I like to thank the mods for giving the off topic of discussion some leeway! No one forced any views on anyone and everyone was respectful. It's good to know we can have a conversation like that and not get out of hand!

I do however find that many of the social objectives of Christianity and Islam (and other religions) are laudable and sensible. The ideas of charity, of love etc. codified in the bible are truly inspiring ideas and concepts that the bible frames in a very universal way.

Responding to this point even with the risk of detailing this thread any further than needed. I'd argue that any belief system whether it's religious, political or whatever can be both "good" and "evil". The fact that people think of religion as being inherently good is what can make it pretty dangerous. That's how cults are born.

Not saying all religion is like that but it doesn't take much to turn "god said" into "god told me". And when you stop and think about it "god told me" is effectively "I said". If you don't question it because it's "god" then you're effectively just obeying orders. It's a fine line easily crossed.

@skywake I agree with that. I won't name names, but there are definitely religions (one in particular) that are very big threats to society, and have been threats for a very long time.

Actually i resolved my problem with Splatoon 2 voice chat and game audio problem. I bought a bluetooth headset with a built-in microphone and a bluetooth transmitter for watching TV at night without disturbing my family and i made a test. I attached the transmitter to the stereo (attached to the TV) and linked to it the headset. Then i attached the headset to my smartphone with a headset cable that i got with the transmitter. Then i tried to register my voice on the smartphone while using on TV the headset and it worked. I was able to talk in the headset's microphone and listening to the TV

@KirbyTheVampire Shame on you for that comment.

EDIT: The moderators have finally decided to move the conversation back on-topic, so I'll edit my post so as not to draw it back off-course...

Hate-fueled comments like the one by KirbyTheVampire above (subliminal or otherwise) are both inflammatory and ignorant in equal measure and have no place here (or anywhere for that matter) - to blame an entire religion or faith for the actions of a few is small-minded and, frankly, deplorable.

@NaviAndMii So you're saying there's absolutely no feasible way that there's a religion that is a threat to people?

Uh oh.

That HORI headset looks horrid at first, but then it starts to make sense when you deduce what is connected to what.
But yeah, no. If I'm ever using VC it'll be without that headset. Maybe. I mean, it looks really cool!

I wasn't planning on getting an official headset or anything but that splatoon one looks really cool. Might actually get it since I don't have a headset like that. Although I'm not quite sure why it isn't wireless bluetooth. I think that it's maybe them wanting to make sure that the switch doesn't run out of battery in handheld mode or perhaps they're worried that it might disrupt the connection with the Joy-con? I'm just hoping voice chat and everything else will be a seamless experience. This is something Nintendo really has to get right considering they're gonna charge for online.

I actually agree with @NaviAndMii - you made a dog whistle comment and that's not something to be proud of.

The big ideas and beliefs within Christianity and Islam are basically exactly the same. Different cultures and traditions have arisen around those religions in different places but the core beliefs are almost exactly the same.

To be fair too - the ideas within Christianity were a threat to Roman society and ultimately transformed it in every way. They continue to be a threat to modern society if you look at it in the right light. But if people want to transform society is that necessarily a bad thing?

And that's about my last off topic post for a while!

Alright, let's get back on topic. It's the Switch thread after all; Broken Switches, Joy-Con issues and cumbersome voice chat, that's what this thread is all about!

@Octane, point taken.

I:m just thinking of how cool it would be to have Smash Bros. on the Switch. Some characters I would want are Springman, INklings, and Metwo.

No chance any of those should get a slot before Goku or Shrek.

How voice chat is implemented on Switch will be explained at E3. Using a smartphone as a lobby for voice chat is a great way to increase the Switch's Internet bandwidth to reduce any kind of lag.

I can imagine using a smartphone, which has a headphone attached to it, and freely roam around the area. Neat idea, if you ask me.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

While the Splatoon headset looks cool (design), it really shows how flawed Nintendo's voice chat system is going to be. Voice chat shouldn't require anything else than just the Switch and a headset (even the PSP and Vita did this the normal way)!
