Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
B.) I never saw that in any of her incarnations other than OoT Zelda, and you even pointed out that when her disguise was removed, she was instantly useless.
Tetra from Windwaker was definitely combat proficient (arguably more so than Link himself in that game).
Tetra didn't even know she was Zelda reincarnated until the end of the game. And after her reveal, she was kidnapped. She also loses her awesome personality and becomes the boring Zelda from before </3!
Don't forget that she also helps Link in the final battle against Ganondorf with her bow.
And Twilight Princess Zelda is also combat-trained, which is why both SSB3 and 4 have based Zelda on that incarnation.
Only one big, living city is enough for me. But a few villages wouldn't hurt!
I am still positively surprised that they are going for a proper overworld and lots of freedom. In other words: The things Miyamoto seems to hate nowadays! A link between worlds was the first title in years that stripped of the handholding and gave freedom. And now we get this approach in a 3D title, with a totally new overworld. Its as if Aonuma pushed Miyamoto to the side saying: Stop whining, THIS is what real gamers want! I applaud him for that!
And about the relation discussion: Nobody mentioning Spirit tracks?! At the end they where holding hands! To me that felt very romantic.
"I've heard speculation that that's actually Aryll in the trailer"
Can't be, since Aryll was very light blonde, like Link was in that game. However, Aonuma already said it was just a joke and that they couldn't show a teaser/trailer without Link. So it is a Link. We just don't know his background yet.
Your loss really! The handheld games are some of the best the series has to offer. Links awakening beats Alttp in every corner. And Spirit tracks was much better then Albw, even if it didn't have a free overworld.
No, I was never a big fan of Alttp. I found the graphics to much Mario world and the controls very slippery. Links awakening had a style that I liked, solid controls and proper puzzles. In my opinion Links awakening was the first Zelda that got it right.
The Oracle games are more like Links awakening, and therefore the Oracle games are also great. Oracle of seasons has a very cool season mechanic, And Oracle of ages has the best timetravel aspect in any Zelda yet.
Update: Oh the last comment wasn't directed at me, wasn't it?
Yep, I think that was directed at me. As for my favorite Zelda, that would be a toss up between ALttP and OoT, so it's definitely way up there. Out of the portable Zeldas, I've only played Link's Awakening all the way through - the others I've only played bits and pieces of with friends who have the games. Portable gaming just isn't my forte, I suppose.
"Has Zelda U been displayed in the Treehouse Live yet? I think that's just about the only game that I haven't seen there yet"
As far as I know it hasn't been shown, because it wasn't playable on the showfloor. The only thing we got was that short but cool teaser. I think we have to wait for proper gameplay untill E3 2015. Something to look forward to!
Just re-watched the trailer. Whoever that is shooting the bow is left handed.
I think it's Link.
I don't think that's correct. I'm not an archery expert, but I have used a bow on a few dozen occasions, and I always held the bow with my left hand and pulled with my right (like the person does in the trailer). I'm right handed.
Besides, it's already been confirmed that it's basically Link, so I'm not sure why I'm even bringing that up.
So what do ya'll think: when we will hear more about the game? I fear Nintendo doesn't want to steal Hyrule Warriors' spotlight and will only concentrate on that Zelda-vise. Maybe Aonuma will mention it briefly on an interview, but that's about it. Then on the big direct that precedes the holidays we'll finally get a short gameplay-trailer and Aonuma speaking more about the open-world aspect.
I'm a bit unsure about a demo. If we're really lucky they might put up one for the media around holidays/early next year, but I fear we won't get anything on that front before the next E3. We'll get another trailer around March though, I believe.
Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8
Quick thing about archery.
Technically, you can't tell if he's right or left handed based on how he holds the bow. You should hold your bow so it lines up with your dominant eye, so Link could be left handed but right-eye dominant.

Unless you are ambidextrous (sp) you become right or left handed based on your dominant eye.

Or maybe it's a video game and nobody really cares.
