@Totallynot: I can't tell if you're joking or not, but that's basically the story of Hyrule Warriors, isn't it?

Got married.

If I have the avatar of Triple Q, then I'm joking.

How do you think the FF communities have stayed alive for the past several years? Just like us they talk about past works.

I only like you so much, Morpheel...

If you think about it, grass is what shaped Zelda franchise into the thing we all know of. Cutting grass to collect items.

No.

Without grass, Zelda wouldn't be popular and exist to this day. Grass has created Zelda, and it will end Zelda.

The day Aonuma decided that the Zelda series no longer needs grass, the grass will revolt and take over the Zelda franchise. Grass will cover the land, mountain, dessert, and snow, and will grow taller than ever before. Enemies and bosses will be made out of grass. The grass textures will put the system to the limit. It will be the next Paper Mario/Wooly World. And every game in the franchise following it will also be made of grass. It will be out of Aonuma's hands, if he's even still alive after the rebellion.

And Tingle will be the world leader. Because he has been anticipating the revolt of the grass forever... Then Groose will challenge him, exclaiming a thousand times "THE GROOSE IS LOOSE!"
Oh boy....

God first.

To be fair, Zelda hasn't taken quite the drastic nosedive in quality in the last decade as FF has, so there's a bit more arguing and complaining to be enjoyed in that fanbase.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Hasn't it? Skyward Sword was pretty controversial. To say nothing of Triforce Heroes. Plus there's just been less Zelda games.

Skyward Sword was a step down, but the FFXIII series slipped and fell down the whole staircase.

FFXIV is pretty rad though. Too bad I haven't had much time to play it lately.

Your mileage may vary on Skyward, but I personally liked it while being well aware of its flaws. Plus more recently than that we got Link Between Worlds, which was lovely. As far as I'm concerned there has been no nosedive, although the franchise's peaks of quality to me were easily Majora's Mask and Wind Waker, so it's been a while for sure since I last sat there being in complete awe at a Zelda game... Even though my child self would argue he felt that with Twilight Princess to an extent.

So in a nutshell, as long as Zelda U doesn't manage to suck somehow I think we're far from a FF-type situation for the time being.

P.S. Triforce Heroes was never meant to be more than a spin-off pastime and it's actually quite fun with RL friends. Until it gets brutally old, at least.

I've been thinking again about the Wolf Link amiibo functionality. Wouldn't it seem rather unfair if you have to own 2 different consoles to have everything in an NX version of Zelda U? As from the sounds of it, there's no backwards compatibility with NX and Twilight Princess HD needs to be completed in order to get everything in Zelda U.

@Grumblevolcano: That's a good point. I guess we'll have to wait to learn the specifics of this TP-dependent content to get a better idea. Perhaps the U version requires the data from the TP amiibo to unlock something, but the potential NX port doesn't. Kind of like how if they re-released Smash on NX it might have all DLC characters from the get-go.

Also, I still find it surprising that there's less than two months to go until E3. Time sure flies by sometimes.

Looking back on it, I think ALBW was probably in my top 3. After Ocarina and Wind Waker probably. Really can't think of anything bad about the game, except the fairly light story.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.
