street Fighter 30th Collection - Actually at retail, no download, every region has it. But the pre-order for SF4 is only on other systems and it costs more on Switch.
Resident Evil 7: Cloud Edition - Same game plus all DLC, but you rent and then stream the game. Currently Japan only.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate - A year after Japan and 8 months after World to localise. No known EU retail release yet.

Wow, dude is super happy he was right about a more niche game not getting a physical release, something Capcom has been doing alot for niche, lower selling releases.

Not that any of it matters anyways. Switch is region free, specifically to negate the impact of situations like this. People complained about it all last generation. Well, we have it now. Use it. I've used it for 5 separate games now. All a game needs is a one single physical release in one English speaking territory, that's it. Then everyone can import and play that version. Something we could not do on the Wii U or 3DS.
MH Gen is not gonna be digital btw. I mean anything's possible but, that's a wild prediction there.

Knowing Capcom, I wouldn't be surprised if the physical version only has like half the game on the cart meanwhile the PS4 and XB1 versions are fully on disc.

That's fair. The amiibo would admittedly be a hassle to import.
At least the games themselves are obtainable easily enough. I would recommend finding someone, a "pay pal" so to speak, Who can make orders for you in the United States and send them abroad, in exchange for you likewise making orders for them in the U.K. and sending abroad. As long as it wasn't a constant thing where it became a hassle for everyone I think that's a great mutually beneficial relationship that everyone should strive to obtain.
I buy for sinalefa in Costa Rica and send to him, buying with my GCU discount. I don't ask for anything in return though because there's nothing in Costa Rica I need to import.
