@ironside1911 I see.. cool. Do the amiibos lvl up or anything like that

Not really, but if you want to see the features of the new Amiibos, here they are:

"The Guardian amiibo unlocks rare weapons and items to help you on your adventure, which include a special arrow and some other objects which could potentially be used for crafting. The Bokoblin amiibo also unlocks rare weapons - a few special clubs, to be precise. Horse Rider Link gives you a special sword and saddle, while the Zelda amiibo rewards with you a fancy Hylian shield. Finally, the Link with a bow amiibo gives you a (you've guessed it) special bow.
All of these items can be obtained in the game without using amiibo - these figures simply give you early (and easy) access to them. You can also use your existing Zelda amiibo figures to unlock other (less exciting) items."

I just found another benefit to Nintendo Switch.

Playing Zelda on my TV, some muppet trips the power by using the kettle downstairs. Lights, PC, TV, all drop, as would my consoles.

But the Switch doesn't use power. It has a battery.

Profit.

Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations

Anyone know if leaving the JoyCons on the Switch permanently when it's docked causes any damage to the system or JoyCons?

@ProjectX1991 Same here, lol. It would be a shame if it did negatively affect them, because it's pretty convenient.

If theyre attached and docked, they are charging and its the only way to do, so it shouldnt be an issue. But then again, same Samsung thought that about their Note phone

The more annoying part of this is that when you plug in your Switch, switched off, with controllers attached, to charge it, the dock turns on the display on the TV - it doesnt happen with all TVs though and sure there are ways around but still the dock should just recognize and charge when wanted. When you then try to shut it down using the controllers, you have to detach them first... funny construction.

Ah, I see. Thanks man.

Also, does anyone know if a tempered glass screen protector will protect the screen from all potential scratches the dock might cause, or could it scratch the screen right through it and only minimize the damage? I'm guessing a piece of plastic wouldn't scratch through it, but I figured I'd ask. I've never used screen protectors, so I'm not sure how well they actually work.

I believe that is a setting you can toggle in the systems menu (the TV auto on/off thing you're talking about).

Go into Settings, TV Settings, and turn "Match TV Power State" to Off. Alternatively, if your TV supports it you can go into your TV settings and change your CEC Device settings, such as what happens when you turn device on (tv on with it or not) or when you turn tv off (system goes off with it or not), etc.

I love it. I have mine set so as soon as I grab Joycons and wake from sleep mode, it turns my tv on and Switches to the correct input. Glorious.

@KirbyTheVampire
Yes, you want tempered glass. Even plastic should protect it fine, but just to be safe I'd recommend glass. 9H hardness rating. And see the article posted about scratches on screen- I posted detailed instructions for the shower method and hinge method to avoid all air bubbles and in sure it's aligned 100% exactly dead on.

Come on, I said SEMI... that has to count for something right? The amount of money I've spent on the Switch launch when I am trying to pay off my student loan debt...well that wasn't very responsible...but at least I saved up for it. (grins)

Im here in Japan for about two weeks now,( vacation and gunpla competition) And honestly aside from lunch day, it seems that theres not that much buzz anymore for the switch, stores are back to showcasing PS4, 3ds and vitas. This is anecdotal but my nephews who live here aren't even talking about it.,

I saw two Switch adverts within the space of an hour last night (UK) - one for Zelda, the other for 1-2 Switch.

That's great! I'm not a huge Castlevania guy, but my brother will die and go to heaven (only to return because he wants to play the Switch) once he finds out.

Alright, thanks. Yeah I did have a couple air bubbles on that plastic protector that came with my carrying case, which was a bummer.
