Third party game resurgence. Kirby is sliding down, Skyrim shot up there alongside the 3 usual chart toppers. Arcade Archives has fallen down a bit, and FIFA, DOOM and Bomberman are seeing quite a resurgence. Nice to see RE Revelations too.
Also ARMS is there to my surprise. Must be because of the Testpunch

@FragRed Well there's some DLC that hasn't had gameplay footage or release date like the Mario + Rabbids DK DLC, if there's Mario Odyssey DLC in Spring or Summer that would be announced before E3, there's the online tests for Mario Tennis Aces and Dark Souls Remastered which don't have dates, if Spyro isn't PS4 timed exclusive like Amazon is suggesting that could appear in a Direct, if Smash isn't a port a new character reveal would fit well, TWEWY is the only January Direct Mini game without a release date, not many Nindie games were at the Nindies presentation, etc.
There's plenty for a Direct Mini while still allowing E3 to be exciting. You've also got the big question about when will Nintendo reveal info on the paid online service, after E3 feels too late but does Nintendo want to mix in paid online service details into their E3?
Never been a fan of 'walking sims' myself - but I'm always glad to hear that another highly-regarded game is 'making the switch' ..not for me, but a welcome addition to the library nonetheless!
@Grumblevolcano Has Nintendo said anything about releasing Smash Bros information prior to E3? Because if not, then that will be one of their highlights of the event. It’s going to be what they release alongside or soon after the online subscription so makes sense to give it the big E3 full on reveal treatment.
As for the rest of the things you mentioned, yeah I can see a mini Direct being possible to have such announcements. The only thing I don’t think will happen is Spyro being not a timed exclusive. After how successful Crash Bandicoot was and still is for Sony, they would be foolish to miss that trick a second time.

@FragRed A specific-game Nintendo Direct could always happen. The most likely suspects are Pokemon and Super Smash Bros. In fact, Pokemon generations have been recently revealed in their own Directs instead of in E3 or other conferences, so if there is a new Pokemon generation starting later this year I fully expect Pokemon to get its own Direct sometime soon.
A general Nintendo Direct Mini, though? Probably not happening. There's no need.
Looks like we might be getting the Spyro hmmmm. Well, still not 100% sure though, we'll see. After all Xbox One already got their Amazon page listing...
Even if people know 100% for sure it's coming to the Switch it will still cut into PS4 sales. People will wait considering they didnt know anything about this a month ago.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

@NaviAndMii Honestly, Firewatch was one of the best indie games in 2016, and that was an incredible year for indie games, such as Hyper Light Drifter, Inside, Oxenfree, Stardew Valley, Unravel as well as both mine and @Octane favourite, The Witness.
I can take or leave ‘walking simulators’, but Firewatch was something special.
@OorWullie I apologise for being a few days too late in replying, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your detailed write up with regards to the selection of Neo Geo games on the eShop. I bought The King of Fighters ‘98 in the end, which I am thoroughly enjoying!

After crash (I bought on ps4 and never got time to play it) I can wait on spyro. I don't have the nostalgia attachment to them anyway.
