Topic: Stepmothers...

So I had this switch my step mom gave me, many months I have put games and etc on it. I later moved out of the house with nothing but some clothing because of harassment and other stuff...I gotten myself a switch lite and logged into my account, I have all of my Eshop games and stuff. I was hoping to transfer my data from my old switch to this one but one problem. My step mom sold all my games and the switch itself for $500 to buy herself something she wanted. Which whatever, my only problem is that I can only play these games on my account. If my bf or friend wanted to play a game they can’t make another account on my device. I’m really hoping there’s some way out of this, but sadly I know there probably isn’t. If there’s any information you guys got that’ll be awesome!

I'd suggest using a thread title that actually reflects what you need help with, since we can't really do anything about your stepmother.

I don’t think I fully understand but have you tried making sure your console is registered as your primary console?

If it’s not, normally you’d be able to simply go to your old switch, scroll down the settings page in the eShop and click “Deregister console”. Then all you have to do is open the eShop on the new console and BOOM! You can play your eShop games on any user on that Switch.

But since you don’t have access to your old console, you’re probably going to have to contact customer support and explain the situation. They’ll probably ask for some account info but they should make it so your new console is your primary console, thus allowing other people to play your games on that console.

@The_Marshmelo You can add new Users to your Switch, which give them their own save files. But if, down the road, your BF wanted to transfer his game saves to a new switch, I can't remember if thats a headache or possible. In Switch settings, there's an option to add new user. It will ad a new user icon next to yours at the upper left of Switch home screen.

**Some online games will require a new nintendo account, which can be created and added, but each nintendo account requires a unique email. So, you can't make new account using the email address you already used.

I liked stepbrothers better honestly. For my money, it doesn't get any better than John C Reiley and Will Ferrell

Problem is unless those eShop were tied to the original account you will not be able to redownload them. So this is something you must figure out first-whom account are those Digital tied to otherwise it's between Nintendo support to resolve this. NL can't help with Digital purchase games.

@The_Marshmelo If the original Switch is gone, you are likely out of luck. Save transfer requires you actually have the saves still. And since she sold it, many resellers restore factory defaults.
