@DefHalan
Pants pockets. No. Unless you got some cargo pants or something with very big pockets.
It could fit in a coat pocket. Although i would not without a case.
EDIT: I'd definite say its portable enough to take on the go.
@JonSpangler If I can't fit it in my pocket, it isn't portable enough for me lol. The Wii U is portable, just need to carry it in a bag and need a wall outlet lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan But can you play the Wii U on the go? Well, unless you're able to carry a small generator around, maybe.
We could as well say every console ever made except the Switch is portable. And every handheld can be played as a console....?
So can the Switch fit in your pocket to take it to go? Everything I have seen about the Switch makes it look way too big for that.
I'm doing it right now just fine, as long as you have a jacket on. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I've got my phone and keys in my right pants pocket, the Switch in my left pants pocket, my wallet in my right jacket pocket, and my joy cons in the left jacket pocket. I suppose I'll have a problem once it's too warm for a jacket, though.
Without the joycons attached, it fits very easily.
@IceClimbers Congrats, you deserve it! Everyone deserves one.
Anyone else's kickstand quite fiddly to setup? Not a big deal, but mine is really quite tightly in place and takes quite a determined fingernail to prise it out. Better than it dropping out all the time though, I'm sure.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

So without the controllers the Switch fits in your pocket. Well when I want to play mobile games that don't require controllers, I will stick to my phone.

I've definitely noticed plenty of framerate drops, but I'm never annoyed by them. Of course, the way games drops frames is never equal, and some are more bothersome than others. Other games I've played like Assassin's Creed IV on the Wii U stutter in such a way where I can't enjoy moving around the camera as I walk, and games like Armillo and Pokemon X when in 3D chug along in an almost unplayable rate. This game, though? Unless you're the type where the tiniest mistakes nag at you and you can't help it, it's really easy to ignore that they even happen. As a bonus, moving the camera around is really easy on the eyes.
tl;dr, I deem the frame-rate drops another non-problem.
I am happy to report my Joycons work flawlessly! Honestly, they do.
I tried behind the back, covered in a fist, all that, and did so while standing at the far end of my room and even had them pointing the opposite direction... didn't skip a beat in the calibration screen.
I'm not guaranteeing that's going to be the case for everyone but... just for posterity so that if people do have problems we can compare, I'm using grey Joycons and updated the system with both attached to the Switch. I also went through 2 system updates for some reason. When I stuck my 256gb microSD in it said it needed a system update, so I had to do another one.
Yeah they work absolutely fine and I couldn't be happier!

They will look on Me whom they pierced
@DefHalan At least for many it will be possible since they made the joy-cons detachable. The tablet itself is about the size of a New 3DS XL or a PS Vita. The joy-cons are pretty small so it's depends on whether you have part of a second pocket available for them.
They could have made it like the PS Vita, but then there would be no detachable controllers.
So I told myself I wasn't buying a Switch until later in the year...
I just walked into my local Target and bought one. Didn't even preorder it either. I don't have any self control lol.
That exact thing just happened to me. Walked into Walmart not expecting to get one, and came out with a Switch, Zelda, and a starter pack with a case and screen protector and such. All I need now is a Pro controller and a Micro SD card, but I won't worry too much about those until later.
Haven't set it up yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
