Hey everyone,
I was wondering if you could give me any recommendations for good 3rd person shooters on Switch. I fell in love with WinBack on the NSO Expansion Pack and have been itching for another experience like it ever since. Thanks for your time and have a great day!

@jump I've actually been meaning to pick up Resident Evil 1 HD on Switch for a long time there now, the only thing that's really stopped me is that the file size is bloody ridiculous so once I upgrade my SD card, I'll probably take the plunge. Also, I actually have Splatoon 2! I got it back in August 2020 and absolutely loved it, can't wait for 3.
@Fizza I've only played a little of saints row IV, but I'll second jump. Worthy of a 3rd person shooter rec. And the RE games. And while you can call RE1 and 0 3rd person, they're not Over the shoulder like 4 5 and 6. I'd go with RE4 of all of them though.

Risk of Rain 2 is the closest thing to Returnal we have on Switch, although it might be too difficult if you play primarily solo. But I enjoy recommending it at every opportunity.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,529 games (as of November 20th, 2025)

Toree 3D was a really nice platforming romp for 99 cents. It only has about a dozen stages and you can speedrun/collect all the stars in each stage. Graphics are low-res polygons kind of like Short Hike but even chunkier. The controls and hit detection for the platforming are absolutely spot-on, honestly tighter and better telegraphed than some much higher-budget 3D platformers.
I don't know If it's already mentioned, but I can recommend "Splasher"
A fun and challenging 2D Platformer filled with humor and surprises. You make your way with your paint cannon, try to save your companions, and stop your evil boss, Le Docteur.
I really liked Goblin Sword. Not a lot of replay value once you beat all the levels, but you there are costumes/abilities that you can unlock.
Not recommendation:
For me company man was hugely disappointing. I thought it had great potential based on concept and world, but just boring level design, enemies and simple fighting mechanics.
Most the square games are on sale. I currently have FF 7, 9, X/ X-2, XII, and neo: twewy. Between the rest of the FF games, lost sphear, I am setsuna etc. Anyone have some must buys out of the square sale?
@NintendoByNature I think you already got the best of it. You might give one of the mana games a shot or the collection, worth a try and i found some of them quite nice.
Edit. Oh, you are missing FF8. Then you should definitely get that one, especially for the price
Definitely FFVIII Remastered, @NintendoByNature .... Although I Am Setsuna & Lost Sphear get mixed reviews, you might still like them, too?
I'd recommend the Mana Remakes over the collection, personally but I dunno how much you want to spend, lol
