I'm not really very interested in mods because they're fanfiction. They'll never have the narrative intent of Bethesda's writers, and they certainly won't have their level design experience.
By the way, Switch Skyrim will probably be the best version of the base game (no mods or VR) because it doesn't have achievements. The Playstation and Xbox achievements only counted progress within individual save files, so it really discouraged creating other characters. I just wish the Switch had a mic so you could do both motion controls and the silly Kinect shout voice commands.
The weird thing is, I expected the bow motion controls to work really well. So reading the Nlife article saying exactly the opposite kinda surprised me. Heck, even TP on wii had great motion control for the bow.
The bow controls work totally differently to the Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess scheme. Those used pointer controls and a reticule while Skyrim seems to have players mine holding a bow and drawing back the string to fire arrows.
Time will tell whether that pays off or not. Something also used optional gyro, I don't recall what but I greatly prefer pointer aiming most of the time.
@Spanjard I doubt the motion controls in Skyrim had much thought or development time implemented into it. Most of the resources were likely used in just getting the port running as well as they could on the Switch. The motion controls were probably added in simply because the Switch could do them.

@Spanjard
I mean, whatever you could do in the other versions will be available to do here. There's also motion for aiming bow, and then there's motion for melee combat which is kind of like Twilight Princess and not worth much, and there's motion for lock picking which is apparently really awesome. And Link outfit from Zelda BotW.
@Spanjard
No idea. Although even if you couldn't, it wouldn't make a difference. Simply don't go swinging the joycon and instead press the button and you won't use the motion

@Spanjard I think so, I have seen the option in the menu in a video, but I think it would be very boring and frustrating to manually change it every time, unless there are more specific options that the video did not show
@MegaTen It makes me cringe so hard when people kill friendly NPCs. Not a good idea, unless you're okay with the fact that they're all unique, and don't respawn. (Unless they're guards)
@MegaTen Skyrim is going to look pretty good on that tablet screen. I'm really glad I didn't get the remastered version on the PS4 or PC now. Haven't played it since 2011, so by the time I get it, I should be ready for another run.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

We're 60 days away. And that time will go fast. Octopath Traveller demo, Rayman Legends, Pokken Tournament, NBA 2k18 and Sine Mora EX all just dropped (and are all good games), and we have FIFA 18, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, Nights of Azure 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario Odyssey and a half dozen smaller physical titles all releasing between now and Skyrim.
It's the only thing keeping me sane waiting for the Bethesda games to drop. I really really want to play Skyrim and DOOM on my Switch (Skyrim most of all, I'd say DOOM and Wolfenstein 2 are equal).

@Tyranexx Agreed, until half the town takes a shot at playing hero. Between dragons and vampires the city of Dawnstar was nearly empty before I said "screw it" and got a mod. I have the worst luck with that city. I also have a mod for guard patrolling so at least that way if an attack happens the cannon fodder can take care of it.
The worse for me is when NPCs rush a dragon as they often trigger the instadeath animations.
NPC: "Oh look a dragon! Maybe I'm the dragonborn and I just don't know it yet. Charge! brandishes Iron sword"
ME: sprinting towards fight with enchanted dragonbone swords No! I'm the dragonborn and I'm level 81, let me handle this! Go inside---sigh watches dragon snap up NPC, shake them like a rag doll and then spit them out

@DarthNocturnal That is one way that FO4 totally benefited from being the later game. I pretty much built military city states all over the commonwealth. You sure you want to raid this town? Half the residents have power armor and there like 40 turrets aimed at every entrance and the place is walled up. Make my day. I wish they'd done more with the settlement system though. (granted I hated FO4 so I could have missed something)
