I’m very new to the Nintendo Switch console, picking it up today and was wondering if the platform worked as follows. I have a young kid, she is 8 and am getting the switch for her to play, also for myself from time to time.

My question is, with the switch, can I have an account for my kid, and an account for myself? The reason I ask if I don’t want my kid seeing say the Blair Witch download as an option, as I will download it for myself, but I don’t want her seeing it as as option to play and her accidentally clicking on it. Is this how it works with the Switch?

Sadly that isn’t an option. If you download a game like that, it’ll go on the home screen, with access to any account. I don’t think there’s any way to hide games unless you get a separate switch. Sorry 😐

The Switch parental controls will allow you to set a PIN code for games you feel are too mature for your kid.

@Shanemorgan2 many games require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to access online multiplayer. If you get two switches, and you need 2 or more NSO subscriptions, buy the family plan. Family plan is cheaper than buying two single subscriptions.
