@Fizza I know that this is the Switch recommendations thread, but if you don't mind it not being on Switch, I just got an email about there being a new Humble Bundle of Save the Earth type games, 7 for $10. So there's that.

@Xyphon22 As far as I can tell, all the games in that bundle are available on Switch too (and a couple have already been mentioned). Obviously they will cost a bit more on Switch though.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, these are all fantastic!

@FishyS I played A Short Hike back around November of last year and absolutely adored it so I'll definitely be giving the other games you've listed a look as well! (especially Everything; I don't know what it is about it but that name cracks me up XD)

@Allspice Ohhhhh I remember Alba from a while back; that's made by the same people behind Monument Valley right? Looks pretty fun!

@Magician Oh now THIS looks right up my alley. I've never played Powerwas Simulator myself (not yet at least ) but Fresh Start looks like the exact kind of game I'm looking for. The physical version's pretty cheap on Amazon too, definitely gonna keep it in mind!

@Xyphon22 @dmcc0 Don't have the means to access Humble Bundle myself but I'll definitely give it a look if/when I get a PC (provided its still around of course XD).

I was trying to decide whether Everything fit in as a 'nature' game but... it's everything which certainly includes a lot of nature.

After I played that game, I had to create a new category in my game organization files called weird/surreal.

A Short Hike is definitely my favorite game of the list I put above. Abzu is probably second. It's hard to call Everything 'good', but it was certainly an experience.

I'm ironically waiting for Switch 2 to get No Man's Sky since it doesn't run perfectly on Switch from what I've seen/heard.

There is always Tears of the Kingdom for a long game. Or if you like Mario and building, Mario Maker 2 is a game you can dump 100s of hours into.

@Qwertyninty
A lot of 3rd party games on Switch have worse performance / quality than the PS4 or PS5 version.
You can try these long games.
1. Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles
2. Animal Crossing New Horizons
3. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
4. FInal Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age
5. Miitopia

It's still on sale for another day or so, but I picked up Hazelnut Hex while it's 70% off. Technically 10% off when compared to the Steam price, but eh. The pastel art style screamed, "play me".

Good game. Recommended.

@OctolingKing13 sooooooooo, hello again! ^_^
I feel really silly for neglecting a great 9.99 game. It’s my favorite 2D game and it’s called Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, it’s a fantastic combat platformer with cute artstyle, fantastic bosses, great music and ambience atmosphere and a decent 3-5 hour length so not a huge time sink. It only popped into my head because I discussed it in a different thread and realized “oh damn I really should mention that here”. Here’s my more detailed description of the game: https://www.pushsquare.com/forums/ps3/what_ps3_games_are_you_...

I suggest going to dekudeals (sounds like an ad but it's not 😆) The useful thing a lot of people on this site do is use deku as a way to search the eshop because the in-eshop search sucks. You can put in price range, genre, and sort by metacritic score for example:

https://www.dekudeals.com/games?filter[price_range][min]=1&am...

The above gives you platformers between 1 and 9 dollars with high metacritic score. I actually own about half of the first 20 that pop up and they're all fun games. I own several hundred cheap eshop games so if you are looking for something in particular I am also happy to suggest.
