@Thundertron55 good question! I would possibly ease away from instant kill pipes to pipes that go to rooms that are challenging but beatable. Alternately have a clear path but make the rooms between each pipe more challenging. I would just try some things see what feels right. I'm certainly not sure what I'd do

@Simbabbad fair enough, the retro games only work with vertical scrolling unfortunately but I would imagine the Tetris part is fairly self explanatory. I did originally have the second checkpoint earlier but it can cause a soft lock due to how the locked boxes work, so I had no choice but to put it later. I will say when you know what you're doing the arcade games can be done very quickly but I take on board what you're saying and it was one of the very first levels I designed. Ironically this revision was designed to make it easier then it was before and I thank you for your feedback

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

Put together a platforming level that mostly uses angry wigglers and sawblades. The meat of the level is a section where you use an angry wiggler chasing you to collect 5 red coins. Hope people enjoy it - I've been making more puzzle levels lately and wanted to do something a bit different.

Wrathful Wiggler's Walkway
Wiggler doesn't like when whippersnappers like you interrupting his morning walk.

@Simbabbad Played your dream convoy level. Was fun, felt like a Mario level, thought the train theme was fun. The Bowser Jr. boss fight where you hit blocks he's standing on was good, and I liked the room with all the monty moles in blocks where the more you jump to avoid the ground moles, the more box moles you unleash.

@LockandLuke Played your ice level. Some parts were really clever, a couple were just annoying (the thwomp by the end door for instance). It's possible I'm overthinking this, but I thought the part with the two hammer bros in the key room was clever: if you land on the hammer bro's platform, 9 times out of 10 you'll die, so a lot of people will try to jump past it, fall down, and find the keyblock. However, that's made slightly more annoying by the fact that the hammer bros randomly will jump down to the key block and block your way forever, leading to an almost assured death. Overall, I liked it

I've just uploaded Bowsers Retro Kingdom 2
KRH-BNG-HNG

Super Mario Bros style and it's kind of a mash up of old Mario stages with a secret boss and stages for those who want to find it. Feel free to leave me any codes as I'll be playing a bunch later today

Ender1304

Hi just reaching out for a little help from a Nintendo community.

My daughter made a level in Super Mario Maker 2, I really was impressed, although of course I have bias!
We were using a friend's account. I thought to be nice to her I'd make my own account and like her level, but this has ended in disappointment since learning this is not possible on the same switch.

Course ID is 3SC-VBY-HXF, name is 'Welcome to the Castle'.

If you're interested please give it a go, and if you don't think it is rubbish please like it, or add some constructive feedback to help her on her creative journey.

This will turn a bit of disappointment into cheerfulness, which equals good karma for you! Yay

Thank you very much! Appreciate it.
I don't really take any type of player into consideration, none of my stages have a "theme" per se, everything in them is just whatever comes to my mind at the time.
Truth be told when I placed the hammer bros. at the end I didn't intend for them to fall down, so when I tried clearing my stage to upload and they did so I thought it was funny since I screwed myself over, so I decided to leave them as is.

@zwetzel4 - played Sixty Second Plumbing and Queen Stingby’s Hive, and I really enjoyed both! Well designed! 60 second was a fun challenge. Took me a few times, but I got it. I’ve added you to course designers I follow.

@Ender1304 it's not a bad start, reminds me of my stepsons levels in that he has some neat ideas but builds the level in a way that most of it can be ignored, what is there is promising. Gave it a like too

@sjmartin wow, thank you. I've currently got the third and final part under construction but have a bit of writer's block at the moment. The overall structure is ready, I just need to fill some of the parts. I can say a certain time travelling machine features much more heavily in it

I've just been playing Luigi's Twisting Ghost House, really well done and I can fully appreciate how much work went into that to create the illusion of it turning. Great job
