Switch's biggest draw, to me, isn't the that it's portable or the that it's a home console... it's the fact it's both. And what I mean by that is, being portable is awesome. Truly. Having console quality games playable anywhere? Amazing. And being a home console is awesome too. Nintendo continues providing fans a way to play their games in HD on a television... Amazing.
But it's the fact you can switch between at will that makes the system special. I don't just buy games on the system because "well they're portable" or "well they can be played on a TV". Lots of systems play on the TV and lots of handhelds exist. But only one of them allows you to play a game on the TV and then take it with you and continue playing and then come home and instantly be back on the TV.
It's that synergy between functionalities that makes the appeal of Switch far more than the sum of its parts. You aren't just getting a home console + handheld. You're getting much more than that. The ability to transition between the two seamlessly... That's the real magic of Switch. That's the biggest appeal.

On an interesting note, it seems that Nintendo is publishing Project Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest Builders outside of Japan.
If they're doing the "one big game a month" thing still, I hope DQ Builders isn't going to be one of them (that's listed for Spring 2018 by the way). Octopath definitely will though.
@meleebrawler I'll throw my hope hat into that ring.

NSMB would be fun, but I'd personally like to see a port of 3D World. The game is PERFECT for the Switch with its small, bite-sized levels and need to replay levels as multiple characters. It needs to happen.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
If any Mario game is to be ported, I'd like to see New Super Mario Bros U. Not only is it the best of the bunch as far as modern 2D Mario titles, not only is it the most robust game in terms of content when you factor in New Super Luigi U, it's also a perfect game to set up in tabletop mode and play two player MP.

@StuTwo That's a well thought out arguement. I'll counter that @JaxonH had the right idea, it's not just one or the other, the whole idea balances on both.

@Caldorosso-E I tend to agree. It is more than the sum of its parts and muddying the waters this soon would be a mistake.
Long term I think we'll see them compromise slightly to reach an audience that's reluctant to the message of a hybrid (either way) though. I do think the early success perhaps pushes that day a little further away*.
*but I think they'll want the cheaper handheld option for bundling with Pokémon.
@Ralizah 3D world would be perfect for Switch. It's so well set up for local multiplayer and it was criminally underplayed. I'd take it over a Galaxy HD collection for those reasons (even if I think the Galaxy games are better overall and would be a more fan pleasing option).
Whether Nintendo would risk 'Mario fatigue' by giving us any port next year though I'm not sure.
