As of recent, I know that Level 5 announced their closure of their American operations in general. However, a bit before this ended up happening, they confirmed that Yokai Watch 4 was getting a localization in the west. Hearing the news, I bought a Japanese copy of the game, in an attempt to enjoy a game that I might never get to play otherwise.. but I honestly didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought, due to not understanding Japanese at all. This made me wonder if it would still be possible for them to localize 4 in the west, even if their operations shut down, maybe through Nintendo or something? Anyone else think this might be possible, or that there might be hope, or am I alone in this?

Before Level 5 had their own American office Nintendo use to publish their games outside of Japan but when the released the first Yo Kai being a dud and them choosing not to release the Switch port in the West I'm not sure they will bother.
@urrutiap I'm not following you. It's generally considered a flop in the West, Level 5 even said the dreaded phrase "below expectations" on it's overseas sales. Yo Kai 1-3 are all on the eshop so I'm not sure what's special about 3 being on the eshop.
Yokai watch 3’s physical copies barely existed in America. If it weren’t for the fact that I pre-ordered it, I wouldn’t have gotten the game itself. Mainly because the store I got it from only got two copies, the two I pre-ordered.

@urrutiap Well you are just delightful. The interview is with Akihiro Hino, who is the founder and CEO of Level 5, he’s produced and directed numerous games so he does know jack squat on the topic of Level 5.
Just because a game you like underperformed doesn't mean it’s bad and it's not something to get worked up about.
@urrutiap I figured you were being rude from taking Yo Kai underperforming personally as it is an insult to the game itself or something.
Thing is Nintendo are the ones responsible for the shortage of stock in the first place leading to the high prices on the resale market, if they made more then there’s no supply shortage. It being on eshop is inconsequential as all games are on the eshop anyway.
@urrutiap
Yokai Watch 3 have the eshop version as well when the physical release has been launched. It was since from the beginning, not suddenly Nintendo add the eshop version when the physical release was nowhere to be founded.
@urrutiap
Since i prefer physical cartridge, i will try to find the cheapest price as possible from Ebay, hopefully i can find at least the PAL version as i believe it will not as expensive as the USA version.
But this week i have another chance to try the Japanese version from Tempura version with way cheaper price despite i have to get used to read the Japanese texts.
Just like Rune 4 and 5 is coming out they will put them out because it makes money for english speakers. At this point in time I think developers are starting to realize this is more profitable for them to do so. And NSW will pay to get them.
LEVEL-5 probably was working on localizing it but probably stop as soon as the localization team halted operations. All though i won't be surprised if it comes to the U.S since they f**ked up Blasters and rushed 3 giving the yo-kai terrible localization names.
@Adhik762 What are you talking about? It didn't shut down because "censorship". It shut down because money (or lack there of). It's not that complicated.
@Snaplocket But yokai watch isn’t even related to pokemon in the slightest. It’s like calling a persona game or smt game a pokemon clone, when SMT came way before pokemon.
