I just checked the replacement parts in the Nintendo online store in the US and, if you ever break the console's kickstand, there are replacements for $3,99.
@JonSpangler If I can't fit it in my pocket, it isn't portable enough for me lol. The Wii U is portable, just need to carry it in a bag and need a wall outlet lol
Well the Switch can fit in a significantly smaller bag and doesn't require you to find a wall outlet for a good few hours. And lets not forget the amount of cables you'd have to deal with unplugging the Wii U from your TV in the first place. The Switch you can just pick up on the way out the door

On my way out the door, all I need to do is find my Joycons. Attach them. Take my Switch out. Find a bag. Make sure the system is secure in the bag. Find a place in my car where the bag won't be sliding around too much but will be easily grabbed. Risk leaving my Switch in the car in the 120 degree heat. Hope it still works. Just so I can play a game for a couple hours.
With my 3DS. On my way out the door. Grab my 3DS, put in pocket. Go. Can play games for a couple more hours.
With my phone. On my way out the door. Grab my phone, put in pocket. Go. Have car charger, so I can charge while driving to and from. Can play games for a few more hours.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan
Odds are your Joycon are connected to the Switch already given that's the only way to charge them. So the only extra step there would be putting it into a case so the screen doesn't get damaged. Which is something I did with my 3DS already.....

Guys!
If there's anyone from Latin America here, the American eShop now accepts credit cards that aren't emitted in the US! No more buying those pesky prepaid cards!
This is perfect, I can pay the amount I want.... but its terrible because now I can fall into those impulse buys xD
@skywake You and I are different people with different experiences and different expectations. I asked a particular question for a reason. I didn't ask if the system was portable, to some that answer would be a yes. I asked if it fit in your pocket and I got complicated answers of how if you break it apart and have more than 1 available pocket and blah blah blah. The answer is no, the Switch doesn't fit in your pocket.

Well, you asked that question and when the answer was "no, not really" you added a bit more. Implying that if you can't put it in your pocket it's about as portable as the Wii U. Because you can fit the Wii U into a bag and play it on the go if you have a power outlet.
I get your point but... it's not really the same. I think both of us know that both of us know this.

I'm doing it right now just fine, as long as you have a jacket on. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I've got my phone and keys in my right pants pocket, the Switch in my left pants pocket, my wallet in my right jacket pocket, and my joy cons in the left jacket pocket. I suppose I'll have a problem once it's too warm for a jacket, though.
Without the joycons attached, it fits very easily.
Which is kinda a ridiculous answer. So I had a ridiculous reply.

I was really looking forward to playing Breath of the Wild today. I had the game pre-ordered along with the Switch and everything.
As it turns out, my game's cartridge is damaged. One of the points is off-center, making it completely unreadable. I am not certain if I can get this replaced or even returned with a refund. Either way, I'm screwed because Breath of the Wild is in all likelihood sold out in my area.

Needless to say, I am very upset.
You could buy it digitally. That really sucks a lot, though.
I have a charging cradle/docking question: can I leave my switch in sleep mode in the cradle without harming it? I don't want to "overcharge" it if that is possible. Thanks!
Does the USB-C cord that comes with the system and attaches to the dock work as a charger when on the go? Stupid question, I know. Also, just to clarify, you won't need the app to play with friends, right? It kinda seems like you will, since you can't join up with friends right now, though. Doesn't make any sense at all to need another device to do that if that ends up being the case.
Very impressed with the whole system. Everything works very smoothly and feels really good. Very excited to see what the future holds for this console.
I got my switch yesterday with BOTW (of course). In Aus a retailer caller EB games do trade ins so I managed to get $350 off the total price so I'm really happy.
I really love the Switch so far, I kinda prefer it as a handheld though. The screen is so nice and Zelda looks better on the Switch screen than the TV IMO.
I really like the interface and setup was super easy. I also feel they used a better network adapter as I feel updates download much faster compared to my Wii U/3DS and I was surprised how fast it generally connects.
Once Mario kart comes out I'll be glued to this.

The only thing I wish the Switch had was more goofy Nintendoey music and sound effects. The OS looks great, and I'm actually quite glad they're starting more of less from scratch rather than carrying through all the Wii U/3DS baggage, but it does currently feel eerily silent. I found myself singing some classic Nintendo OS tunes to compensate.
With regards to my eShop quest, I managed to download Snipperclips from the Japanese store, and can announce it's exactly the same as every other version, and simply switches itself to whatever your system language is. Current Japan exclusives such as Puyo-Tet and Dragon Quest only seem to be available in Japanese at the moment, which makes sense. The interesting question will be what happens if/when those games do make it over to the West - whether the Japanese titles will pick up English language functionality or not.

I'm very interested in this as well. When was the Tetris game coming out again?
The joy cons are so stinkin' tiny! And I don't care what anyone says, you CAN put the Switch in your pocket boy.
The Joycon ARE tiny. I never really thought my hands were especially big or anything, but after a few hours of Zelda with they Joycon in the grip, my hands are definitely cramped. And the L/R buttons - dear lord those things are tiny little slivers of plastic! I REALLY want a Pro Controller.
I have played a few hours in handheld mode, as well, and that pretty much gets rid of the tiny feeling with the Joycon because they are spaced out so much.
I'm still getting used to the sticks, too. They are pretty small in relation to an Xbox controller or even the old Wii U stick on the Gamepad. I'm also getting used to the right stick being so much lower.
