@DipperMisterioPines because I like bigger boxes for discs, because of achivments and because I can play on normal gamepad without backlash. It also may work better on PS. Even if it's PS4 version.

Played through the demo a 3rd time. I think I got all the recruits at this point except Tatiana, as I am not sure how I want to end that quest.

@AnVold that's fine point. Personally, I find achievements/trophies pointless, and I don't care for the worse resolution and poor visibility during bright sunny days.

So I am guessing aside from Famitsu that there is a release date review embargo?

I would assume the usual couple/few days embargo. If we don't see reviews later today, maybe tomorrow?

@rallydefault Yeah I am just impatient. Took a half day (can’t really take off, off right now) and I am watching the Amazon app like a hawk.

Yea, maybe today! I already have mine preordered for Friday and I know I enjoy the game, but I'm still interested to see what people say about the whole game.

@JaxonH Haha you know me, give me a great gameplay loop and a mostly coherent story and I am on cloud 9. I have played the demo 3 times already lol. And I like to go in and read the archive to better understand the world. Plus it’s vanillaware. I love big franchises but honestly most of my library is smaller stuff so they know how to get me. Plus I love strategy games. A lot. Gaming is best for me if it makes me think…makes me feel. Also it’s bringing back/improving on Ogre Battle. Dream come true.

Mine came early in the mail yesterday! Played it all night. Just taking my time and really absorbing everything.

I still have to say it's not my favorite kind of strategy game - that would go to Triangle Strategy and FF Tactics, as I said. But everything here is just so darned polished and charming, and there really is tons of depth in the unit compositions, and there are a bajillion different classes.

I am slightly disappointed about the "morality" decisions so far, though. Most of them are just pretty predictable cases where if you say "yes," you get to keep the character, and if you say "no," the character won't join your party. I'm hoping that changes as I get deeper, with lots of decisions that have nothing to do with having a character join your team but instead have big impacts on the storyline. We'll see!

@DipperMisterioPines achievements/trophies is good thing for watching your in-game progress. And if it's great game, you may want to get them all.
I care more about low textures and FPS drawdowns as it was in SMT V.

GameStop shipped my Monarch Edition yesterday, but I fear it won’t make it this weekend. I haven’t felt this impatient about a game in a long time. Anticipation Overlord!

I'm really enjoying it. About 10 hours in. It's one of those games where I keep saying "I'll just do one more battle..." and then it's an hour later lol

@Teksetter Had to order mine through Amazon, I no longer trust the free shipping from GameStop - I know I tried in the past to get free shipping only to find they charge me for shipping. That's no way to win over Online Order at GameStop. Amazon at least doesn't lie for free shipping and charge you for shipping unlike GameStop.

With GameStop, I usually just preorder in person at my local store and then pickup there later, and everything is fine.
This time, though, I had pre-ordered a standard edition of unicorn overlord, then switched it to a collectors edition like a month ago. When I did so the collectors edition was no longer available for preorder at the store, but was available on their website, so I went that route.

You would think with a months notice they could give you the option to preorder and then ship to store for pick up on release day, but no such luck. Such blah service is why I’m not surprised their business is floundering lately.

Anyway, I tracked my shipment with FedEx and it should arrive Monday. Fingers crossed!

@Teksetter This is for in-store preorders that one can do. I looked and looked for Unicorn Limited in-store but no options but for online Preorders only. I would've love to get this for in-store but even early days asking they didn't give my local GS option to PreOrder for in-store. I did look months like you did but never say this option show up. So I took my business to Amazon and they delivered without issue.
