Ooooooooooohhh i got the call RIGHT NOW!!! Gonna get the Switch later this evening and tomorrow i'll start playing Zeldaaaaaaaaaaa!!! I'm so happy!!!!

This is to those of you that feel hopeless that you cant find a switch anywhere, keep checking the target website, and see if your local target changes from out of stock to limited stock available, i know that yesterday my local target had 15 in stock and sold out, and this morning when i checked the website at like 5:30 am it went from out of stock to limited available, so i hurried myself up to the store and waited outside for an hour and a half, I was able to get 1 of 4 they were selling today. I think some of the targets are allotting an amount a day until sold out, that's what it seems to me, they sold out friday, saturday, and sunday, and now today. Its a first come, first serve kind of thing. Well idk if this will help anyone, but i figured id try.

I can't wait for that stick to come out. I've already started saving money for it. It shall be mine!

Anyone know if the Switch should be turned completely off, or is it okay to leave it in sleep mode whenever I'm not playing?

@ProjectX1991 In less than 1 hour i'll start my 30 minutes trip to get it. I'll setup it entirely and will be prepared for my first minutes with Breath of the Wild tomorrow morning! Can't play tonight just because i have a Dungeons & Dragons session!

Enjoy it, brah. I certainly am. Only thing that's kind of killing the enjoyment for me is how the dock can scratch the screen, so I need to wait for my tempered glass protector to arrive before I can even undock it.

Can't seem to find the Switch anywhere online. My local retailers sell it at $599 without games or extra controllers, can you believe this? I'm not going to support greedy people we have in my country. Might wait for a bit longer to get one.

Y'know, I just picked up Mario vs. Donkey Kong on Virtual Console, and after looking through it's instruction booklet again, I noticed how the story synopsis admonishes DK for not pre-ordering. The timing of the game's release seems a bit coincidental with that in mind...

Might as well ask this for future reference, since I never done this before. But, in case I do decide to get something from the Japanese eShop, what's the best import site for eShop cards?

The power went again today, lost a very large video I was editing for release today.

But when the TV went black, I freaked because on any console that means my progress is lost and itll do a system restore to check for damages.

But Switch just lit up int he dock once the power to it died. The benefit of it always running on its battery.

Also I swear a review site mentioned it only does 720p on TV. That....my head.

Ugh, despite having a switch pre-ordered from day one I still don't have mine. Should be here by next week but this wait is torture.

I saw a review that said it only had a 2 and a half hour battery life. Yeah it does, on average, but only when it's running Zelda, lol. I wish people actually did some research on products before they review them.

@KirbyTheVampire Plus, that's playing Zelda on full brightness and with Wireless on. I'll have you know that playing Zelda with wireless off and brightness turned to minimum (which isn't that dim by the way) last way longer. I should test this, in fact.

@Joeynator3000 I'm no import guru my dear boy (I don't own many imported Pokémon plushies...don't look at me like that!) buuut I'm not sure if PlayAsia do them. That's my first bet. Or Amazon JP. That might help. Anything else youd probably have to navigate the wonders of reading Japanese.

Honestly lets rattle off a stupid list of stupid complaints.

1 - Kickstand is flimsy and breaks off easily - Well yes...its designed to rather than snap entirely. Duh. Think about it.

2 - Its underpowered, isn't like the Xbox One in specs - Ive said this before and I will say it again and again and again until I have to bash it into their heads with a large Switch shaped rock. It /could/ have been that way, but for what battery and form factor and price? Get your little skulls into reality. And I will say this Tegra X1 or whatever it is is doing the absolute finest of work.

3 - Battery is only 2 hours. - Lies are fun right? Its not. Its far more. Just depends on how you use the system and what for. Like anything else in life with a battery.

4 - Only outputs 720p" - That...is just flat out wrong I have nothing on that one.

*5 - Its just another gimmick - If so, its one hell of a convenient one. Need to run? Pull it out of the dock. Power goes out and its docked? Itll keep running no problem. Multiplayer? Don't need another £55 controller (Thanks Sony, Mortal Kombat was sooo worth it thumbs up)

6 - Its too expensive for what it is - And here we go. This thing brand new is still cheaper than my PS4 when I got it. 2 years into life. Its a mobile device. With two controllers. Accessories. A dock. All included. My phone is due an upgrade on April 4th, and I tell you if I wasn't on contract my little computer chip of a brain would crash at the prices.

7 - It has no web browser/Netflix/Whatever - Gaming device first and foremost. I like that. Shows focus and we know how lack of that bit Microsoft in the ass hard. Plus....if youre complaining about it not having a web browser on the internet and you therefore wont buy it....how are you on the internet if its that important? And Netflix I just...cool I guess? Its there.

A lot of complaints about the hardware are either concerns, namely with third party support that's too early to call, and nitpicks. Even then there is a logical, feasibility based, economics based reason for a lack of raw power. Its not just cheap and cheerful like in the past.

And as a mobile processor/GPU combo goes....well its doing more than I expected, and I'm an optimist before launch. XD

I think that gaming device first and foremost is more of a copout excuse as to why the thing is so Barebones right now than an actual intended "feature"

After a weekend playing with the system, I can safely say that this console is a great achievement by Nintendo. Switching between handheld and docked mode really is seamless and the flexibility you get from that is truly liberating. I made great use of it when I had to get to work by train today. I played a bit of Zelda after breakfast, took the system out of the dock when I had to leave and continued to play where I stopped when I got onto the train. The varied control options are very useful. Tabletop mode + Joycon Grip proved handy for playing in bed, while I feel like the pro controller is the best option for longer sessions on the big TV. Handheld mode was best on the go. It also really helps that the operating system is pretty damn fast. Remember when the Wii U launched? How little that system could do and how long everything took? Setting up the switch took me 5 minutes at best.

Local multiplayer is going to be great with this machine. Taking the system to a friends house (including the dock) was super easy and setting the thing up for gaming on a large TV screen only takes a minute or so. I did this with the Wii U aswell, but bringing the console to a friends house is something I'll be doing a lot with the switch. I think that is an aspect of the switch that a lot of people are underestimating. With the portability, fast setup and two controllers out of the box this could really breath life into that scene of gaming.
