Topic: We Need Golf!

I’m desperate to see a good golf game on the Switch. Whether it be Mario Golf or a PGA game, we really need one. Of course online support is a must. I don’t even care about motion controls. Whose with me?

Yeah, I've downloaded the Golf as sort of a stopgap, but we definitely need something more substantial.

The limited budget of the Golf is very apparent, and either I just really suck, or it's haaard. No matter how many times I play the front 9 holes (the easier course) in Tournament Mode (not multiplayer, it's just the name of the main single player component) I just can't finish under par. I always place 15th-20th, and honestly I'd just be happy to finish in the top ten (every time I'm having a good run there's always one hole that screws me over during putting, such as the ball at slow speed passing right over the hole like it's not even there, or somehow bouncing out back in your direction even harder than you hit it in). In general though, even without the glitches I get more bogeys than birdies (and nothing better than that), so I always end up in the bottom half of the field.

Agreed. A golf game would be fantastic. Be it Mario or Tiger Woods/PGA im not fussed. And as for motion controls, at least make them optional. Ill always prefer traditional controls.

...I just remembered, I need to get back into Golf Story again. Stopped playing for some reason, lol

@SWAMPFOOT It isn't exactly what you are talking about, but Golf Story is a pretty fun game.

Golf Story is one of my faves on the system.

Golf Story is fun. I need to get back into it. “The Golf” looked interesting but cheap. A Mario Golf game would be amazing. I think I remember PGA rights being sold to a different studio, so no more Tiger Woods from EA.

I'd say a new Mario Golf is inevitable. Mario Tennis has been out for just under a year now so I expect Golf will arrive sometime next year. Unless Camelot are making a new Strikers game instead.

Why would Camelot make a Strikers game? Camelot develops Mario Golf and Mario Tennis. Mario Strikers was made by Next Level Games.

Now that Camelot is done with Mario Tennis Aces their next game is rumored to be Mario Golf.

Although personally I hope Nintendo would let them make another Golden Sun instead.

I think it would be better to have Camelot working on a Mario Golf game as the Switch has no shortage of RPGs.

Id love to see a golf game come to Switch whether that be Mario Golf or PGA. Neo Turf Masters is worth checking out for anyone who hasn't yet.

I like Mario Golf, but I'd love to see a more realistic sim along the lines of Tiger Woods PGA Tour (or whatever the equivalent is these days).

It's not my perferred game genre, but I heard good things about Golf Story.

@bluemage1989 We haven't had a Golden Sun game in almost nine years. I'd put it more this way: There has been no shortage of uninspired Camelot Mario sports titles in recent years, but there certainly has been a shortage of Golden Sun.

@Harmonie dont get me wrong i love Golden Sun but with all of the great RPGs we have seen coming to Switch in the last two years i dont find myself craving a new Golden Sun game as much as i do a Mario Golf game. In an ideal world we would have both but given the choice id take Mario Golf over Golden Sun right now.

@MysticGengar Golf Story is sooo much fun for me. In the late evening I tend to play puzzle type games, and doing some quick play in Golf Story does it for me now. Something satisfying about outwitting the CPU feels fresh in this game
