Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

@Tsurii I saw this on Reddit earlier. I have a concern about how difficult something like GTA V would be to port to the Switch. I know it's a last generation game but I don't know how easy it would be to port to the Switch. There is so much music and voice acting etc in that game that would create problems with compressing to fit onto a 32GB cartridge and I don't see multiplayer being anything like it is on current gen consoles.

@Tsurii Well yet another huge popular game I haven't had the pleasure of playing! Last GTA I played was Vice City. "...and I raaaaan...I ran so far awaaaay...."

@JaxonH Turned out Xenoverse 2 released today rather than Friday in the UK so next week is when you'll see how well it did.

Really? I saw an eshop chart for UK that listed it as like the 12th best selling game (which is what worried me combined with no physical appearance in top 40).

Maybe digital released before physical?

@OorWullie That's the indie game which most caught my eye during the recent Nindies showcase. Been watching the eShop like a hawk in the hope it would show up. You picking it up? I think it may have online co-op if you fancy a side scrolling beat 'em up partner 😉

@Samus7Killer I noticed someone playing Sine Mora EX on my Switch friends list this evening. So it is out there somehow. Perhaps it got an earlier release on an eShop from another territory? Actually, it was someone who has only very recently added me as a friend, so could well be a fellow Nintendo Life forumite I speak of? Either way, be keen to hear whether it would be a recommendation or not.

@JaxonH Must be a retail/eshop split then, that's happened for some other eshop games in the past.

Sine Mora EX was supposed to release today, but no retailers have stock. Nobodies pre-orders have shipped and all the retailers are saying they don't know what's going on.

It's not really clear and the devs have not made a statement.

Well, given that Mario Odyssey and Stardew Valley are my top 2 most anticipated Switch games right now, it would be quite something if they were released in the same month - the month I'm going to undergo a small surgery and stay a week away from work as a result, no less. Something tells me I'll play an extremely unhealthy amount of video games in October.

Stardew Valley looks interesting. Add it to the list of future buys.

I love Sine Mora and have it locked in at Amazon for $19.99. I love THQ Nordic as well. Fantastic company with more and more great games, keeping the spirit of THQ alive.

So, MXGP3 is coming to Switch. Preorders available on Amazon. Got middling to decent reviews on average, but honestly after watching some gameplay I think it looks fantastic. And fills a genre gap nicely. Sometimes you just wanna race dirt bikes.
