I guess they went with the character thing as well, seeing as the switch has no gimmicks to use, which they haven’t before. Maybe next console they’ll use a console specific gimmick again.

I have the same worry. Then again, they wanted to come up with something different to spice things up. Hopefully it works.
And one last thing about the voice-acting: I did like it in Mario Sunshine. Might be a case by case scenario: Sometimes something clicks with you and sometimes it doesn't.
Who’s played Smooth Moves on Wii? I recently tried it out on Wii U, and was seriously impressed by how fun it was. Any other Smooth Move fans here?
What about WarioLand Shake It? This too surprised me as an incredibly fun platformer. For the life of me I can’t understand why I didn’t pay more attention to it until now. I guess I thought it was just some cheap shovelware cash in. But no. It’s an extremely high quality game. I really want to have that game on switch now, or better yet, a new entry.

@JaxonH Smooth Moves was the first Warioware game I ever owned. I believe my family got it used as a kid, and I didn't know how to erase save files, so we had someone else's save on the system. I remember being obsessed with it though.
As for WarioLand, I've never played a WarioLand game, but I heard it was good, so I hope Nintendo revives it one day.

@JaxonH I have not met a warioware game I didn’t like (although Twisted was egregious for being system locked for a while due to the sensor in the cartridge...some of those games have since showed up in later iterations) but I think smooth moves and Touched were my favorites. I used to explain warioware as mario party for single players.
The series gets a bad rep because people make kneejerk assumptions looking at the artstyle and the fact that is microgames. But it has always been a quality series. (I am on the fence about the voice acting though. I like the minimal voice clips. It adds to the “wario is cheap and made his friends make this” vibe. )
Master of disguise is brilliant as well. I tend to like the wario platformers better than the mario ones. As I prefer 3d mario.

@JaxonH I love Smooth Moves, it's my favourite WarioWare game. That one is the pinnacle of the series' absurd sense of humour for me (an example that comes to mind is how the weightlifting game sometimes replaces the dumbbell with an orange, and when you complete it a voice yells 'ORANGE!!'), and the massive variety of Wii Remote control schemes is genius. I haven't played Wario Land Shake It but it's definitely one I want to get at some point.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
I haven't played Smooth Moves, but the fact it was brought up is a good reminder that I still need to track it down!
I like the WarioWare series, though I haven't played all the games. My first game was WarioWare Touched!; in fact, it was one of my first DS games. I asked for it after trying it out at a demo kiosk in GameStop. I was obsessed with that game and played it to (almost) 100% completion. I could never score very high in the Mic levels however; kid me didn't fully understand where to properly blow into the system at the time. Since then, I've also played the original WarioWare Inc. through the Wii U VC, WarioWare Gold, and the Game & Wario spinoff.
I do slightly prefer the Wario Land platformers and have played most of those as well, minus Virtual Boy Wario Land, Master of Disguise, and Wario World. 2/3 are due to platform, while I've heard Master of Disguise...wasn't that great. I do concur that Wario Land: Shake It!, despite seeming gimmicky, is actually very fun. I lucked out and found it brand new at an out-of-the-way Walmart a few years ago. It was much easier to find used by that point.
Currently playing: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind (Switch)
Apparently there’s also a Wario Land game on Virtual Boy that’s pretty good? Why didn’t they release VB games on 3DS where they could display in 3D, remastered in color? It’s a match made in heaven! An opportunity they’ll never have again.
Cant believe I wrote this series off for so long. When I see “mini games” my mind has been conditioned to equate that to “casual shovel ware”. But, once I actually played a game in the franchise, I realized it was actually masterfully done. And the more games I play the more I find myself loving it, and the more excited I am for Get It Together.

So, after playing the demo, I have to say it’s pretty fun.. however I have a few gripes. The game itself is fun, but it’s kind of disappointing how all the microgames are platformers, instead of different playstyles. I get that each character’s supposed to have a new playstyle, but it doesn’t feel as good as the other games.
Another thing I dislike is how some stages render characters completely useless to the point that they make you fail them every time. Right now, 18-Volt is the only character I actually dislike, given how he’s always just sitting, and can’t be moved unless you use his rings to pull cords.
I’m excited to play more honestly, but I kind of wish a bit more variation in how the microgames are supposed to play.

I have just put an hour into the demo and absolutely loved it. I bounced off Gold pretty hard for some reason.
The different character mechanic feels like it may give the series a bit more depth. Each character plays differently and it makes the micro games feel fresh each time. This may change after spending more time with the game but that's my initial impression.
I was on the fence about getting this but the demo has absolutely sold me. Can't wait to get stuck into the full thing.
@VoidofLight Which particular micro games were you failing on? I've yet to come across one that cannot be beaten by any character. I agree that 18 Volt seems the weakest so far though. Wario is the most fun.
I haven't played the demo yet but after watching Abdallah play through it I'm stoked. I love the different characters, and like how some characters can raise or lower the difficulty. That will add a ton of replayability, which is an important aspect for a game like this.
I also like how it's a fresh take. I have WarioWare Gold for all the handheld microgames using touch, I have Smooth Moves for motion based micro games, and now Get It Together for character controlled microgames.

I LOVED the demo. I've never played a WarioWare game, so that's the perspective I'm coming from.
Based on the stuff it shows you after you play, there are only a minutia of the minigames available in the demo (expectedly so). Seems like lots of cool modes and stuff in the full game, and plenty more characters.
This went instantly to a purchase for me after playing the demo. Very fun!

They don't all feel platformers to me. Some of them feel like puzzle games, shooters, physics based games etc... I find the analogue sticks replicate the DS touchscreen surprisingly well! I was really worried it would play badly but it very much exceeded my expectations.
There definitely isn't stages where the characters make you fail every time. You just have to go about doing the tasks a different way with some of them. Many of the stages are actually modified for each character, such as the Escape one which will have rings and stuff if you play as 18 Vault.

It says something on the title screen (at the bottom, scrolling text) about the games being made especially for the demo. I'm a bit confused as I saw them in the E3 presentation and trailer too... definitely the plucking one.
@Clyde_Radcliffe
Oh wow, really? If that is the case, the full game will feel even bigger. Even if not, it seems like there are tons and tons of games they don't show in the demo.
@Snaplocket Wario says voice lines. I've used him for most of the time I've been playing the demo, and he says a couple of stuff like he normally does.

I really in joyed the demo actually, I like the different play style of the micro games this time around, and letting you select characters lets you pick which ones your better at.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
