@JaxonH
I didn't get an invite so going to the public portion tomorrow. But ill be there early. Weather is record breaking highs so any waits wont matter.
To go more on the Capcom said more memory thing correlating with the possibility of the Foxconn leak being true and that rumour of the spec we have being outdated....well a team has one and are taking it apart and allegedly....its a Tegra X2 inside.
I have yet to see images of the chip itself, as soon as it comes in someone, myself or a tech person or whatever can ID it, but they are saying it is X2, it is Pascal, and it lines up with the "New dev kit" leak

Not yet, but you will! (with superior counterparts, not those exact games, obviously)
When Wii U launched, people probably said the same sort of thing. Yet now they love the system and don't want to let go! It'll be same way with Switch. 1 year, that's all it's gonna take.
Btw I don't mean sell off your Wii U, I mean "replace" it as in, get a newer console that's going to provide quality gaming for the 5-6 years going forward. Can still keep Wii U and 3DS, I know I'm never selling either of them... ever.

@BLP_Software
Really? I'm pretty sure Nintendo would be flaunting that fact if that were the case, which makes me extremely skeptical. Especially given other reports contradicting it.
But who knows. Maybe. Either way, games seem to look plenty good.

@JaxonH The answer is actually replace neither, the Switch dock is so small that physical space won't be an issue and I'd imagine trade-in/sell values for 3DS/Wii U are pretty minimal. So have all 3 of course!
That said, I've finally decided I'll just get Switch for my birthday instead of buying at launch (unless I win the GAME giveaway). A month and a week after launch isn't that far away and BotW is the only Switch game I want to play before late April so I can just get it on Wii U.
@Grumblevolcano
Ya I didn't mean replace as in "sell". Just replace in a "main use" sense. Replace Wii U as your main go-to console with Switch. Since... let's face it. After Zelda it won't be bringing anything to the table.
I'd never sell my Wii U, or 3DS. In fact I had to make room since I have a PS4 Pro, PSVR, Xbox One, Wii U and 2 controllers for each all on the entertainment shelves. Had to put Gaming PC on the floor to the right, and Switch will go on the floor to the left.
@JaxonH Well there are reports that say Foxconn is true that dev kits are updated, and information that keeps being traced back to Summer, so it can go either way.
I don't expect them to flaunt it. Remember, Wii U was powerful when it launched compared to what was out, didn't flaunt then either.
My thing is, the chip doesn't matter, but, if what these guys say is true (http://bit.ly/2lYgMjr) then this thing, if a P1 as listed by Nvidia, can, in theory at FP16, do 1.5 teraflops.
Now on a personal note, do I think it will? No. Hell no. As I said itll melt your hands. Could it be FP32? Sure why not. It could also be a cabbage, stuff looks good dammit. As a tech enthusiast and developer I want to know the innards so I can geek out and begin proper work.

Option 1 ; I have a pre-order in Thailand but the shop still does not know when they will receive any stock nor do they know a price yet.Going by their other console prices I can expect to pay around $30 more than the US price when converted.If I take this option,I have to bide my time and hope they call me when stock arrives.Could be next month,might not.I might not get my preferred Neon colour model either.Plus I will need to pay fully in cash.
Option 2 - I also have a pre-order in the UK with Amazon for the Neon model.I didn't get this in till last week and it currently says it will be delivered around the 7th of March.They don't do delivery to Thailand so I'd need to get my mum to send it over and pay the custom fees when it arrives.If Amazon delivered to here like they did with my Wii U,I could have got the custom fees paid with my order so no surprises when the postman arrives.I've been ripped off before with a delivery,had to pay way too much to receive it.If I take this option,i can pay for around half the cost of the console and a game with gift cards I have.I'd still need to pay postage and custom fees with cash though which,going by the Wii U,will be close to £100 on top.This is my best bet of getting the console quickest but with the extra cash on top and the awful exchange rates for me,it will definitely be the most expensive option.
Option 3 ; I could wait on Amazon US receiving more stock and pay for nearly the whole lot with gift cards I've had for ages.I think I've got around $450 of them so with those,I could order the console,Zelda and Pro controller,have them sent to a friend in the US whose due me money and they can post them over.The only cash I'd need to put out would be for the custom fees upon delivery,probably close to $100.This is by far my cheapest option but who knows when Amazon US will have stock again.Plus with a 2 week delivery it'll likely be my slowest option.
@JaxonH You make it sound like you want me to get rid of the Wii U, lol. Also those games of mine are on discs (except 3U), so...yeah the Switch can't play them.
Anyways I'm getting the system, just not at launch.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
How much cheaper do you guys think the Switch will be during the holidays? I'm not sure if I could stand waiting until then to buy one. I'm seriously considering getting one sometime in the summer.
@Joeynator3000
Ya like I said, I didn't mean get rid of it! That would be blasphemy in my book. You will never see JaxonH encouraging anyone to sell off a console! You will, however, see JaxonH encouraging people to spend spend spend! We call it Jaxonitis, and I've got a severe case of it.

@KirbyTheVampire Cheaper? Not by much. I don't expect a discount for a few years. But it may have bundles come Christmas. I wouldn't be surprised if MK8 Deluxe or Splatoon 2 became bundled with the system.
Yeahh I figured. Maybe when Splatoon 2 rolls around I'll pick one up, then. No point in denying myself several months of entertainment.
I've never been more pumped for a console. So excited to finally have a new Nintendo system, which I haven't had for like 6 or 7 years.
@KirbyTheVampire I'd say it all comes down to how successful it is before then.If it has a good start and continues to sell well over the next 6 months I can't see the price changing for the holidays.I'd expect bundles though.Say a Mario Odyssey bundle for $329.If it flops though then it's hard to say what they'll do.Will they drop the price of the console and keep selling it without a game or keep the price the same and bundle it with a game like they did with Wii U?If you do buy it early you'll get the benefits of having free online for a few months,so that will cover any possible price cut.
@JaxonH The only consoles I've sold are a few 3DS systems, a few 360 systems and a PSP.
3DS and 360 were for upgrades (Blue 3DS -> Smash 3DS XL -> Blue New 3DS XL, White 360 60GB -> Black 360 250GB -> Black 360 320GB), I currently have the Blue New 3DS XL and Black 360 320GB and won't sell either. PSP was simply that after a while I really started to hate the system so just traded it in towards my first 360.
Right now I'm not considering at all about replacing my XB1 and I hope that doesn't change when Microsoft reveals the Scorpio.
Yea, I would expect bundles for the Holidays, but no price cut (but a bundle is pretty much a price cut, so yea lol).
I can't believe I SHOULD (key word) have my Switch next Friday! AHHHH! And I'm getting super excited to play a new 3D Zelda. Holy cow, it's been a long time since Skyward Sword.
@KirbyTheVampire
Honestly? $50 you might save. Either it gets discounted $50 or it gets a bundled game. Either way, savings are likely to be $50. Now, whether $50 saved is worth giving up a year with the system... that's a question only you can answer.
@OorWullie
I know the smart answer would be to wait until Amazon has stock. That's the smart thing to do. But I know more than anyone it's about more than just pinching pennies. If you really really want the system right away (and believe me, I understand) then I'd import it from U.K. and use those gift cards for accessories/games. But it sounds like waiting for stock in Thailand is the worst option of the 3.
@Sinalefa lives in Costa Rica and prices are sky high there. So he has me buy his consoles and games and ship them from the US to a forwarder, who then delivers to Costa Rica. I take off stickers and receipts so he can waive the custom fees (think he's allowed to claim a waiver twice a year?).

I would go with whatever will get you the system the soonest, if you really want it near launch. The way I would look at it is that you'll end up using those gift cards for games or whatever at some point, so you'll get their value no matter what even if you don't get to use them on the console itself.
