I want the Secrets to unlock things. They do in The Golden Mask, Tomb Raider 3, as well as Chronicles, but I'd like to see them do more with them.
Things I'd like Secrets to unlock:
-Old promotional material, magazine scans, official artwork, adverts, fmvs that were cut
-Info on the original games development, and the development of the remasters
As well as "Cheats", such as:
-One for each weapon
-Infinite ammo
-Infinite health
-Infinite oxygen
-No fall damage
-Swan dive from any height and survive
-Choose which outfit to wear, including things like Golden Lara
Tempted to buy this since the announcement, but the funds went towards other games. It's a shame their marketing was so awful and last minute!
It made me think they had something to hide, yet it seems to run great on all platforms? The review embargo was really close to release as well.
Hopefully everyone enjoys it! I know it's a decent price at the moment, but it seems like the prime target for a seasonal discount by the end of the year. I can wait.
Apparently they were putting small bits on like I dunno, Instagram or something? I did see various compilations of short videos and extra screenshots on youtube, so there was extra footage out there, including of the T-Rex that looks way better now, looked a little goofy in the initial reveal. I would've thought they'd advertise that a little better
If someone else's Spanish is better that would be great. But I do wonder why it hasn't unlocked yet, I expected it at midnight. Communication hasn't been great for this game.
This game has the weird effect the Master Chief Collection has – in that the remastered graphics are somehow how I remember the game to be, and the original graphics look like a complete downgrade in comparison.
Maybe my views on this will change as I see more of the game, but I think that's generally a good sign.
Anyone else try modern controls on this? I'm trying to figure out how to leap and grab ledges. The modern controls are nice for turning because you don't have to use the d pad but i haven't quite got sidestepping or falling backwards off a ledge and grabbing it.
@Truegamer79 I tried the modern controls briefly when I first booted the game up. IIRC to grab uses a second action button...ZR?
Overall while I appreciated the novelty, I found them to be more awkward than the original controls given the level design. I've stuck with the original controls ever since.
I tried the modern controls when I was going through Lara's Home in TR1.
It constantly gets me stuck inside a wall when it demonstrates going along ledges. Every. Single. Time.
I'm just learning the tank controls. More of a learning curve, but the modern controls are only weird in a different way. At least the game was built with tank controls in mind.
Putting this down for now. As much as I am nostalgic for these games (esp. Tomb Raider 3), they're very much the antithesis of why I enjoy gaming in my adult life (i.e. to destress!)
Hey all, does anyone know if it's possible to buy a download code of this from somewhere? I'd really like to get it as a gift for a friend, who's a massive fan of the old games, but from what I can tell, Amazon UK barely has games listed when it comes to Switch eShop downloads and GAME has absolutely none. Do we have some kind of online retailer that specialises in digital downloads for the Switch?
@Psycho-Werekitsune IIRC Nintendo UK banned third-party retailers from selling download codes for Switch games a few years ago. Not sure what the reasoning for that is, as they can still sell DLC codes (you can often get DLC cheaper than the eShop price from sites like ShopTo), but not full games unfortunately.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
