That's cool, @NintendoByNature .... I pre-purchased Chrono Cross on Steam, so I'll play that when it's out! Don't forget to let me know whenever you do get around to FFVIII, it's a pretty good game
Gijoe is on sale for $10. I kinda wanna get it but the game got pretty mixed reviews. Anyone try it? Does it have multiplayer?
I know a lot of people like them, but I really did not like Children of Morta or Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. Morta felt too empty and the pixel art made the levels/monsters feel too similar to enjoy. Sword of Ditto also got obnoxious real fast.
Really did not like Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, it gets pretty hard and it just feels more like a drag then enjoyable. I'm at the point where I want to beat it so I don't have to play it anymore, not because I'm actually enjoying it.
Streets of Rage and Metroid Dread are freaking incredible though. A + for them. Almost every Nintendo first part game I end up enjoying and beating.
I can't decide in which HW game buy.
In general I like a lot the musou/warriors games, these type of games are one of my favorites.
In the case of the DE I like the list of characters and the amount of fan service it have, but a lot of people say is "too grind" the problem is I don't know exactly why.
In the case of AC I play the demo, and looks nice and fun. But I haven't play BOTW and I don't know nothing about the charaters or the story.
Doom Eternal is on sale. I really don't like FPS on consoles but took the plunge at that price and... it's just incredible unadulterated fun! Yes, aiming is difficult without a mouse but the game does help you a bit. And with a few upgrades unlocked jumping from one ripe fat demon to the next to pluck them for that sweet, nourishing glory kill feels awesome.
"nobody saves the world
this game just barely came out buuut with that said i am having so much fun with it i have some small nitpicks i dont like with it but it is so much fun
@Moonfish The single player modes are great but quite short (at least in the first two games, we don't know about the third one's story mode yet). So they're probably not worth buying if you only want to play offline, but the online multiplayer is fantastic too and will keep you busy for ages.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
i like everspace it is a rouge like space game i would look up switch ups reveiw thats what made me not want rebel galacy outlaw and so i got everspace instead
I own and played rebel galaxy outlaw for a few hours. It's not bad, but kinda... boring? Ever samey? Wouldn't recommend. Why not wait and see how good No Man's Sky does for itself on switch? @aresius
I was excited for Switch Sports, then it landed with a whimper, but now I am still itching for some sports titles. I was thinking about Mario Tennis Aces, but it seems a little too complicated for me. Are there any similar exaggerated arcadey sports titles, but ones that are maybe more about the sports themselves, rather than systems layered over those sports?
New user here, first post. I signed up because I don't know where to ask this.
Can anybody recommend a game that offers free form building, sort of like Minecraft (or more like Dragonquest Builders) but without being restricted to cubes? I'd like to be able to shape landscapes freely. I prefer fantasy or primitive themes, but I'm desperate enough to consider sci-fi or whatever.
@Garsh Yeah, getting away from cubes is tough. Portal Knights is another cube builder.
I can only think of two games that skew toward what you're after, Claybook and Lego Worlds, but I'm not sure they have what you're looking for. I dont' know if claybook will offer the freedom you want. Yes, the latter is lego blocks, but it might have more types of building? I could be wrong. That's my best guess based on watching new releases since Switch launched.
@WoomyNNYes Thanks! Neither of those are very close to what I'm after, but they both look very cool and worth getting into for their own merits. Nice picks!
Haven is surprisingly good. Granted I think a lot of the game hinges on being emotionally invested in the couple (very grateful they added a same sex option) but over it’s a nice bit of game design overall.
It progresses at an even pace imo, right about when the novelty of wandering wears off and you want a map, the game gives you one and same with the timing for story progression as it kicks off the real conflict right when the couple (and the player) are getting comfortable. So much of how you level in the game is organic as well (convos between the couple, fixing the ship and cooking). The combat and movement are interesting but easy to master. The dialogue is superb and often hilarious but I do think it requires certain personality types to enjoy. Kay is a biologist and Yu an engineer and it shows, but I am pretty nerdy so they are a joy to watch their lives unfold. Yet at the core it’s a love story about two young adults fighting to be together in a society that would tear them apart. And despite their skills they are young adults in love. They have little tiffs or silly convos and they often seek each other out. It makes them feel like well rounded characters.
The fact that their society has nothing against homosexuality is an interesting juxtaposition (as I am a homosexual so it is a turn on its head to play this couple that don’t have the “traditional” reasons for being torn apart/hated. There are a few other mismatching factors that on Earth would earn them disapproval and I find it refreshing that absolutely none of those reasons are why they are being persecuted) that makes me root for them even more.
Also i wish more games would do character portraits they way this game does. The 3D models still move and emote during conversations so that they and the 2D images complement each other rather than one over riding the other. I also love the idle animations and the filler dialogue. They keep an amusing running commentary. That being said the world is (intentionally) barren and the combat works for the game but isn’t engrossing once you learn the patterns. It is an indie game so I would say wait on a sale but it has been enjoyable so far. I paid full price though and don’t regret it.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
I usually just play First Party titles but I have a few Third Party titles:
Deltarune is a free RPG game that is just as good as Undertale, at LEAST.
Any LEGO game (besides LEGO Worlds and LEGO Movie 2) is amazing.
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is an addicting PvP or PvE Shoot em’ Up with a great story.
And of course the underrated first party titles:
Paper Mario: The Origami King is an amazing RPG with a heartwarming story and memorable characters.
The 4 LABO games are super fun to make and use, the best is the VR Kit and the worst is the Vehicle Kit.
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics has, well, 51 worldwide classic board/card/sport games,
including but not limited to: Chess, Shogi, Blackjack, Toy Boxing, and even Piano.
A lot of thes are my most played games on Switch, and going off of that my most played is over 174 hours of playtime… so yeah I play these amazing games a lot.
