@Grumblevolcano That somehow seems really odd to me. "Nostalgia".....for....Halo? It's barely 14 years old, how is there nostalgia for it? I don't know if that will really cause an uptick of sales. X-Box sold pretty slow, half the Halo players ended up on PC, myself included, until Halo 3 on X360 which was the real "breakout" event for it.
Besides, why play Halo. Cortana is on my desktop RIGHT NOW!

@OorWullie I do like vertical mode if only because you can see the whole table rather well. My eye's aren't as good as they use to be though so I can imagine playing on the tv far more then handheld. I have tried pretty much every single viewing mode and can already tell the tv will be where I do my serious scores.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@YummyHappyPills That is pretty crazy. I hope that means that with the Switch being a massive success, a lot more people will buy Bayonetta 2 than they did on the Wii U. Hell, hopefully it does much better than the first did on the 360/PS3. Would be great for Nintendo and the future potential support of the franchise after the third game comes out.
I did my bit by placing an order. Already had it on the Wii U but never finished it due to a corrupt save file.

@OorWullie Nice to read your perspective! A new F-Zero would we awesome haha! I also believe we will get DLC for Odyssey. As much as I like to see a new Pokémon, I think it's a bit too much after Sun & Moon in 2016 and the Ultra versions in 2017. Maybe it's for the better that the core franchise takes a year off, to return with a bang and introduce the new gen Pokémon. A spin-off title could come to Switch in 2018.
My guesses for 2018 besides the confirmed Kirby: Star Allies, Yoshi and Fire Emblem are Pikmin 4, Super Mario Maker, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros. and whatever Retro Studios is working on. I also expect to see an HD remastered version of the Metroid Prime Trilogy and a port of DKC: Tropical Freeze.
As for 2019, I see Metroid Prime 4 launching early on in that year. Expect to see Bayonetta 3 in 2019 and Pokémon as a Holiday 2019 title. I also think we'll see a new installment of the Mario and Luigi or Paper Mario franchise. A HD collection of The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword would we nice as well.
Is this crazy thinking? Maybe if we get the sequel to ARMS titled: ARMS + LEGS
@Oubie Yeah that is slightly crazy thinking. Definitely don't think we will see anything from Zelda even if it's HD ports. I think Nintendo porting Bayonetta 1 & 2 in 2018 and potentially Smash Bros 4 would be enough for the time being.
Tropical Freeze port can wait, there already are two 2D platformers next year with Yoshi and Kirby.
If Metroid Prime 4 is 2019, it will be the big holiday adventure/action title to go alongside Pokemon. Bayonetta 3 will also be a late 2019 release. The Metroid Prime Trilogy HD will be spring 2019, that makes sense to help hype people up for the big game later that year.
We will certainly see Animal Crossing and whatever Retro is working on which could be the next big adventure game, perhaps more "mature" in approach seeing it's a Western developer, and that was kinda the purpose of Retro Studios to begin with way back when it was created - creating mature titles for Nintendo's consoles. Nintendo needs something like these to really keep the system selling strong next holidays. Both these games hit different demographics.

Oh my god, yes! I've wanted this for years, but never managed to get around to buying it. I'm so glad I waited! I'd love to see other CRPGs make their way to the Switch as well.
What else will make the Switch? Pillars of Eternity? Divinity: Original Sin?
The sky is the limit!
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah
Torment: Tides of Numenera is their other big game I want.
And that could make way for games like Divinity Original Sin II, if it performed well.
So many great games that would be fantastic to have on Switch. I mean, I own all consoles. There is no game I cannot play. But gosh dang if I don't like games on Switch more than any other platform.

Eyy, Wasteland! I used to gave Fallout classic on my PC back from when I got a hard drive with some (totally legal) games that some service men had overseas. I never finished it, but I love post-apoc games with a style and rough charm to 'em.

Sorry if it's the wrong thread, but can someone help!!!
Had my Switch since April, and went to dock it this morning to charge, but rather than just plop into the dock nicely like it's been doing all this time, it slides down fine, but then instead of just falling in place ready to charge or play on the TV, it now requires some force by me to be pushed all the way down to click into the dock
Do I now have an official faulty Switch?
Has anyone else encountered this and what did you do if anything to rectify it?
I have been playing more in docked mode recently, and don't know if I'm now subject to a bent Switch from apparent overheating?!
I think it's always had a tiny curve in, but from what I've seen, so has everyone else's.
I have heard from looking around today online that some people have complained that the dock is bent and NOT the Switch console itself.
Must admit I'm in a real first world predicament here lol.
I have contacted Nintendo Customer Services and told them, and I have all the information and details etc on how to send it off to them for repair.
The only thing I'm dubious about is a) is it worth is as it may just happen again in 6 months time, and it's not like the problem disrupts my gameplay (touch wood), other than my OCD ness of liking my things in mint condition, and b) all my games are physical, and I've researched and been told by Nintendo today that there is no way whatsoever to move alllllllllllllllllllllllllll my games and save data etc onto a micro SD card, so IF they happen to lose all my data in the process of fixing it, it's tough luck to me That would really infuriate me.
They even put that warning regarding data in the email they send to you as a sort of disclaimer.
What I find as an insult though is they tell you to transfer all your data to an SD card in case this does indeed happen, which is something that can't be done on the Switch (he did mention it can be done if I bought everything digitally), so I can only assume the email that people like myself receive is a standard template email whereby they just adjust the name of the console you are sending in to them for repair.
Makes sense as to why every time they mention the Switch in the email it's all written in capitals as "your Nintendo SWITCH" lol.
