Considering that turning airplane mode on turns your Switch's wi-fi off I'm not surprised that didn't work.

On topic of Nintendo Switch Wifi I want to say Nintendo Switch needs updated model with Wifi from 21st century, because my very old phones and very old laptop catches my Wifi way better/stronger then Nintendo Switch. Plus Nintendo Switch won't connect to router if certain amount of device is already connect to the router while I still at that point where I can connect even more device then that to router. So yeah, because of ancient Wifi in console that was released at 2017 online gaming is pretty unstable. So give us new Nintendo Switch model with real Wifi!

MY Router is from 2017 NetGear NightHawk 7500 and it works fine so unless you updated you router firmware this could be a router issue not a Switch issue.
@SwitchForce since router was bought and installed by internet provider around 4-5 years ago, so it wasn't updated at all. Plus I said these things happens only for Nintendo Switch other devices doesn't have these problems.

@SViper It has IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac in it. Sounds like your router doesn't like Switch. Also, online gaming isn't just about the WiFi hardware in Switch.
@daisygurl It's not a Rickroll if you show everyone the video before they click it

@HobbitGamer is that why it has weak detection for Nintendo Switch and limit for devices for Nintendo Switch too?

I believe after 12.0.3 update or after our internet provider changed modem (it's modem that allows connect glassy insides made cable and then from it to connect with router via regular internet cable), because now my Nintendo Switch stably catches WiFi at regular docks place at 2 bars. I only noticed this after 12.0.3 update, so that's why I posting.

Any solution to this? I use my switch lite at home every day, no problems with wifi. Randomly, my son's switch started showing this error code today, no new updates or games recently installed, everything fine on the same wifi network on the other switch. Tried doing the resets, saw another post advising draining to 1%. Currently on fw 14.1.2
@xrayfilms This was the Nintendo Support troubleshooting page for the issue. I don't know if nintendo support has any other troubleshooting pages for the issue. This page has a question at the bottom, "Did this resolve your issue?", be sure to answer that to expand the page. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...
There's something about UK internet providers that this issue seems to mostly occur in the UK region.
I'm in the US, but last I knew (about a year ago), Nintendo Support UK phone number is hidden. The number only became visible at the bottom of the email form. So, using Nintendo support UK contact page(which may point you to EU nintendo support), be sure to go as far as the email form - check the bottom of the email form for the phone number. If the number doesn't get displayed, go back and change the subject drop box to "Other", and check the bottom of the email form again.
*In very rare cases, I've seen a person or two here say that the Switch's wifi hardware failed and had to be repaired/replaced. But statistically speaking, I'd only consider this as a last resort possibility. I don't know enough about the situation otherwise.
