@IceClimbers I definitely think the PS4 version of DQXI is the most likely of the bunch to be localized but NX version will depend on NX hardware sales outside Japan and software sales of the 3DS remakes.
"I think that I want to release a game device that both customers who have much experience in gaming and customers who haven’t played much can enjoy greatly.”
That's the exact same audience that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR CONSOLES have targeted. Nothing's changed.
The Wii U didn't have some "unique target audience" that no other Nintendo console had before - it was a just a console with the worst delivery and execution possible.
@IceClimbers In terms of games? Maybe. But marketing? Everything up until the GameCube was very ''gamer'' focussed. I still remember those ''edgy'' and ''cool'' GameCube commercials from 15 years ago. The marketing for the Wii was completely different, that was the console that was marketed as a ''console for everybody'', with grandma playing Wii Sports in the commercial. There has definitely been a change in target audience.
@Octane Nintendo's current "young children" focus on all TV advertising I think is going to greatly backfire. Here in the UK they only show them during children's TV programmes. Apparently the budget is tiny.
Remember when Reggie tried to make the idea of not pushing TV adverts into something positive? I'll try find that quote.

@FragRed That's just a difference in marketing budget, a completely different issue, but still a problem nontheless. I see ads for Sony, Ubisoft, EA and whatnot all the time; not just on the internet, but in real life, billboards and large posters (in bus stops and such) all over town, but I don't remember I've ever seen a Nintendo ad in real life.
@Octane I don't think think Nintendo will change their budgets that much. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced it further. They seem to think social media and paying for adverts on gaming sites is enough.
It sure is an ugly looking squishbrick (no it's not a real word). I would love to own a PS4 or Xbox but I am going to wait for the next iterations. (NX is a day one buy no matter what it is - the more different the better I say!)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@Grumblevolcano Well there were only three design wins by AMD as far as I am aware, 2 for this year and one for next. And there are apparently 4 new consoles coming out between Sony and Microsoft over the next year.
