Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

Man now i want The Evil Within 2 for the Switch.

I dislike playing shooters on consoles, due to just wanting mouse support, but I will stand by their decision to put Doom on the system without pause.

My highlight was Lyn for FE Warriors though it's very reassuring that Bethesda is supporting Switch more than just Skyrim.

Current gen, AAA ports!! ..the upper limit of what to realistically expect on Switch just got pushed up a notch or two for sure!

The only highlight for me was the new weapon in Splatoon, and hearing that there's more unknown Kingdoms than we already know about for Odyssey. But it sounds like a lot of other announcements got people excited, and that's cool

@NaviAndMii Doom is a technically strong title of what I know, so consider me well and duly baffled.

This was a grand direct, and a great showing from Bethesda. However, Capcom disappoints, but I've already expected as such.

@UmniKnight Well I'll be doing my bit to fill Bethesda's pockets and show these other publishers what they're missing! I'm staggered by those announcements! ..guess we can take my 'dock expansion' idea and throw it out the window!

Hybrid DOOM! Hybrid Wolfenstein! ..game changing!

So much games I want... I'll be broke and probably divorced before end of the year

@NaviAndMii Doom coming, considering it's technical implications, has me question what is truly the limit. Doom is a GOOD looking game. What more can we expect? I held my expectations low, but Bethesda has shot the ceiling off.

Does that Fallout 4 retailer listing seem more likely given Doom's technical implications?

good looking game? probably one of the best looking games. at least on pc on highest settings

@UmniKnight I still have my reservations as to whether it'll hit 1080p/60fps - but, saying that, I'd happily take a slight resolution hit to have it on my Switch - no doubt about it! ..who knows, maybe games like Overwatch and - dare I say - Fallout 4 (!) aren't totally out of the question after all? (..not any time soon though, hopefully - my wallet can't cope!)

Overall this Direct was satisfying. Not surprising (though Doom was pleasant), but definitely satisfying.

Oddly enough, Snipper Clips getting a retail release was the biggest news for me.

But at least you will be entertained.....for a while anyways.

Doom runs on a VERY well optimized engine and uses Vulkan, which the Switch supports. Probably scales down easier than a lot of other games.

Now I'm questioning whether or not games like GTA or Overwatch might happen. Even as one of the people who was talking super positive about Switch third party support this is huge. I didn't really expect to see it so soon!

I really hope Bethesda is rewarded for bringing all these games to the Switch. Nintendo definitely reached out to them crediting Skyrim for a lot of what BotW did with its direction.

Now I needs my Fallout and hope there is the market for them.

Best part of the Direct beside Doom and Wolfenstein was of course buff Dedede

@NaviAndMii The scope is beyond what I imagined, that's a given. I'm trying Octopath right now. One of the MC's is voiced by Patrick Seitz, aka I'm sold. Gimme!

@skywake overwatch wont happen. They woulda announced it already. Plus they won't optimize 4 different versions and the voice chat switch uses is too archaic and not sophisticated enough for Overwatch.
