Wow, some brutal levels here, but also very enjoyable.
I created some levels that are supposed to make you feel like you're playing another game at most and give you nostalgic vibes at the least. I leave it up to you guys to determine how successfull I was.
MARIO THE HEDGEHOG? = JHM-LN5-CJF
MEGA MA...RIO? = HVW-991-FWG
MARIO KIDD? = PC4-S2W-XLG (based on first level of Alex Kidd and the enchanted castle)
And a bonus level based on the maybe lesser known but excellent "KID CHAMELEON".
(Warning: This one is hard!)
@oktay Played your Ant-Acrobatics level. I liked it! The puzzles were clever, good red coin level, good optional challenges. I liked how you introduced mechanics with the ants and the thwomps and built on them. It was fun when I played it how it was supposed to be played. Of course, I got the speed run by skipping all the red coin puzzles, skipping most of the ant jumps by using spin jumps (up and ZR to spin, then jump), and using the hidden pipe at the end to skip the boss, which might not have been what you intended.
@sjmartin Played your Mountain Out of a Molehill level. Good one. I normally don't like night ice levels because precision platforming with ice controls is the worst, but this was based around vertical jumps between long platforms, so it worked with the mechanic instead of against it. I like levels that do a lot with a simple mechanic, like the way the moles slide around when they move.
@LockandLuke Played King of the Swingers. I was expecting to be frustrated when loading up a collect 130 coins level with no checkpoints or powerups, but that was actually pretty good. Maybe I'll just do anything when the Mario Galaxy theme is playing, but I didn't have any trouble with difficulty spikes or missing coins. Liked it.
@Dodger Thank you!
Again, nothing was planned out or placed specifically, so long as I could get from one object to another, that was good enough for me, glad you enjoyed it 🙂
@zwetzel4 played your SML level last night and at that time I was the world record holder. Not sure if i still am though. Loved it either way. @sjmartin mountain out of a molehill was great. Not too hard not too difficult. Ice levels can be tricky but this was just right
Here are some of my levels and I'd love to get some feedback on these. Especially on Treasure of the Mountain King and Janky Speedrun #1 levels!
Try em out, PM me with your id and **I'll try your levels!**

**id: LYY-GKF-G7G**

'A really janky one-screen puzzle. Can you figure it out?'
The level is best played with Toad: the idea is you've been kidnapped by Bowser, but you don't want to wait to be rescued by Mario, and you escape by your own means. The level is very accessible and humorous, focusing on indirect death for Bowser's minions. It can be played by children playing slowly and methodically, but the level design is also very compatible with a speedrun approach.
Was fun, felt like a Mario level, thought the train theme was fun. The Bowser Jr. boss fight where you hit blocks he's standing on was good, and I liked the room with all the monty moles in blocks where the more you jump to avoid the ground moles, the more box moles you unleash.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed my stage!
The level is a bit weird: I activated a switch that seemed to trigger a conveyor belt behind a wall, but I never reached the belt afterward. Then the long descend is divided in two: why? It's also really easy to fall, with troll brick blocks in the end. Then, I reached the pole with a blind jump.
Wrathful Wiggler's Walkway
Wiggler doesn't like when whippersnappers like you interrupting his morning walk.
Super Mario World - YF9-1YM-H9G
It's a good idea executed well, I particularly liked the part with the pink coins to collect! Among the potential issues I noticed: at the beginning, the part with the key in the question mark block is extremely difficult without taking a hit (I preferred taking a hit), and the part where the wiggler is supposed to activate a vine is a bit problematic, the wiggler kept coming with me on the platform.
CS9-JMG-L5G
You have to escort a bomb so it can open the next part of the level for you.
It's a good idea, but you should place the burner so that it lights up the bomb at the place it's stationary. I kept missing the burner at the second puzzle and resetting the puzzle, so I finally quit.
I've just uploaded Bowsers Retro Kingdom 2
KRH-BNG-HNG
Fun and funny level, with a trippy homage to Super Mario Bros. IMHO the level is a bit too long and confusing, though, and you could improve greatly its presentation by locking the scrolling so it doesn't reveal the next areas: you can do that with ground or hard blocks covering the whole vertical or horizontal space.
I'm proud to share with you guys my very first level:
Ant-Acrobatics in the Amazon!
[Course ID: YPW-DFB-CLF]
It's extremely impressive for a first level: the level looks absolutely great and is full of great ideas. IMHO, though, the puzzles get a bit too finicky once we reach the Thwomps: moving the ants around with the Thwomps is not introduced clearly and becomes too laborious (I'm thinking of the one with the vertical clear pipe to reach the coin). It's still great, though!
Played plenty of yours, so now it´s your turn !
Hope you enjoy !
QQH-YY5-WRF
It's a good level and I liked it, but I didn't finish it: it could use a powerup (the constant trolling with the question mark blocks is very annoying) or, mostly, checkpoints. I got to the part with the giant Thwomp, it was unclear how to pass it, I fell and didn't feel like redoing everything.
Course ID: 3LS-L2H-YLG
Name: The Spaghetti Factory
The level is ingenious, but in that sort of puzzle level, you should avoid too frequent deaths because it's very tedious to redo everything at every death, and people will quit.
For example, the Koopa falling right on you when you finally go up at the beginning is problematic. The Goomba falling down isn't necessary either, the timing of the spike blocks is a little too strict...
Wow, some brutal levels here, but also very enjoyable.
MARIO THE HEDGEHOG? = JHM-LN5-CJF
MEGA MA...RIO? = HVW-991-FWG
The levels both evoke very well the original games, but the Sonic level is extremely short and very bare.
I enjoyed much more the Mega Man level, which is varied and challenging. It's a bit bland visually and the ending is weird (why make people go through a block one square tall, many people won't think of running and crouching), but it's good!
Molehill originally wasn't an ice level. I had originally finished building the level 2 weeks ago, but it didn't feel right, so I didn't want to upload it when it didn't feel "complete". As I kept working on it, changing some things here and there, removing an enemy, changing the looks of certain things, and it was getting better, and then BOOM it became a snow level. That was a big breakthrough.
Then I changed the aesthetic to night this weekend, and it became an ice level. When I played it then, it felt like that was what it was always supposed to be.

Thanks for taking the time to play and give feedback !
Definitely no trolling with the ?- blocks, a power-up could break the first part of the level !
The big thwomp is a quite simple double-jump !
So you made it to room no.13 ! Checkpoints at room no.18 and 27 !
Guess you´re not a real shaolin yet !
Merci beaucoup, will consider your input on my next levels !
Bonne soirée !

Thanks for playing my level, I really appreciate it.

I've changed the koopa setup, I realize now, that was not the best of ideas.
The goomba isn't necessary for any reason, just an obstacle.
Ultimately I'll be keeping the spike setup and goomba, I like the extra difficulty tbh.
Thanks again for the feedback,
I look forward to trying out some of your levels in the near future.
I'm not one for making harder levels, I like themes or quirky stages, fun stages, but my friend has made a few that I believe were purely made to frustrate me, and they did, so I've tried my hand at my own!
It isn't too long and completely do-able, I'm far from the best Mario player so trying to upload this was not fun.
Feel free to give it a shot!
My levels typically focus on cool aesthetics, while also being fun to play! Not too hard, but not too easy either. Take your time to explore, you may find a hidden area or two! Enjoy!!
A Strange and Unusual World
3NM-T7W-JMG
Where the Fire Flower Grows
5LK-PWD-L4G
I make a point to play and like anyone's levels who like mine.
Some of my favorite games:
Ghost Trick, StarFox 64, WarioLand: Shake It, Kid Icarus, The Legendary Starfy, Endless Ocean: Blue World, Zelda: Minish Cap, Pokemon Snap, Diamond Trust of London, Gyromite, Katamari Damacy, EarthBound, Mario Kart 7, and Sonic Generations(PS3).
@LockAndLuke This nearly veered into slightly too difficult territory, but in the end I really enjoyed the challenge and precision this course requires!
@zwetelI I enjoyed Thwomp Castle, I think I would have prefered a bit more intensity but in general it's probably better to make a level a bit to easy than too hard
@nikozawa very cleverly designed level, it got a little tedious completing the final half but it was rewarding to finish it.
Super Mario Maker 2 courses:

@Simbabbad - Beat both “Escape from Another Castle” and “Dream Convoy”. Convoy was definitely the harder of the two. Loved the theme and design of it. Another Castle was unique and fun. Neat twist at the end!
