@Spoony_Tech
It's a conflict of interest to cut a check to BestBuy corporate executive 😉

I think this person got the seed planted elsewhere. They came asking me about it. It's getting to a point people are being sold on it on their own, and just come to me for advice. That means it's blowing up. Finally reaching that critical point where it's spreading like wildfire.

I'm glad to see it. There was always that niggling doubt after seeing Wii tank after reaching such incredible success, seeing 3DS almost tank after it launched, then seeing the Wii U tank... it feels good knowing the system has a bright future. Finally a Nintendo console to be excited about that's actually really awesome and will have tons of games for years to come. Been a long time coming.

Is taking it anywhere you go really worth paying 60 dollars?

Yes. Personally speaking though of course YMMV. I could have bought it on PS4 or XB1 with The Journey but the portable aspect is absolutely the selling point for me. If I didn't have another system I wouldn't care about the other versions on systems I chose not to buy as they're not available to me. It would just come down to, I want a football game, this is my only option, is it any good? Yes. Sold.

@MsJubilee Not a chance. And it's worse for people like me who don't give a damn about portability. Nintendo want me to buy another console that's barely more powerful than the Wii U, that has less features, e.g. a browser so I can play some more gimped 3rd party ports. Yes the 1st party stuff will be great but they're not everything. When I buy a Switch, I'm going to have to buy extras like a memory card and definitely a Pro Controller because the Joy-Con's are the equivalent of dog waste.

That is why there are other consoles or PC. They are for people who want raw power and shiny graphics, 60fps, 4K etc. Nintendo was never about that. I really like the ports and I do not care if they are less graphically impressive or locked at lower fps.

I also like the joycons so I guess that is also matter of personal preference. People with big hands will not like them because they are not comfortable enough.

All I want are some nice ports of games. Games like Assassin's Creed 3 and 4 were wasted on the Wii U ... I need such titles on the Switch! They just need to ADD and ADD and ADD.

Just preordered Odyssey - woo! Also preordered FE: Warriors - why are people not talking about this one more? It's coming out in 10 days, people!!

@rallydefault I think you answered your own question in the first 4 words of your post.

I really look forward to FEW - but I won't be getting it for a while.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

I still haven't completed all the DLC for Hyrule Warriors. When I'm hungry for a musou type of game again, I'll go back to that one.

I'm not a huge fan of musou: I like the strategy and RPG aspect but the focus on battles in arenas is too big for me. I need more story, adventuring/exploration, and puzzles (in short: fun variation).

I already love the main Fire Emblem games. I don't need the fanservice as well, I didn't like it in FE Heroes and it was getting extremely cheesy in Hyrule Warriors (hookshot the majora's mask moon wtf?!).

Any other kind of Fire Emblem crossover (like Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Deluxe for Switch) I would have pre-ordered in a blink.

I think that Fire Emblem fits great as a musou game though, and it sounds to be just as good if not better than Hyrule Warriors. But I wait for the real Fire Emblem game that is coming to Switch next year. I have 6 Switch games on my must-have list for the rest of this year (and several others that are on my radar), and Fire Emblem Warriors doesn't make the cut. If, however, I need another musou game some day, then Fire Emblem Warriors would be highest on my list.

1. 10-10 Sine Mora EX (presumably/hopefully in the mail today - Edit: IT'S HERE!)
2. 27-10 Super Mario Odyssey (preordered)
3. 14-11 L.A. Noire (preordered)
4. 17-11 Skyrim
5. 01-12 Xenoblade Chronicles 2
6. 15-12 DOOM

Well my copy of Sine Mora is on its way, I wonder if those issues in the original digital release were fixed? Either way it only jmpcted coop play so probably will never encounter them.

It is a big shame about the timing of FE Warriors, especially as not only does the game look very fun but also performance mode is something Nintendo should add as a recommendation to potential Switch developers if the normal mode of games don't already reach 60fps.

I have Zero interest in FEW. Hyrule Warriors was more then enough to satisfy me. Plus Zelda means so much more to me then FE.

Same, I hope we can get a Switch HW port. I wish I was into Fire Emblem, though, cuz FEW looks like it's an absolute blast for those invested in the franchise

I agree, I've still so much left to do in that game and the DLC to get through.

Can't say I've heard of the game before now but good god is that character model look like it came from a PS3 alpha build of a game.

Game itself looks neato, though.

The Switch port of the first Syberia game is already known for some time, and comes out this month.

Both games lead up to the brand new Syberia 3 which comes out for Switch as well.

@JaxonH Funny timing, I was reading over your thread yesterday about the portable power bricks, very informative. My car has USB but it's only 1amp which is kinda useless for the Switch, and I've blown out the fuses in my cigarette lights twice now, so something's up with the wiring there but I'm not paying to fix it. You ever come across a car holder like the one in the first Switch ad so my kids can set it up between them in the car? I found one for $59 on Amazon but that's not happening. Don't see the point in 1 on a headrest, kids can just hold it.

Have you been telling people to pick up a microSD card? I'm sure you're not pointing them to your $200 one, that would scare off a few customers. I'm probably going 32GB, whatever I find at clearance on Target, they always have a few. We buy most games on cart, so 64GB total should hold us over for awhile.

Your going to be bored at Swtichworld once everyone owns a Switch, you'll have nobody left to sell them too.

@link3710 Damn! My original comment said alpha PS2 game, but didn't wanna be too harsh. I didn't think I was right, haha. Not to say anything about the game itself, I have never played it and would not, so to speak, judge a game by its cover

@rjejr
Ya, I usually say, "If you game casually and buy physical games, you'll never need a memory card. But if you buy digital or plan to buy DOOM and want multiplayer, or Resident Evil Revelations 2 or NBA 2k18, you'll want a memory card. Usually I say go for a 32gb for $10 and double your space, but people who buy more games should opt for a 128gb. For you? I'd say get a 64gb at the minimum. You're gonna use more than you think. People always do.

@MsJubilee
Is taking it anywhere you go really worth paying 60 dollars?

Considering people were paying $100 for a Wii U and 3DS version or PS4 and Vita version to get combined console/handheld play, I'd say most certainly. And that was extremely sub par, sub-HD, wayyy stripped back handheld versions. $60 for console + handheld and the handheld is exactly the same as console? Ya. Most definitely worth it.

Again, it all comes down to what you value. Portability and playing with others on the spot? Or a story mode in a sports game and online friend invites? Depends who you are. But pound for pound, the Switch version offers the most value, even with missing a mode or two. You're getting a $60 console game and $60 console quality handheld game ($120 total) in one. Not to mention a $60 portable console arcade version to play with anyone anywhere. So 3 versions in 1, really. No thanks to EA, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter how the game got it's value, all that matters is that it's there.
