@SLIGEACH_EIRE Given its price, library, cheaper option to play said library, and cost on Microsoft per unit (I think its sold for cost), I expect this is simply a hot product flying. I wouldn't be surprised if it eclipses PS4 Pro though.

So I just noticed that in the current firmware the "share updates with local users" feature that was in the menu but "will be available in a future firmware update", now appears to be active! It was never listed in firmware release notes and since I get my news from NL which never actually reports much goings on, I never saw that it was released.

Has anybody tried this feature yet to see how it works?

@BLP_Software @SLIGEACH_EIRE I'm surprised the X1X is selling so well at that price point, honestly. It's really crossing into PC price points and I really didn't expect taht to be the case, especially with it's library limitations compared to PS4. I don't expect it will continue selling super well, only because for most customers the cheaper X1S option exists. Who's interested in X1X outside the core, that probably already had theirs preordered. It's a nice machine. I'd have bought one if not for the library gaps and the presumably 100GB downloads required

As for its effect on Switch, doubtful. These are mostly selling to existing X1 or PS4 owners upgrading for better graphics or 4k mostly, more than newcomers. Anyone that didn't own one of the above already are probably going the ultra budget route, not the $500 route.

Find me a console that didn't sell well in release week.

There's enough hardcore fans to buy any console at launch. Even Wii U sold 3-4 million before dropping off. Enthusiasts such as myself and hardcore Xbox fans will make the jump.

But even Spencer said if they sell 100 million Xbox consoles, only 5 million will be the X.

@Ralizah I definitely think we'll see all six mainline entries, as well as an Ace Attorney 7 come to Switch. That being said, this rumor comes from Laura Kate Dale, so I'm not putting much stock into it.

One thing about the rumor that would surprise me is that compilation of AJ/DD/SoJ. I feel like they'd release those three separately.

Looking to buy La Noire and I don’t see it on Amazon? Is this a known issue it comes out tomorrow right? I searched la Noire switch.

What difference does it make if I go into my Switch settings and change the region? Wanna see if it allows me to buy games using my UK credit card, but I'm scared...

Don't do that.

Just create a 2nd and 3rd Nintendo Account with matching emails. [email protected] for your gcunitUK Nintendo Account, and [email protected] for your gcunitJP Nintendo Account.

Then you'll have three different accounts for the three major regions. You'll be able to access all three eShops, download demos no matter which region they release in, buy games from any region you wish, etc.

10 minutes and you could have it all set up.

@JaxonH No, I can't, I've tried that. I just get in a loop on the credit card details page if I try to buy from Japan or Americas.

@Qwertyninty That's weird, I couldn't find it either. maybe the physical is coming at a later date?

@gcunit Why not buy foreign eshop cards when you want to digitally import games?

I think they (Zen) just didn't want to get lost with all the other games coming out. Can't say I blame them and I think it's a wise decision.

@Ralizah Overpriced, inflexible and extra hassle mostly. I'm just looking for the quickest way to get Rocket League really, which is apparently available in Australia. But it's no biggie really, my Switch is almost out of juice and I should go to bed, so I can wait til tomorrow.

But I was also just interested for future reference.

I’ve heard that there have been restrictions for cards in eshop different to the region they were emitted. I remember when Sonic Mania was cheaper in the Russian eshop, people with credit cards from the US couldn’t buy it.
You best bet may be to get different accounts and buy eshop cards when you want to buy some game.

Switching to 2018

Amongst all our Holloween festivities, this one’s the tough news to deliver. Despite our best efforts we’ve recently made the difficult decision to push HK’s Switch release to early 2018.
Everyday, we hear the passion for the Switch version, on twitter and in our inboxes, and no-one's keener to see Hollow Knight out on the Switch than us! We know we've been quiet on this front for a while, but we wanted to come to a more concrete decision before making an announcement. We've jumped the gun in the past with this stuff!

We’ve been working hard to get it all polished up and ready (while working on the new content in the meantime), but last week, we took a moment to do a proper assess and decided that we should give it a bit more time. We both (Ari & William) want to ensure this version isn’t just an okay port, but a great one, and our partners at Shark Jump agreed.

Why is it taking us longer than we thought to get the port fully polished? Honestly, it's just that as first-time developers we built the game in some strange, unoptimised ways and to get things running smoothly and consistently we need to sweep back through and rewrite or fix bits and pieces. It's an involved process, but we've learnt a lot for the next project and it's a big relief to get everything cleaned up nicely! The good news is that it's steadily coming together, and believe us when we say it looks fantastic on the Switch's screen! That might be a bit of a tease, but hopefully it's not too much longer before you all get to see it for yourself. Plus, a side-bonus to all this is that all of the optimisations happening for the Switch version will be making their way into versions for other platforms (PC/Mac/Linux).

With Grimm now out in the world for PC, Mac & Linux, our giant, singular target is Switch, and we’re fully-focused on getting this version all tied up and into your hands.
