"I get what he's trying to say. The overworld on XC was mostly just monsters and running from point a to b. Those side quests amounted to nothing more then beat thus many enemies or find this much stuff. It was a large overworld for sure and did the game well for what it was but it wouldn't do in a Zelda adventure. Zelda needs an open world that's a nice balance between Skyward Sword where everything was a puzzle and Twilight Princess where it was more point a to b"
Yeah, that's what I meant!
As for the chests: Love the chests. But a chest with only 1 rupee inside is a bit silly.
As for sidekicks: What made Fi pretty lame in my opinion is that she told us exactly what we heard a second ago! Like:
Person: You need to go to a castle via a forest.
Fi: Master Link, next you need to go through a green thing with tree's so you can get to a giant building.
"My son is in elementary school, and he asked, “What is so fun about Zelda anyway?”
His dad is the Godfather of Zelda and he needs to ask this question?
And @Henmii@Spoony_Tech I don't know what to tell ya guys. There were a lot of kill quests in the field, but the colony quests weren't like that at all. There's over 80 quests in Colony 9 alone and less than 30 of them have you killing things. As for maps being point A to point B, I'd have to disagree with that even more. I had a lot of fun taking detours and exploring maps. My second time through the game, I didn't even continue to the next section until I had explored as much of the map as I could. I spent an entire day in Makna Forest just doing quests and exploring.
I'm having a hard time understanding why you would think there's nothing to do in those maps unless you're just not very into adventuring to begin with. If that's the case though, the next Zelda may as well be Final Fantasy XIII, nothing but hallways for the first 20 hours of the game.
Xenoblade is perfect model how you do open world adventure games right.
I don't remember if this was linked here before but...
THE HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE!
Imagine if what they say is correct! Hunting for your own materials, humongous landscape, long day & night cycle, Link being a girl...

Waiting for ShadowforSSB4 to take me up to the heavens.

I would be interested if in a future Zelda game, you had a partner similar to Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. You know, a partner that actually helps you.
Although, this idea might not transfer well into a Zelda game, as there is no ammo or salts. But they could give you magic, hearts, arrows, etc.

Capcom at E3: Guys we're sorry about how we've been treating Mega Man so we're gonna make it up to you by releasing the Mega Man Cancelled Collection with all the titles we cancelled in the condition they we're in just before we pulled the plug. Now who wants Street Fighter X Monster Hunter?
"it doesn't matter. No one should care if he's a boy or a girl. Why is it such a big deal to people?"
If you want to play as girl Link, buy Bayonetta 2! It will have a Link costume!

As I said before I love exploring. I love freedom. But I also like puzzles, something you didn't see in Xenoblade chronicles. If the next Zelda would only be corridors, that would be bad! Twilight princess was pretty lineair in my opinion, and Skyward sword was even worse (maybe because it didn't have a proper overworld). But they promise freedom to chose your own order, so that will make the next Zelda less lineair.
I also wonder about the story. If you can play in any order that probably means less story and cutscenes. I really wonder how they will handle it. But maybe the order you chose also alters the story a bit? I'll wait and see.

Maybe the story will be more dynamic, giving you bits and pieces by doing certain things. Or perhaps story driven cutscenes will be identical no matter where you go, save for the surroundings where the cutscenes take place.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

I have a feeling that this game is gonna handle story like GTA not being mission based but you're doing so much fun extra stuff like finding secrets that you'll forget there is a story like the first game( thats what it was like for me anyway) I'm just really curious about how the temples/dungeons will turn out because I believe some one said the forest temple was the size of hyrule field from OoT? and I'm hoping the water temple will have some of that stuff you play games for you know fun.
