It's not the Crazy Taxi collection I'm gagging for but this looks like a decent enough replacement, however it's launching tomorrow and I still can't find any reviews yet which is worrying.
The gameplay footage I've seen looks a little rough.
A fair bit of texture pop-in, but the game seems to run fine.
RGT 85 uploaded an impressions video.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

@jump embargo. I'm waiting for reviews too. But I'm not getting my hopes up. I see missed opportunities to add fun touches. I'm open to being wrong, though.
Actually, rgt 85 did a gameplay video like last week. (Edit: I see magician mentioned that above, now. He's always one step ahead!)
Video games are getting as bad as movies nowadays. They just remake ***** that was popular 20 years ago instead of new stuff. If I want Crazy Taxi, I would play Crazy Taxi instead of some knock off.

@Tasuki I think Crazy Taxi is too much of an odd case in this scenario. Whilst most games will have it's mechanics, design philosophies and style carried on in sequels or game it's influenced that has not been the case with Crazy Taxi which is very much a niche that can't be found elsewhere. So if an indie developer wants to make a modern game in that style then that's great in my opinion.
I’d happily play crazy taxi if I could in a modern console. Some people don’t keep every single console hooked up which is why rereleases should happen. But I’m concerned to with the embargo date.
@jump Have you ever tried Snakeybus? It's like a cross between Crazy Taxi and the old Snake mobile game.. you have to deliver people to their location and the bus gets longer and longer the more people you pick up, so you have to avoid hitting your "tail" too.
It's a bit janky, but quite mad and lots of fun! Currently on sale for £6.47 on eShop.
@Anti-Matter What do you think of the Switch gameplay pop-in in that video you posted? The game seems to function ok, but I think the shading & tree pop-in might be distracting & disappointing.
@WoomyNNYes
I heard from the review, the game has some glitches and bugs.
Also, the game just mission based oriented, like Crazy Taxi Arcade, no Free roaming without pressure of time limit.
Fun for several minutes i guess.
Well, not too surprising.
@Anti-Matter at 3:43, the review I posted said there IS a free-play mode without a time limit. He said the game crashed, but not during gameplay; "It crashed after finishing a run".
But if anyone is just catching up, the review I posted above is for Playstation, not the Switch.
It looks so slow and FLAT compared to Dreamcast Crazy Taxi and it just doesn't have the same atmosphere without the metal soundtrack by The Offspring etc. They did a great job with the speech but it's a pass from me.
I again recommend Snakeybus (currently on sale on eShop in many regions, £6.49 in UK) for a game that's a cross between Crazy Taxi and Snake on the old mobile phones.
As I said above, it's a bit janky, but quite mad and lots of fun! The bus gets longer and longer as you drop off customers until it trails around the entire city!
I'm still gonna wait for some more reviews or player feedback before deciding, it's over £30 on the eshop (which is more than what I paid day one for Dark Souls or Bioshock!) so it's not impulse buy territory and I'd expect a decent game for that.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I will keep an eye on Snakeybus. Also The Offspring is punk, not metal! ;p

Oh I almost wrote Nu Metal which probably would've been even more blasphemous. 😂 I was more into pop and UK Garage at that time so missed such nuances, haha.
