Man, my coworker is a Skyrim fanatic and this is the game he bought Switch for. I have pledged myself to this game, promising him that I would play it all the way through when it released for Switch.
I'm going to have to work some magic to fit in Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, Doom and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 all in the final 60 days of the year.
But I'm more than up for the challenge 😆

@Tyranexx Yeah researching games is often a bad idea, especially with games like this, since people throw spoilers left and right because almost everyone on the planet has already played it, lol.
It's kinda fun to go in blind and figure out all the mechanics for yourself, anyway. Most people who've played any form of RPG before should have little trouble figuring it all out.
@DarthNocturnal How often would you say you've crashed in Skyrim? I honestly can't recall any specific instances, although it probably did freeze a couple time like quite a few games do.
@DarthNocturnal Huh, that's interesting. It's odd how issues like that vary so much.
And yeah, they are a bit buggy, especially when they're first released. Even though I've had few issues with bugs in Skyrim, I have seen the occasional skydiving animal and NPC stuck halfway through the ground, lol.
I played for 70+ hours in 2011 and still had tons of quests available when I finished the game. On a dollars per hour scale, its definitely one of the best gaming investments out there.
I must've gotten soooo lucky on 360 - I barely experienced any major bugs/crashes at all...and I had no internet at the time, so couldn't even patch it! I did have one pretty major bug, which locked me out of one of the main questlines (couldn't interact with a certain NPC ) - but, aside from that, I got by pretty much unscathed! ..and on PS4 I didn't have a single issue at all, even with a bunch of mods stacked! ..must've been that lucky clover I found!

@MegaTen Nice! That is the one benefit with modern pre-orders price fluctuations and discounts. You get to FUS RO DAH on the cheap!

@Ryu_Niiyama: I'm fully prepared to lose my social life. XD It'll be a similar case, I'm sure, when I get around to playing Breath of the Wild.
@KirbyTheVampire: Precisely! I've dealt with a similar situation with BotW, but that's actually worse since it's more recent. I occasionally see stuff that I don't want to, but usually barring story/some spoilers with mechanics, it doesn't bother me too terribly much.
I may try and catch up with some of the lore in the older ES games, though.

@DarthNocturnal Cool, good to know. I only play on pc so I don't keep up with the modding scene outside of the Nexus.

The only mod I would like, Skyblivion, will never be available on any console anyway, so I don't care about the lack of mods.
The forbidden city was great but I won't have played it again expecially on Switch anyway, I already completed it with the good ending and don't want to use Switch disc storage for it.
The case is beautiful but I'd prefer a carrying case and leave the console "naked" when I play. I'd probably buy a carrying case but not something like this even if looks very good

Personally I'm not fussed about the mods. I don't expect mods in a console game, that's a PC thing to me and is one of the things I look forward to in PC games. With a console, my expectation is no mods, works out of the box, doesn't need new drivers.
Skyrim has a plethora of content to engage you for months if not years. The only mods I ever wanted were graphic enhancements, and those were covered pretty well in the new edition that we're getting.
